17 Auction

After the Horde Leader had been defeated, the trio went up to the corpse, checking for loot.

Surely after such a difficult fight, there would be plenty of great loot, things like rare armors and skills flashed through their minds.

With a colossal amount of effort, they managed to shift the corpse over, it rolling over with a giant thump.

After moving the corpse, a wonderful sight greeted all of them, the gentle glistening sparkle indicating rare loot.

Eidiri then collected all the loot, placing them within his inventory.

"What did we get after all that work boss?" Kendrick asked.

"Hold up, gimme a minute. Lemme actually look at this first," Eidiri told him.

Three items had dropped from the Leader, a skill book, a dagger, a piece of armor, as well as a fairly decent amount of Exp.

After a cursory glance, the short-sword was revealed to be the Malevolent Claw, the armor being a headpiece for a gray tier set.

The set being called the Vile Poisoner, when the set was fully completed, it would grant a bonus effect of applying poison stacks onto the enemy whenever they attacked.

Such a passive could be compared to that of Thorns, just rather instead of flat damage, it would continue over time.

Of course, as the number of stacks increased, so would the poison damage, the number of stacks capping off at 6 when the stacks were maxed out 3 extra damage per tick would be applied for a duration of 5 seconds.

However, seeing as they didn't have the full set, they could only make do with the helmet, this of course being the Poisoner Helm.

When the Poisoner Helm was equipped it would grant 3 extra armor; armor being a stat separate from that of the main stats (Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity, Speed, Luck, etc.) and reduce a portion of the damage taken per hit.

As for the Malevolent Claw, it wasn't quite as good as the Steel Song that Eidiri had forged himself, as such he let the other two see which one would get it, seeing how their weapons were inferior to it.

Before they decided on whether Ken or Edgar would get it, they decided to take a look at the details themselves, just to see if they really fancied the weapon or not.

Sharing the weapon details to them, a screen of light displaying its information was projected into the air. This screen of course, only being visible to those within the party.

"Malevolent Claw - A claw from the Prehistoric Giants Rats of old. Time and erosion have made this a facsimile of the glory it once possessed, essentially ruining its former integrity. The Venom of lesser rats has permanently stained it, ensuring the poisoning of its victims.

+4 ATK

Rat Venom: Upon hitting a target, trigger a 2% chance of poisoning the chosen target. If the target is successfully poisoned then they take poison Dmg of 0.002% of the target's max health until the next tick of damage would be fatal."

Seeing the effect, Edgar who favored the rogue playstyle immediately wanted to possess the short-sword.

Such an effect would be perfect for hit and run tactics, and while it wouldn't be the burst assassin, as long as he properly kited them and sneaked in enough hits for the effect to proc, then he could practically be invincible.

Seeing this, Ken decided to relent on his desires for the sword, "Bro you can take it. It's more suitable for you anyways. We'll just find something for me later eventually."

As for the skill book, much like the Fury Fist book, Eidiri had discovered previously, this skill was also a gray-tier.

Embroidered on the front cover was the stylized lettering of, "Wither Strike."

The Wither Strike would essentially grant the weapon of the wielder the power of the Giant Rat for a brief duration of time, buffing each strike.

The skill would increase damage by a flat amount of 1.2, and while Eidiri desired the skill book, skill books were far too precious and were needed to access the village.

In order to progress faster, it would be better to get the others into the village, to begin their professions, earning currency to fund their operations.

After expressing his line of thought, Eidiri made the executive decision to hand over the book to Ken, given that Edgar got the weapon, and he could already enter the village.

After the handling of the skill book and the weapon were settled, the only issue they had was who deserved the armor.

"You should take it Eidiri. Man, it's really weird to call you Eidiri by the way you know?" Edgar remarked.

"Yea no you should take. I got the book and Ed already has the weapon, so you should take the armor. Fair right?" Ken added, trying to further convince Eidiri.

"Fine, fine. I'll take it. Little extra survivability never hurt anyone."

"Anyway it's been a bit already, have you gotten anything from the auction?" Edgar asked.

"Oh damn! I completely forgot about that. Hold up, gimme a quick sec, I'm gonna go check up on that real quick," Eidiri said.

"No need, I took a bride glance earlier man. You're goddamn rich now bro," Ken commented.

"Wait what do you mean? Surely they couldn't have sold for that much! They're only sub-par. Extra emphasis on that 'sub' part," Eidiri exclaimed in disbelief.

Edgar opened up the forums for himself now, "Nah, dude you got to check the forums. It's actually wild out here. These major orgs are actually brawling for any early game advantages. Right now they're whaling out."

Having to see this for himself, Eidiri took a look at the post that he made not but 4 hours ago at this point.

Most of the knives had been sold, only 2 were still bidding, and surprisingly enough, one of the knives was going for 60k USD while the other one was going for 57k USD.

"Wait this can't be, who would actually be so stupid?" Eidiri cried out, feeling visible pain at the thought of all that money spent on some low-tier knife he had casually made.

The other knives had gone for around the same price range, filling his account with cash.

The forum was going wild and Eidiri's inbox was once again filled with notifications, many of them being pretty significant organizations and guilds who held some sway in the industry.

From the 4 class to 2nd, he hadn't quite reached the attention of the 1st class groups, but he was steadily making his way there.

Someone who was already progressing the game whole everyone else was fooling around with sticks, who wouldn't want 'em?
