6 Fury Fist!

Eidiri continued to keep on grinding the Lvl 1 kobolds, farming out more of his levels, trying to regain what he had previously lost before.

After approximately half an hour, he had once again hit Lvl 2.

As he wandered about through the woods, infant kobolds would leap out from time to time and basically grant him exp.

Fighting them wasn't particularly difficult in the slightest, they appeared scary, but their overall combat strength could be compared to that of a toddler.

After killing what seemed to be his 11th infant kobold of the day, he had lost count along the way, Eidiri noticed something out of place within the surrounding environment.

There was a spot under a tree that was clear of leaves and debris, while around it was a normal forest floor.

Naturally, such a sight would immediately garner large amounts of suspicion.

Perhaps this was a trap set up by the kobolds designed to hunt beasts? After all the guide had covered how food would play a rather necessary role in this game.

Food wouldn't just provide satiation to recover or give debuffs if not properly fed. Everyone would need to eat, not only would starvation provide debuffs, but it would also lead to death.

Food would be necessary to recuperate stamina, and improperly prepared food would also generate some sort of debuff.

Much like reality, food is essential.

Seeing that this could be a hunter's trap, he decided to tentatively toss a rock at the barren spot.

A pregnant silence filled the air as nothing happened. As in literally nothing.

Seeing this, Eidiri moved towards the spot hoping to examine it to discover some sort of hidden treasure.

Upon coming to the spot, he took a thorough look around. Not noticing anything immediately out of place upon his first glance, he swept the environment once again.

As he turned around he happened to notice a narrow hollow within a tree a fair bit of distance away from him, around this hollow was two kobolds, presumably standing guard.

Proceeding to circle around them, Eidiri approached them from behind, making sure to stay out of their line of sight.

After moving into position, he sprung his sneak attack, quickly grabbing one of the kobolds just as the other one had turned around and dragging it into the bush.

After the first kobold was taken care of, the other one had turned around again, and after realizing that his comrade had disappeared, raised his guard, making sure to position itself so that the number of blind spots would be minimized.

Seeing that a sneak attack wouldn't be successful, he decided to drop the pretense and jump out of the bushes.

Despite suffering some scratches and kicks, he succeeded in disrupting its balance, and once the kobold had fallen, it wasn't going to get up.

As soon as the kobold had fallen, despite its wild struggles, Eidiri viciously pummeled it, defeating it swiftly.

Standing back up and brushing off the dirt, he decided to finally investigate the hollow after handling the guards.

Reaching into the tree, he felt something and grabbed it, pulling it out, it turned out to be a shabby wooden chest.

The front was secured by a simple padlock, ensuring that it wouldn't be able to be simply opened.

Seeing this, he groaned in frustration, mentally complaining about that lack of a key. After a brief search for some sort of key in the hollow, his search proved fruitless.

After about 10 minutes of searching without results, his frustrations were coming to a head. Then after a moment, he realized his stupidity.

Grabbing the chest, he raised it upwards and simply, dropped it. The shabby, splintered wood immediately fell apart after colliding with the ground.

In the debris of the chest lay a burgundy-red book, an air of nobility surrounding it.

On the front cover, inlaid in gold lettering were the words, "Fury Fist".

Inside the tome were arcane runes, and opening the book, the runes peeled themselves off the pages and swam through the air towards Eidiri.

"Would you like to learn the skill Fury Fist?" prompted the interface.

Fury Fist: Deal a heavy blow towards a single target, this strike has a chance to cripple temporarily. This move deals 150% of your base ATK Dmg, and can critically strike as well.

- Costs 5 mana per cast

A blinking yes/no option rested beneath the prompt and after a quick glance over the skill's description, he quickly decided to learn the skill.

Most of the players wouldn't even have any skills as skill books such as these would be quite uncommon and blocked by a large number of obstacles.

Developing the game in such a way steers the player base to developing more of their own skills and techniques,

Deciding to take the skill for a spin, so to speak, he followed the path back to the outer edges of the woods, continuing to farm the LVL 1 kobolds.

Despite the Lvl 1 kobolds no longer being as efficient in terms of exp yield, there were no other sources of exp that had been discovered as of yet, at least that the players could actually take on in winning fights.

As Eidiri swung his fist, a red glow encapsulated the blow, hammering into the kobold and knocking it down. Before it used to take 4 to 5 hits to deal with a kobold, but with repeated usage of the skill, it could be driven down to as little as 3.

The downside of the increase of efficiency; however, would be that his mana bar would be sapped after about 5 uses.

Walking back and away from the woods, he headed to the makeshift camp that the players had set up along the outskirts, preparing himself to log out.

Before he logged out though, he wrote on his experiences in a blog post of his under his aliasEidiri, posting a link to it in the forums. It recounted his experience with the fully grown kobolds as well as how he found the skill book.

After a bit, it started to gain a little bit of traction and received a couple of upvotes here and there. For a nobody that was just starting off, it wasn't too bad.
