First-task

A fine frown appeared on his forehead. A sense of excitement and confusion mixed in his heart, making his emotions even more erratic. Was this message true, or just a message from a prankster? Who knows, Ethan decided to ignore the strange message and focus on seeing his current status.

As he was looking at his character's status, his eyes suddenly caught something right in front of him. A large glowing arrow appeared nearby as if directing him somewhere. Curiosity coursing through his blood, he mindlessly followed the arrow until it ended at a large door.

His fingers gently pushed open the cold door, revealing a small village filled with several other players. It was like seeing a colony of ants gathering, making him shake his head quickly.

"Wow, I never expected there to be so many players here." His head felt dizzy for a moment, looking at the growing number of people. "Ugh, this is why I hate crowds so much."

As he took stock of the situation, a small white-winged creature flew like a bullet towards him. Its little fingers touched Asher's shoulder gently, making him turn his head and be speechless. He couldn't believe he was seeing this creature face to face with him.

"Welcome to the fairy village of Altaria. My name is Navi and I will accompany you to your first mission location." Navi smiled, the feeling of happiness clear on her face.

"Oh my, is this for real?" Asher widened his eyeballs, the jaw of his mouth slightly opened. "Wait, this has to be fake, right?" His hand tried to touch Navi's wing, curiosity still on his mind.

"Hey, what the heck are you doing!" Navi flew away from Asher, her expression reddening. "No! You can't touch my wings. "She folded her arms, looking annoyed.

"Uh, sorry, I don't think your existence is so real." Asher scratched his head, embarrassment creeping over his face.

Navi sighed, seeing Asher's expression. "Well, any new player will do the same as you, but never mind, let's go."

During the journey, Navi explained that ever since the crystal lost its light, many horrible creatures had appeared out of nowhere and started attacking and killing everything that lived in this world. The panic and fear that gripped the world left them with nothing to do.

They had made various attempts to restore the crystal light, but their strength was no match for the terrifying creatures. They were stronger than all of them, so the best they could do was survive, hiding from the pursuit of these creatures.

However, that did not last long. The creatures became increasingly destructive on all fronts, causing the population of living beings to decline in all regions. Times of darkness continued to haunt this world, so their hopes were slowly dashed. However, darkness did not always reign supreme. A glimmer of hope appeared in a prophecy from a fortune teller in the village of Altaria, who said that there would come heroes from another world who would help restore the light from the crystal in this world.

"We think the prophecy is a lie." Navi chuckled, disbelief still clearly etched on her face. "But, it turns out we are wrong. The prophecy was true and we are very happy to meet you, heroes." She smiled, happiness visible on her face.

A few minutes later, the two of them finally arrived at their destination. Altaria's village square. Navi directed him to wait in the crowd, but he preferred to keep his distance from the crowd. He felt more comfortable with his current position.

"Alright, if you want to stay here. "Navi shook her head, seeing Asher's strange behavior. "But stay here, the fairy elders will be here soon. I'll find the rest of the players, see you later Asher." The fairy darted away quickly, leaving Asher alone.

Suddenly, three colored lights like traffic lights flashed right in front of Asher's eyes, leaving him momentarily dumbfounded. 

"Oh my, what is that?"

He squinted his eyes, trying to see the three figures more clearly, but unfortunately, the three lights were moving so fast, passing through the growing crowd of people.

"At least, I need to hear what the fairy elders have to say."

Asher also moved his body, getting closer to the crowd of players in front of him, while continuing to squint his eyes. However, his efforts were in vain as the rest of the crowd continued to block his view.

"Welcome heroes, we're so glad you're here." The red hat fairy welcomed all the players with a warm short speech. "Okay, now let the first quest begin." The red hat fairy snapped her fingers, signaling the first quest had finally appeared on all players' screens.

"Quest 1: Training (required)"

The fairy elder created a simple simulation to level up the players enough to accept the next quest.

Asher stroked his chin, knowing that this first mission looked easy to complete. There was no doubt in his mind, so he chose this mission without a second thought. Not long after, the fairy in the red and yellow hat started casting strange spells, teleporting them all to the Forest.

"Alright, you have to use your strength and attack the slime here to raise your level." The fairy in yellow gave brief instructions, her voice sounding firm. "When you reach level 5, come back to me and I'll take you back to the village for the next mission."

"Good luck, all heroes!" The fairy in the red hat waved her hand, her voice sounding happy.

All the players split up, racing into the forest and starting to attack the green slimes that roamed freely there. In just a short time, Asher had reached level 3. Well, that was easy enough. However, this quest required him to reach level 5 to complete this quest.

"Well, just two more levels. I can get out of here." Asher rubbed his palms together, excitement shining in his eyes. "But wait, I don't see any slimes at all." He squinted his eyes, trying to locate the slime.

Suddenly, a strange boom was heard, making Asher and everyone else there pause for a moment. Not long after, a large slime appeared among the trees. All the players gathered and together attacked the slime until they finally defeated the slime and reached level 5.

Suddenly, there was a strange banging sound, making Asher and everyone else there pause for a moment. A jumbo-sized slime appeared among the trees. Realizing this, all players immediately flocked to attack the slime until all of them managed to reach level 5. 

'You have completed the mission: Training'

"An easy task just as I thought it would be." Asher laughed with satisfaction. "Good, now let's check our skills."

After a while, Asher and the others decided to go back to talk to the fairy in the yellow hat. With the help of the fairy in the red hat, they began casting spells and instantly brought all the players back to the Altaria village square.

The fairy in the green hat greeted all the players enthusiastically. "Wow, you guys leveled up quickly. I'm sure you're all ready to fight real monsters." She clapped her hands, the sense of excitement evident in her clapping.

Euphoria instantly filled the place. The fairy's words managed to get all the players excited. This could be seen from the shouts among the players indicating a burning passion to move on to the next quest.

"Quest 2: Searching for the missing fairies 1/5 (part 1) (required)"

The fairy elders received news that a few fairies were still missing in the forest not far from the fairy village. However, the place was full of horrible creatures.

Without hesitation, all players including Asher accepted the mission. They all followed the path of the fairy in the green hat until they reached the gate of Altaria village. The fairy cast her spell and the gate slowly opened, revealing a dense forest just like during training.

Asher and the others stepped out into the forest. A chill instantly ran through his body as he walked deep into the forest. It felt strange. The further into the forest, the quieter it got, making Asher pause for a moment. He tried to observe the situation that looked different from what he had imagined.

"Strange, I don't see anything other than the players at all." Asher stroked his chin, trying to decipher the strangeness. "But what?" he muttered in frustration.

While scanning his surroundings, his eyes suddenly noticed a strange movement behind the nearby bushes. Curiosity mixed with fear merged in his mind, leaving him unsure of what to do. After struggling with his thoughts for a few minutes, he decided to take the first step. A step that led him to something he had never imagined before.
