"Yuliang, I was hoping you could help me with something."

"Sure, what's up?"

It wasn't often that young Elys Rydel approached him for help, but Yuliang has noted that the teen's shame associated with having to do it had significantly lessened after the first few times.

Yuliang cleared the table for the teen, who placed his textbook on it with much difficulty. It was a thick book that looked like it weighed half the blond omega's weight. Yuliang had offered to help, but after getting snapped at the first time he had offered to help some weeks ago, he didn't bother to offer it again.

"Could you explain the Lavo-Curie Theorem to me? I don't understand it at all," the young omega admitted quietly.

"Oh," Yuliang's eyes widened in realization. So that's why the boy had been struggling so much with today's task. "I get it now."

Elys frowned, "What?"

"I get why you were struggling with today's lesson now. Okay, let's start with what you already have an understanding of, and then tell me what's got you stumped."

Elys groaned, shoulders slumping. "I don't understand a thing! The textbook terms are so confusing, and the stuff on the Net is even worse. Pretty sure the same person who wrote our awful textbook wrote literally every resource in existence about the topic."

Yuliang nodded, "Alright. Not sure if it'll be much better, but I'll try explaining it in my own words. So the whole purpose of the Lavo-Curie Theorem is to help Healers determine the amount of Energy required to clot the blood and Heal the injured site simultaneously. In the first year, you are taught to stop the blood flow completely using the theory, but obviously, a complete clot is only effective when arteries are not involved. You don't want to prevent blood from flowing to any vital organs and end up killing your patient, after all. The Lavo-Curie Theorem is just the foundation for when you learn about partial clots and controlling the blood flow in the later years."

Elys' face scrunched up, "Wait. That's it? That's what all those confusing chapters were trying to say?"

Yuliang nodded, "Yeah, pretty much."

"Why couldn't they just say what you did in simple, plain language, then?"

"Probably to increase their page count. No university would use a textbook with less than a thousand pages."

"Why's that?"

Yuliang shrugged, "I don't know. Do I look like I'm in charge here?"

Elys laughed, "You do, actually. Everyone's scared of you."

Yuliang frowned, "Everyone? You mean the rest of the class?"

The blond omega nodded, "Yeah. They say you're a good teacher but too scary to approach. I'm braver than all of them, aren't I, since I talk to you all the time."

"I guess? I don't get why they think I'm scary, though."

"I don't either, but that's their problem. Out of everyone here, you're the only one I like."
