25 Rescued

I woke up in a futon.

Which was weird cause futon's are Japanese if you didn't know.

And I was not in Japan.

What was weirder was that I was alive.

"Or am I?" I thought.

I woke up and suddenly I heard a voice yell at me. "What do you think your doing! Lie down!"

I looked behind me. A girl about the same age as me was yelling at me. When I looked at her I almost believed I was dead.

She had silver hair, which I didn't even know was a hair colour(although she could have dyed it but it didn't seem like that), and it was clear she was Asian.

The reason I believed she was an angel was because of how beautiful she was. I could have looked at her for 5 hours without moving, and that's hard for me because I'm ADHD.

"I'm dead aren't I?" I said. "And you're an angel" I added blankly.

She put her hands on the side of her hips which made her look cuter and looked at me with an expression that said "Are you kidding me?"

"I don't think beating up a bunch of thugs is going to get you a ticket to heaven" she said. "Also if I were an angel where are my wings?" she asked.

I got up but suddenly she moved forward and pushed me down gently. "You idiot!" she cried. "Can't you feel the pain? You're injured badly." She made me lie down as I looked at my injuries which were covered in bandages.

"You were stabbed pretty deep. You didn't have to help that women so why did you do it?" she asked.

"How do you..." I began. "I was there. I was going to call the police. I was hoping that since she seemed to be rich they might have helped. Although they probably wouldn't even bother coming. And then you showed up all of a sudden and beat them all up. I was going to help you but you kept on moving." she said as she fed me some soup. I tried to eat it myself but she didn't let me. "Moving your arms will hurt. Just let me do it" she responded.

"So" she continued. "Why did you do it?" she asked.

I was hesitant to tell her but the truth was that I had just wanted the exp. It's not like I specifically cared about what happened.

"I just wanted to help" I responded feeling guilty about lying to her. She pursed her lips and continued to feed me.

Afterwards I looked at the time. 7 am. Maya said she would pick me up at 11. I had to leave. I got up and put on my shirt which had a hole in it and was splattered with blood. I didn't feel pain.

"Are you leaving?" she asked. I turned around. "I'll drop you off" she said. She was wearing a leather jacket on her t-shirt and had a bag. She looked like a student.

I decided not to mention the ability. She probably came up with her own explanation. As we left I saw that we were in the city. We got in the car and she pulled up a holo map on her windshield and looked at me. "Where to?" she asked.

"Preston avenue" I said. "Drop me off somewhere nearby"

She selected the destination and and arrow appeared on her windshield telling her where to go.

As we travelled I thought about the worst case scenario where she had seen it and knew that something was up. I thought about various explanations but none seemed to be good enough.

I could just deny it but what if she started stalking me?

"I wouldn't mind if she did" I thought. I quickly shook my head. "It's not for the reasons you think"

Eventually we got to our destination. "Thanks for the ride" I said but before I could get out she held my arm. "Wait" she said.

"Oh no" I thought.

I turned around and she reached out for a bag and handed it to me. "These are a few medicines you should take. It'll make you feel better" she said.

I sighed a sigh of relief. "Thanks" I said and reached out for it. She pulled it back a little. "My name's Yui. What about you?" she asked.

"Oliver" I responded.

She smiled and the took out a piece of paper and wrote something on it and gave it to me. I looked at it.

"It's my number" she said.

I looked at her in a weird way and her face turned red. "It's not in the way you think! I gave it to you just in case you want any help" she said.

I raised an eyebrow. "Help with what?" I asked.

"You know superhero stuff" she said casually.

I looked at her. "I'm not a-" I began to say.

"I saw what you did yesterday. You don't have to hide it. You've been gifted with cool powers and you're helping people. I won't tell anyone." she said. "It's just that you seemed to get injured easily so I could be of help. I'm not a doctor yet but I know how to treat wounds and a bonus is I don't ask questions" she said with a smile. With that she didn't even give me time to respond and drove away.

I stood on the sidewalk with he number in my hand and looked at it. "What a waste of a good number" I thought as I walked home.

I reached the villa and took out the keys. I unlocked the door silently and ran up to my room and tried to open it. It was locked. Luckily I had my keys. I went inside and locked the door. I then sat on the bed.

I looked at my level. Level eight. Not bad. My stats were were at 12 each. I was better than an athlete now.

I looked at my hp and it was full. I removed the bandages and when I looked the wound was gone. The stitches had disappeared.

One thing I had learned was my body was still very much like a normal human's but it had it's differences. I couldn't feel pain fully. However my body still experienced the effects of having open wounds and probably other common effects. "Although I do suspect that these will disappear once I get to a high enough level." I said to myself.

As for the next issue. Yui.

I had decided never to call her for "hero" stuff. Of course calling her for anything else would still make her want to talk about it. She seemed like one of those people who was obsessed over that stuff. It was sad but I unfortunately had to stay away from her.

I realised I had another problem. Most humans wouldn't go beyond level 5. Eventually I would get to a point where I just couldn't level up anymore.

So I definitely had to find a solution for that

Other than those I also decided to do the exercises and normal quests that were given for me. If this body was similar to a normal humans body but also had attributes of a game like one it meant that exercising, which although wouldn't help me level up, would increase my stats.
