4 4. VRpod Installation and Introduction to the VWPS I.
30th Dec 2299, 10:30 Am.
Sunny just got home from the Gym when he felt his HoloWatch vibrate. By looking into it he got to know that the delivery for the VRpod will be coming in under 15 minutes.
He was informed so that he can be at home ready to receive his order.
He went to the bathroom freshened up, he was so excited that he forgot he just showered at the Gym before departing and he traveled on his HoverBoard.
After about 15 minutes he heard his HoloWatch stating that there was a delivery at the door.
He permitted the door bot through his HW to open the door and let the delivery man and the SciDrones in, after verifying that the delivery man's information matched with the information he got in the notification that he received 15 minutes ago.
The SciDrones were carrying a big package and the delivery man was wearing a scouter-type device through which he could probably control the drones and give appropriate orders.
"Mr Sunny, your um...VRpod is inside the package. Kindly inform me of the installation location. I will have the drones install it according to your requirements." Said the delivery man after checking the package contents in his HoloWatch.
"In the bedroom. Follow me." Sunny led the man and the drones carrying the package into the bedroom.
There, Sunny stated his requirements to the delivery man and the man ordered the drones to begin the installation process.
With some adjustments, the installation got completed without any problem.
The QuantumNet connection comes inbuilt, he just has to pay for the yearly subscription. The 1st year subscription fee was included in the price of the VRpod.
After signing the delivery contract the delivery man left with his SciDrones.
Locking the door through the bot, Sunny went to the bedroom and checked the QNS space inside the pod. It was filled with enough B-QNS to last a day i.e. 16 hrs.
He excitedly got inside the pod and checked the contents.
A helmet for Virtual World connection, a full-body suit that was connected to the QNS space for the solution transfusion, a HoloScreen, a mini A.I. for better maintenance and settings configuration.
"A.I., please close the pod and start the connection with my HoloWatch. Thank you." Sunny requested the A.I. as he began the equipment process with the helmet and then the full-body suit.
"As per your order, sir Sunny." Replied the A.I. in a neutral voice.
Meanwhile, he laid down on the half-inclined bed and said "Proceed to enter the VR world and start the installation of the game VWPS."
He also forwarded the download link that was in the subscription certificate that he got from the CEE company after he subscribed for the game
"Right away, sir."
He heard the reply from the A.I. and right after that, his vision got blurry.
All he could see were colorful lights zooming past him like he was traveling at sonic speed.
Then, it all stopped and he found himself floating in the middle of nowhere.
"New participant detected. Since it's your first time in the VR world please create and customize your Avatar. Avatar must have 95% similarity with your real body for optimum control.
"Note that this Avatar is the body in which you will be playing any VRGame. It can't be changed without an Avatar Re-Create card. So, please proceed with caution."
Sunny heard a smooth angelic voice directly inside his head.
That was the VR A.I. Aurora. She was responsible for assisting every VR participant in managing their profile.
The CEE created her and they will have withdrawn all their rights of control from the A.I., except for the core management and monitoring of its structure, at the time of VWPS release.
Then, a HoloScreen and an illusionary body made of motes of lights that looked exactly like his body appeared in front of him.
Sunny didn't do any changes to the avatar and left it as it is. He didn't have any problem with using his real body appearance to play the game.
He then looked at the HoloScreen showing his Avatar profile's details.

The profile just had some simple information. And he got a hilarious name which was randomly suggested for new players.
"Change the name please. Make it 'Chaos' ." requested Sunny.
"The requested name is already taken. Please choose another name. You can try the following suggestions:
'Chaos 810'
'Chaos 7021'
'Chaos 273' ."
"Choose the 3rd option. Thank you." Sunny picked an option without caring much about the fact that the numbers were making the name awkward.
Suddenly a bright light came from his right side and filled the void like space.
After the light subsided, he saw a colorful shimmering barrier which was like a protective barrier around a large flat landmass with some smaller pieces of landmass floating around it.
A single sphere of 2 colors light and dark was located at the top of the central axis of the barrier.
Below the large landmass, there was another landmass that was shrouded in dark red color.
He could see some words floating above the shimmering barrier.
_Virtual World: Pocket Sanctuary_
It seems that the installation process of the game was already complete.
There was also a timer above the title of the game.
"24 hrs: 40 min: 39 sec" and ticking down.
The game wasn't yet launched, but one can enter the VWPS world and listen to the introduction which was available 30 hours before the release.
Sunny had already watched the video, but to watch a video and personally experience it are different matters.
So, he excitedly requested, "Please enter the game VWPS and play the introduction, Aurora."
"Proceeding to enter the game, Virtual World: Pocket Sanctuary. The world may contain some explicit content so please prepare yourself…
10; 9; 8;… 3; 2; 1.
Please enjoy yourself."
Sunny then again experienced moving at sonic speed and before long he arrived in a void space again.
Except for this time, there was a big light cluster of light in the space in front of him that was trembling nonstop.
Then, he heard a deep booming voice inside his head.
"In the beginning, there was nothing but a big cluster of some unknown light.
"Then, the big cluster of light exploded to give birth to the Universe that continued to expand and grow at an unimaginable speed.
"Civilizations of Intelligent life forms thrived at different corners of the universe.
"Some were born with precious gifts that made them stronger as they grew older. Like Angels, Demons, Dragons, Phoenix, Pegasus, Elves, etc.
"Some were bestowed with excellent intelligence. They were born weak but using their intelligence they forge a path for their civilization to become stronger. Like Humans, Gnomes, Dwarves, etc."
Sunny witnessed the birth of the Universe and saw the different races up close as they were introduced.
"At the dawn of the Universe, 6 entities were also born with unimaginable powers.
"One was born with an extremely strong body, so strong that he was able to crush dragons like they were ants. He was also extremely proficient in any kind of weapon and can use anything as a weapon to fight.
"The second was born with an innate connection to every element that was born in the Universe and she could freely control them as she desired.
"The third was born with a decently strong body and connection to light and dark elements only.
"Fourth and Fifth were born with an extremely agile and dexterous body. One with the ability to fight in close range extremely proficiently, and the other could fight from long distances.
"All five of them had equal combat power, with no one being able to defeat another of the five.
"These five would fight each other every once in a while to decide the strongest among them.
"But some eons later they got bored as they couldn't decide a winner.
"So, they turned their attention towards the growing civilizations across the Universe.
"The five decided to teach these civilizations some of their methods and let them fight each other for their entertainment by sending an avatar to interact with the races.
"Conflicts began to rise between different races as they came across each other following the guidance of the 5 entities.
"Wars broke out, civilizations got wiped out, all for the entertainment of the 5 entities.
"If a civilization with good potential gets on the brink of extinction, the mage would save the remaining population through her avatar and then move them to some distant galaxy to give them time to develop, so that they could join the battlefield again.
"The sixth one was weaker compared to the other five in combat, but still much stronger than any being born after the Universe thrived.
"But she was gifted with unmatched intelligence and considered fighting a stupid thing.
"Her greatest desire was to explore every part of the Universe and unveil the secrets hidden behind its birth.
"She also traveled across the Universe in search of new bits of knowledge and imparted some of her knowledge to the civilizations she came to interact with.
"Eons passed just like that."
