Mark Frayer is like many who, after hearing about the release of the first VR game PERSIST, rushed to buy it. However, after playing for five years his life has gotten worse and worse. With bills to pay and no time to lose he starts playing in tournaments using his warrior game character, but because of bad skills and equipment he never wins. Mark, after experiencing defeat to an average gamer, receives a mysterious phone call, which turns his life around while starting a new one.
