75 From Beyond the Glass III

Pushing Carlton's unconscious body against the wall of the classroom's blindspot, Yuliang looked up to see Elys Rydel just standing at the doorway staring at him with big blue eyes.

There wasn't even a shadow of condemnation, horror, or disgust reflected in them. Just clarity and curiosity.

The tension in Yuliang's body eased.

"Shouldn't you be heading home, Elys?" Yuliang asked, unhurriedly walking to grab the classroom's cleaning supplies.

All Healing classrooms were fully supplied with equipment to deal with any type of mess. The cleaning staff only cleaned on weekends unless they were called specifically to deal with a big mess. So it was up to the teachers and students to maintain its cleanliness on most days.

Elys ducked his head and scuffed his heel against the tile, "I should, but I was hoping to speak to you before I left. I… I had a few questions about today's lesson, but that can wait I think." He looked up at Yuliang with eagerness practically oozing off him, "Do you need any help with cleaning?"

Yuliang arched an eyebrow, "You want to help clean?"

If Elys bobbed his head any faster, it was bound to fly off, "Yes! Well, maybe? I don't have much experience with cleaning, but if you instruct me through it, I'm sure I'll be fine."

Yuliang scoffed, and waved his hand dismissively, "No thanks, I think I'm done with teaching for the day, Elys. Besides, it's late. You should quickly get home before your parents think I kidnapped you or something."

Elys crossed his arms and huffed, "You know they like you right? Especially my father."

"Bullshit," Yuliang asserted, bending down to begin scrubbing at the fresh blood on the tile. "Your old man thinks I'm some kind of savage omega trying to seduce his precious flower to the 'dark side'."

Elys giggled, "Well, he thinks that too. He says you dress like a homeless person and that you could probably stop a moving train on its tracks with how stubborn you are."

Yuliang snorted, "Is that meant to be an insult?"

Elys shrugged, "He said it as if it was one." He checked the time on his phone and winced at all the unanswered messages from his mother that got progressively more worried with every minute. "You're right, Yuliang I should go. I don't need my father sending a team of Enforcers to find me again."

Again?

Yuliang took in the bloody scene around him and the knocked-out Carlton in the corner then shook his head.

Yeah, this definitely wasn't the best time to risk something like that.

"Get going then, Elys. Also make sure to keep your mouth shut about this, yeah?"It was probably unnecessary, but better be safe than sorry.

Elys looked up at him innocently, "Keep my mouth shut about what, Yuliang?"

Yuliang rewarded him with a sharp grin, "Atta boy, but seriously, fuck off now. I have shit to do."

Elys laughed, "Alright. See you tomorrow, Yuliang."
