15 The News

The last few days have been worrisome for both Larry and me. Between jury selection and verdict deliberation, our nerves are pushed to the edge. We're doing our best to keep it together, be there for the other despite it all. Of course, the break-in the shooting only added to the stress.

"We will finish Jury selection after lunch." Banging his gavel on the desk, the judge rises to his feet.

Turning towards me, Larry smiles and asks, "What are you in the mood for, love?"

Placing my hand on my stomach, I say, "I'm not very hungry." I have something I need to tell Larry. Not knowing how he's going to react has my stomach in knots.

"You have to eat something to keep up your strength."

"I'll try."

He smiles. "That's all I ask."

A group of reporters is waiting for us when we step into the hall. I quickly discover it's the same ones that have been parked on our lawn for the better part of a week. Larry said they'd get tired and move on, but it hasn't happened yet.
