"You liar, give me a refund!"

"I already told you, the application fee was 10 gold, no refunds."

In a small village a large group of people blocked the entrance into the village, all of their attention focused on the scene in front of them.

Most of them were agreeing with the angry man's demand. They believed that the man behind the table was a scammer.

This was however all before what happened next. As the angered man got more agitated, the man behind the table calmly called out a name.

"Mu Bai, take care of this."

"Sure."

Behind the man, a handsome teenager with blonde hair and two different eye colors walked up beside him.

Mu Bai had a smug smirk on his face as he looked at the angered man with disdain.

"You want a refund? Defeat me and you'll get it!"

As Mu Bai said that, three rings magically appeared behind him, two yellow and the last one purple.

When the angered man saw the rings he was immediately intimdated and became more reserved but he was still bothered.

"I will repeat, Shrek is an academy for monsters! We will only accept students with monstrous talent!" The man behind the table exclaimed.

Out of spite, the previously angered man muttered, "as if anyone..."

Before he could say anymore, two kids walked up to the table and put down a bag of gold coins.

"20 gold coins, the application fee for both of us."

The man behind the table nodded while Mu Bai behind him had a smile on his face.

"Alright, give me your hands."

Both kids had no qualms with this and easily presented their hand before the man.

Starting with the young girl with brown hair tied up into a long ponytail, the man nodded in approval before giving her the pass.

Next he took the hand of the young boy with blue eyes and hair. This time he frowned a bit and asked the boy to show him his leg.

The boy did as he was asked and was passed as well without any problems.

"Good, now your spirit ranks..."

Before the man could even finish his words, the kids suddenly summoned two yellow rings each.

"Ok both of you little monsters pass, you can go on to the next test. Mu Bai will take you there, follow him."

After Mu Bai and the two kids left everything calmed down a bit but then a young girl with pink hair and light ble eyes walked up to the table.

The appearance of the girl surprised the man behind the table as he had a look of shock on his face.

"You're..."

"I can pass as long as I meet the requirements right?"

The man swallowed down his words and just sighed as he told the girl to follow after the earlier group after testing her.

Thinking the the whole ordeal was over, the crowd started to slowly disperse but that was when a young ragged boy approached the table.

"I want to apply."

The man behind the table didnt seem to really care as he made a money gesture.

He had seen many of these types of kids approaching, hoping to somehow get in.

The ragged looking boy stood silent for a good while before replying, "I have no money..."

"Then stop wasting my time and leave." The man replied calmly.

"...I'll be back." The ragged boy said after a bit of thinking.

When the ragged boy left, the man shook his head. Although he felt bad for the boy there was nothing he could do.

Watching as the boy disappeared into the village, the man slumped in his chair and closed his eyes.

Meanwhile in the village, the ragged boy walked around until he saw something that caught his eye.

It was a man beating a young boy with a body thin as a stick and with long black hair cascading down his face.

"You stupid brat! How many times do I have to tell you not to get caught!"

The man then gave the boy two hard slaps to the face before chucking him against a wall.

What caught the ragged boys attention wasn't the violence but rather the brown bag hanging from the mans belt.

The ragged boy could see a golden sheen from the brown bag causing him to unconsciously approach the man.

As the man was about to continue beating the unfortunate boy again, he suddenly felt a tug on his side.

Turning around, the man saw a ragged young boy with pitch black eyes and eye catching snow white hair.

"Who the hell are you boy?"

The ragged boy looked up at the man and after thing about his question for a bit, he answered honestly, "Sun Bohai."

For some reason Bohai's honest reply angered the man causing him to forget about the boy he was beating and focused on Bohai.

"Kid, do you thing I'm joking around?"

Bohai looked at the man with empty eyes and asked, "did you not want to know who I was?"

The man was prone to angering easy and immediatly raised his hand, ready to attack Bohai.

Seeing the mans actions, Bohai calmly said, "I only wanted to borrow some money but seeing as you intend to attack me..."

As the mans hand fell onto Bohais face, a purple ring suddenly appeared behind his back.

*Pak*

Unlike what the man had expected to see happen which was the boy in front of him down on the ground, he instead felt a stinging sensation on the left side of his cheek.

"What the..."

As the man came back to his senses, he was instantly terrified to see two purple rings behind the boy he had tried to hit.

Immediately the man fell on his ass and looked up at Bohai in fear.

"Karma doesn't overlook anyone, not even the gods."

As Bohai said that, a third black ring appeared behind him bringing the feeling of dread to anyone who saw it.

This was especially so to the man in front of him as he quickly got to his knees and begged, "p... please spare me great spirit master."

Bohai looked on emotionlessly as he activated the black ring, "Karmic retribution."

To the mans horror, everything around him suddenly turned dark but what really scared him were the chilling screams that were drilling directly into his ears.

This was all in his head but it all felt so real. In reality, the effects of this could be seen as the man was convulsing on the ground with all sorts of injuries suddenly appearing all over his body.

"To think you were such a horrible human..."

With that, Bohai didnt even bother to stick around anymore and after taking the mans money was about to leave.

"Hmm?"

Feeling a tug behind himself, Bohai turned around to find the young boy who was being beaten earlier.

"T... thank you."

After a moment of silence, Bohai opened the bag full of gold coins and took out ten.

He then put the left over money from the bag into the boys hand before leaving again.

The boy watched as Bohai left and tears started to pour down from his eyes like a water fall.

"Sun Bohai... I will never forget your kindness!" The boy vowed to himself.
