2 This is real, Real weird

I woke up what I imagined was a while later, an hour at the most. I almost thought it was a dream, until I heard that voice again.

"Are you through sleeping yet? There is much to do and I must go soon. Things are steadily declining, and you must hurry."

"I'm sorry, I'm not used to waking up in fantasy worlds filled with monsters, magic and God's talking to me about destiny from no where!"

"I apologise, but this had to be done. You show near infinite potential, and might possibly be the only one that can save us."

"What am I saving, and what from? What is going on that is so bad?"

"This world is different from the one you knew. This once peaceful land is plagued with war. Death. All at the hands of one man. Mogorut, breaker of worlds. He's already destroyed this world once."

"If he's destroyed this place once, then how are we here talking about it? That doesn't make sense."

"I am the God of Fate, I have the gift of foresight. I can see the future, and that was what I saw. In little more than two years, this will happen. While it will not happen relatively soon, you must work hard. I searched for a champion, someone who could defeat him, and stop his path of death. You are that person, Wayne Blackburn. I have gifted you with a power, your statistics calls it infamy. This allows you to convince people to join you, fight for you, and depending on it's 'level', much more. The higher the 'level' of this ability, the stronger the effects are. Do not underestimate this, but do not overestimate it at the moment, for it is limited. Now, you must get started immediately. Can you stand?"

"Yes, I think so." My wounds feel much better, actually I can barely feel them. I spin around, dropping my legs to the floor. The sudden blood rush feels like a million bee stings on my feet.

"Good. While a lot of things are different than you remember, much is the same. You are in a small town called Rolinsburg. You were injured in a bar fight, and this man took you in. To make things simple, I will give you quests to get you started, so I won't have to personally supervise you, as I have much to do. I will give you your first quest now, and one last thing. Do not speak of this to anyone, for most will think you are crazy, while others will target you and attempt to harm you. Oh yes, I almost forgot. You must have noticed you are a noble. As such, you have land and a castle. It is not the best, but it is yours. You also have people to take care of, but your advisor is handling things for now. Your castle is southeast from here, it is called Blackstone Hall."

"Uh, okay. What's my first quest then?"

"Check your menu."

I did as I was told, and soon saw my first quest.

'Well, might as well get started.' I stand up, looking around the room. My wounds seem almost healed, with no blood on the bandages. The table I knocked over, as well as the spilled mug, have been cleaned up and put a safe distance from the bed. Since there is nothing else interesting in the room, I walk to the window and look out. Outside, directly ahead from the window is that pond with the forest behind it. 'So, I'm in Rolinsburg. While I've been here a few times, I never had a reason to stay long. Not much here. A small inn, one store, a jail and a bar. Guess I better find the owner of this house and thank him for helping me.'

I turn away from the window and walk towards the door. I turn the handle and push, opening the door to a small room with a fire place, a few wooden chairs and a small table. There is a door straight ahead that seems to go outside, and another door on the right. I walk through the door to the right to find another bedroom, slightly larger than mine. I walk in, but there isn't much to see, not even a painting. Just a bed, a small, square table, and a chest and window. I turn around to leave and find that there is a man standing behind me. This time he doesn't have a sword in his hands. He has what looks like a basket of fruit, but he does looks nervous.

"Uh, thanks for helping me out. I'll pay you back for anything I required while I was out. I don't really remember what happened, could you fill me in?"

The man took a moment to nervously scan me, then spoke.

"You're welcome. I didn't see all of it, I just saw some men running away after I heard a yell behind the bar. There was another man, it seemed you knocked him out cold. The constable took him took to the jail. I think he is still there. Oh, and that man is a known criminal, they know you didn't do anything wrong. If you don't mind me asking, what's your name?"

"Wayne Blackburn. Pleased to meet you. How much do I owe you?" I reach my hand out to shake his and he does the same.

"Wait, are you Baron Wayne Blackburn from Blackstone Hall?"

"Yes, the very same."

"I'm Pieter Colvin. I used to be sort of a home learned healer so I had most the things around my house, and I picked herbs and used some basic healing magic to stop any infection. Don't worry about it."

"No, you helped me. The least I could do is offer you some coin. But, if you will not accept, I will make you a better offer. You saved my life, and have even been humble enough to not accept a reward. So, I have another proposal. Come work in my castle, we are in drastic need for more skilled people like you."

"Seriously! No, I couldn't. I was just doing what was right."

"I insist. You might not exactly grow rich, but you'd have your own place in town. "

"I don't know. I'll consider it though."

"Well, either way, I want to go try to figure out what happened to me and why I was attacked. If you change your mind, I'll be in town for a while. Oh, and one other thing. Did I have anything on me when you brought me in?"

"All of your belongings are in the chest in my room. Come, I will go open it."

The pair of us walked in the bigger bedroom, and then to the chest. Pieter unlocked it, and inside was some blood stained clothes with small holes in them, a short sword (not the one Pieter wielded), a small dagger, a pair of boots and a few other clothing items.

Pieter left the room, and Wayne changed back into what was still wearable, since he was wearing Pieter's clothes and didn't want to take them, and put the rest in a bag. He put his sword in it's sheath, which hooked to his belt, and found that one of his boots had a small hidden sheath made for his dagger. 'I guess they took my silver. People will take anything they can from anyone they can. But we shall see who has the last laugh'

Back when this was just a game, not reality, Wayne was a very skilled player. He played this game almost non stop, and quickly rose up. He had tried most classes and sub-classes, and knew many secrets. One major thing to know about him though was that he was a very skilled fighter, and he can us some of the muscle memory he still has as an advantage.

'I'll get my things back, or at least kill those who took them. I'm not just some pampered Baron anymore.'

After dressing, he left his bloodied clothes in the spare room so he could grab them before he left on his way out of town, and with that he left for the jail.
