Seeing the confused look on Joe and Allen's faces, I explain what Kirk had said. "I told him to tell you."

"We haven't seen him in a while."

I turn to find Kirk beside me.

"I got pulled away before I could tell them," he explains.

I look over to see the Distract Attorney walking away. "Anyhow, the police report confirms that the car was stolen, and the bus ticket proves she's not the victim."

"Is the police department rechecking the identities?"

"Yes. I asked Kirk to check security footage around the city and mileage on Larry's car. We're looking at NYPD"S security video too."

"Keep working on that and the blackmail theory."

"We will, sir."

"What did you find out?" she asks, turning towards me.

"His wife and daughter are alive."

"So Larry is free to go, right?"
