24 Bittersweet Victory

Joe and I are watching the last of the tapes when we hear a loud commotion in the squad room. We run out of the office to find someone yelling at Jerry. Getting closer, I realize it's our DA in a fit of rage.

"What's going on?" I question, giving the DA an evil eye.

Jerry turns towards me. A whipped puppy dog expression plastered across his face. "Allen came in screaming claiming that we're all plotting against him."

Turning towards him I bark, "No one is plotting against you, we're just following a lead. is all."

With a look of disdain, he turns towards Joe and asks, "Why did you make a plea agreement without my consent?"

"I was following your boss's orders."

"You went over my head with this?"

"I figured it was best since you seem to be a big part of the crime."

"What are you talking about?"

Walking behind him, Joe grabs his wrists "Allen Parson, you're under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder."

"You're making a big mistake."
