Chapter 20 – Berryier VS KOA2468 2
'It will not be that easy to hit me again!' Shin got more serious and Berry was right in front of him. Berry had a golf ball prepared in his hand to attack Shin, even so, it would not be that easy.
Shin suddenly moved to the side at a speed higher than Berry. Similar to Berry, he had a high-quality tennis ball prepared to attack Berry.
'He can move faster than me. He must have raised his speed a lot,' Berry realized that Shin's greatest strength was his speed. Berry had witnessed Shin's speed twice. First was the shadow and next was what happened just now. From his observation, Berry's speed could not rival Shin's.
With his higher speed, Shin got behind Berry and he decided to throw the tennis ball at Berry. Be that as it may, Berry would not give Shin the chance.
Berry bent his body and counterattacked by kicking Shin who stood behind him. The move was unexpected that resulted in Shin failed to dodge.
Shin was kicked and flew a few meters away from Berry. Berry did not stop there as he threw the golf ball at Shin who was flying.
Shin fell and roll on the ground. At the same time, a golf ball hit his body and he gained damage.

"Whoa!" the spectators exclaimed in shock.
"The kick may not cause any damage but thanks to that, Berryier gets the chance to throw his ball," a spectator commented.
"That is not important. Did you see Berryier's move just now? Not only that but the spin in mid-air earlier too," another spectator added.
"He must be someone who practices self-defense skill. That kick manages to defend him from KOA2468's attack," another one added.
"Agree!" Many people nodded.
"Now, the battle will be more interesting. Who would have expected the guy who was embarrassed in public due to his younger brother is this strong? I think it makes sense that his brother is scared of him," a guy exclaimed which caught the attention of many people around him.
"Oh~ you know him?" people got curious and the guy started telling the story.
As some of them started getting interested in Berry, some started to hate on him. These people were KOA2468's fan.
"Ugh! That is a dirty move!" a boy spoke.
"Agree! This is dodgeball and he kicked KOA2468!" a girl was angry.
"That's right! The developer should ban him from this game! This is dodgeball, not a fighting game!" another girl added.
"BOO~ Berryier is playing dirty!!!"
While all this was happening, Dianne was dumbfounded while Daisy's excitement was through the roof. Daisy's eyes were filled with anticipation, hope, and excitement. Daisy was clenching her fist hard as she saw the moves that Berry had displayed.
Dianne on the other hand was speechless. She did not expect the guy who was involved in that embarrassing scene was quite strong.
"So, he practices martial arts. That is why he has a fit body. Other people cannot see it but I can see it. If he joins the team, we can reach a new height in competitions!" Daisy mumbling in excitement.
"It is still early to judge. He may get lucky from all these moves. I don't believe he can win against KOA2468," Dianne mumbled in disbelieved too.
Shin did not mourn in disappointment when he was hit but he had viewed Berry as someone he needed to beat. After he was hit by the golf ball, Shin used his skill and entered the shadow. Shin used his speed and experienced and blended with the grass's shadow.
'He is strong! This is the kind of opponent I want to fight. Who would have expected that he learns self-defense? Is he only knew a bit about it or is he super good?' Shin wondered as he moved stealthily and fast in the shadow towards Berry.
'If he knew only a bit, this battle will only be a bit difficult. If he is super good at it, I may lose this battle,' Shin thought.
While Shin was headed to Berry, Berry did not stay idle either. Rather than took out more balls, he decided to collect the ball on the field. Berry grabbed the golf ball nearby. He wanted to get the high-quality tennis ball he threw at Shin earlier but it was too far from him.
'He is gone again,' Berry looked at the place Shin fell and he was gone. Berry knew Shin was among the shadow nearby so, he immediately looked around to find Shin.
Even so, something unexpected happened when a tennis ball suddenly came out of the shadow in front of Berry.
"!!!" Berry was shocked but he reacted fast by moving his hand that was holding the golf ball to block the tennis ball.
The tennis ball hit the golf ball and it was bounced in another direction. Even so, a small part of the tennis ball grazed Berry's finger and he received damage from it.

'I get half the damage but it is this much?' Berry was shocked.
In Dodgeball Master, a direct hit to the body by the ball would receive the full damage after counting the attack points of the attacker and defense points of the defender.
However, indirect hit or grazing would let the defender receive only halved the damage. This situation had happened twice during this battle.
The first was when Berry hit Shin's shadow. Shin should receive 3 damage but he only got two because it was halved. It was supposed to be 1.5 damage but decimal was not count in Dodgeball Master.
The second was the tennis ball grazing Berry's finger. Due to this type of hit, Berry only received 3 damage.
Berry knew about the rule and a simple calculation was enough to determine that if he received full damage, it would be six or five damage and that was massive.
'KOA2468's attack stat is high too!' Berry made his conclusion. 'High speed and high attack with shadow ability. Is he aiming to become an assassin?' Berry wondered but he could not be in deep thought for long when Shin appeared behind him and threw another high-quality tennis ball.
Berry wanted to dodge but this time, he could not. He was not fast enough to react to the second attack and the tennis ball directly hit his back.

"YES!!!! GO! GO! KOA2468! You can do it!" Shin's fans started shouting excitedly.
"He will lose. KOA2468 will do a rapid attack starting now. If he raises his HP a lot, he may have a chance of turning this around but he is only level 2 and there is nothing much he can raise," Dianne predicted that Berry would lose.
"Yeah. You are not wrong," Daisy spoke while looking excited.
"I thought you root for him," Dianne was confused.
"He is still new to the game and him losing is not a surprise at all. His opponent is a level higher and is someone with more experience," Daisy smiled.
"Then?" Dianne asked.
"I guess a kid is still a kid. You are still a teen and new to this but I don't care if he loses this battle. All I see is his potential. Berry is someone with a lot of potentials," Daisy's eyes were burning with excitement. She could not wait to see Berry again and persuaded him to be a professional player.
"If he loses, that means he is not worth it for the recruitment. He may have the potential but everything is a result. He needs to show his results if he wants people to see his potential," Dianne disagreed with Daisy.
"Whatever girl. You have your opinion and I have mine," Daisy focused on the battle.
'Three more HP and I am out!' Berry felt a sense of crisis and he started to lose his calm. Berry looked behind him and Shin was gone again but not for long.
Shin appeared behind Berry once again and threw the high-quality tennis ball at Berry.
'He loses his calm,' Shin could feel it from Berry's movement. Berry knew Shin would appear from his back and he bent his body and tried to kick Shin again.
Even so, Shin had a feeling Berry would do that and after he threw the ball, he immediately went back inside the shadow. Berry kicked to an empty space and the tennis ball hit Berry's leg.
'I will not fall for that move again,' thought Shin. He had a feeling that Berry would kick him again and thus, he aimed for Berry's leg instead of Berry's body, and Shin did it.
[Berryier's HP-5] Berry disappeared from the field and only Shin was left there.

"YEAH!!! KOA2468's fourth win!" his fans shouted in excitement while others clapped their hands.
"It is a good battle. At least Berryier managed to give a good fight. He loses in under two minute but all that moves he showcased is good," a spectator added.
"If he trains a bit more, he can become big too. Unfortunately, his first battle is a strong opponent like KOA2468," another spectator spoke.
Shin left the battlefield and entered the waiting room again.
"He only used the normal-quality golf balls. Did he not have better balls? If he used a stronger ball, I may have lost the battle," Shin spoke.
"I hope I can battle him again when he becomes stronger. He has the skills but his equipment is too lacking," Shin added.
