7 Ch. 7 Magma Magic

"What's your magic?"

If Iron Heart was in his right state of mind right now, he would think this is a strange question but the people who made this game seem to take their job seriously as dying in the game feels much realistic compared to dying in real life.

"Ma...g..m..a" Iron Heart does his best, using all his might to answer,

"Good, that's enough" Kai simply said with a grin as he punched Iron Heart in the head, killing the magma player.

Because the player's dead body doesn't disappear until about a minute after their death, Kai does not need to keep his promise because the last step doesn't require his target to be alive.

So why waste a precious health potion when he doesn't need to?

Just like what he did to the magician, Kai held Iron Heart's hand and placed it on top of his grimoire, tracing it to the red palm in the book.

Seeing this notification, Kai grinned in delight, as he now possessed a strong attack-based magic ability, making grinding faster.

But before he could celebrate, Kai heard a clapping noise he turned his head and saw a man with pink hair partnered with pale skin that made him look like a clown.

"Oh my! What is this?!" The man exclaimed but sarcasm was evident in his face as he wore a wide grin in his face.

'He's tough' Kai commented seeing the stats of the player in front of him, his eyes squinted, wary against the man in front of him.

"Let's fight!" The man creepily said with a devilish smile on his face.

The man activated his grimoire and Kai noticed a three-leaf grimoire imprinted in the book's front page.

'Why does it seem like everybody just has a three-leaf grimoire?' Kai complained in his head as once again, a tingling sense traversed throughout Kai's body, warning him of the coming danger.

Then, a rock of a similar size to that of a human head flew toward Kai who was alerted as he dodged with ease.

On the rock, Kai noticed a long pink gooey substance that connected the rock to one of Joker's fingers.

"AWESOME!!" The creepy man crazily exclaimed, happy to see Kai dodging at ease as he continued swinging his hand, controlling the rock.

Not wanting to be at the opponent's mercy, Kai took on an offensive approach, as he charged toward Joker, swerving his body to dodge the continuous attacks.

Kai's middle and pointy finger turned into a magma blade, made possible because of Kai's perfect control of mana as he can shape the magma to his liking.

Using the magma blade, Kai cut Joker's gum, severing the connection from his fingertip, to the rock.

The distance between the two shortened as Kai was close to cutting the madman in half when he noticed dozens of gum strings, scattered around the floor.

With a twist of his wrist, Joker stretched the gum, as it pulled the other end towards them.

Giant boulders and bulky trees flew toward their direction with incredible speed, and they crashed into the spot where Kai was standing.

The collision causes dust particles to rise, obscuring their vision.

With a smile, Joker walks toward the rumble with a wide grin thinking he has defeated Kai but the smile on his face is distorted as no sign of Kai can be seen inside the rumble.

Joker swiftly turns his head left and right, looking at his surroundings but not even a single strand of Kai's hair can be seen.

"Fuhahaha, Amazing how did you do it?" Joker asked no one, as Kai was long gone.

"What an interesting opponent," The madman mumbled with a smile as he left the scene, on his way to destroy another player's day.

'What a strange fellow' Kai, who activated his illusion magic to turn invisible, thought as he watched Joker's back disappearing within the horizon.

With Danger Perception's warning, Kai was able to react as he copied Joker's Gum Magic and pulled himself to a tree not far away, dodging the attack while simultaneously activating his illusion magic, making Joker believe he vanished.

This is the plan he thought so that the madman would stop bothering him, as for beating the madman, Kai is not a battle maniac nor a person that acts based on emotion.

He is calculative and considers the pros and cons before taking action.

Plus, Joker is strong, Kai can tell, and beating him will be hard, but he won't receive anything by defeating Joker, so Kai simply chooses to retreat.

Standing in the middle of the forest, Kai could see uncountable orcs who were charging at him at a fast speed. The monster The scene lacked coordination as the orcs don't know the word teamwork as they are racing about who will get to bite first.

Facing this sense, no ounce of Fear can be perceived in Kai's face as he activates his grimoire. The book flipped to the second page and Kai's arm turned into magma as he pointed it in the sky.

"Magma Rain." Kai simplicity said as he sent a barrage of magma into the sky, as it passed through the clouds, the magma seemed to get bigger and bigger as it fell to the orcs.

This is currently, Kai's killer move, a powerful spell that cost half of his current MP.

"AHHH!!" Kai watched as the orcs wailed in pain as they were getting cooked alive

[Ding! you inflicted severe burn to the orc]

The orcs are level 15 monsters, known as hard to kill for their high endurance and health. They were quite tough but in the face of a sizzling magma, all they could do was wail as their body got burned into charcoal.

[Ding! you earned 169 exp]

[Ding! You leveled up to level 12!]

[Ding! You leveled up to level 13!]

[Ding! You leveled up to level 14!]

It was a massacre as Kai killed what seemed like a tribe of orcs as his level went up by three!

This is the perfect end for his day as he logs out of the game.

[Player 'Chrollo' logging out, confirm?]

"Yes," Kai said as his body disintegrated and turned into blue particles.

Waking in his room, Kai removed the VR gear helmet from his head as he stood up and went to brew some coffee, not noticing a peculiar book on top in his bed.
