1 The Nerd

"Fck! Move away you fat nerd!"

Yelled the nasty man as he bumped into a nerdy woman while walking in the hallway of Beverly Gems University.

"I'm sorry."

The woman just humbly apologised.

The Nerd's name is Betta. She's Ugly, undeniably. She's also fat and Nerdy type of woman. The bullies love her so much that her everyday in school is such a nightmare.

She's in second year college, taking up Psychology course. Well, nobody cares anyway.

As She walks down the hall going to her next class which unfortunately located at the tourism building of their school (Where people are very sophisticated about beauty) Everyone is looking at her as if she's a new celebrity, in a bad way.

Betta just looked at them, without any sadness in her face. She's insulted and talked about in every corner where students see her.

"why she here, what a knock off. "

A guy with full face of foundation whispered, but loud enough for the whole area to hear.

Everybody just laugh.

"what a disgrace! She's not supposed to be in this school."

Says the woman who's dress looked like she ran out of fabric.

Betta just sighed, ignored them and walked down the hall as if nothing happened.

"Betta, hey!"

A running guy called her from behind. It is Thean. Her only and long time friend here at Beverly Gems.

"hello Thean." says Betta as they both walk now on the hallway.

"So How was your weekend?" he asked.

"Just fine." She calmly replied

Betta noticed how everybody stares at Thean as if he's the most stupid person in the world, and the fact that they looked like mother and child makes it worst.

"you know you should really stop hanging out with me like this especially when I'm here at this department. Everybody thinks you're a fool and I'm your sugar mommy."

Thean laughed.

"that's exaggerating it. Besides, why would I let those judgemental freaks control who I should be with? I like hanging out with you, I think you're cool."

Betta blushed a bit but it looks like she has also became cautious.

As she enter her classroom, her entire existence there apparently feels like she's an outcast because her seat is located at the back, in the left corner, near the trash can.

She walked in the isle and one of her sassy girl classmate tripped her. It was a little delayed, she was startled, but she apparently fell down straight flat on the floor.

"Betta! " Thean shouted

Everybody laughed. Some even took a picture.

"phew. That was close. Hope no one noticed."

Betta whispered by herself as she looked around while laying flat on the floor.

"Oh sorry dear. It was an accident. Like you."

Says the sassy girl who tripped her.

Betta stood up slowly and just nod to the girl.

"could you stop bullying Betta, Angela? You're being a bitch!" Thean snapped.

"I said its an accident. Besides you should really stop defending her, it doesn't suits you, you're too handsome for that." Angela said while tapping a bit of a face powder on her face.

"Its none of your business. Stop this shit while I can-" Betta held Thean's hand and said "that's enough, come on its not worth it." Thean just breathed deeply and they walked to their seats.

Everybody became silent as their professor entered the room. It was professor Launton. He's eating a banana as he entered.

And he purposely threw the banana' s peel into Betta's face.

"Oh sorry Betta, Missed the bin. Can you put it in?"

Once again her classmates laughed, except for Thean who glared into the professor harshly.

Betta Just did what the professor said. She doesn't feel any sadness or anger. In fact this whole 'student/nerd' thing is just a small part of her life. She enjoys it.

The class started and the lesson goes on boring train.

Suddenly, Betta heard a small beep from her ears. She wears an ADCD or Automatic Discreet communication device; an advanced phone that automatically does what the user wants in a manner of gesture, it has a very thin wire, almost impossible to see, connected to Betta's left ear where she had her hair down, and a built-in superior microphone that can absorb the faintest whisper of the user.

Someone's calling her ADCD so she did the gesture to answer it.

"One, we needed you at the coast!"

Says the voice on the device.

"Three, I'm undercover."

Betta whispered back.

"I'll explain to Launton."

The voice said, pertaining to their professor.

"Better pull this one nicely. Location?"

"35 Southern east, exactly 30mins Ufat from your location." the voice explained.

Betta's thinking its too far. Ufat or Ultra fast air transmission alone is the fastest air vehicle in the world, where only her company have, and still it will take 30mins to get there.

"10 minutes." said Betta as she hung up the phone.

She stood up and walk straight to the classroom door when Professor Launton called her.

"Betta, where exactly are you going?"

Betta slowly turned her head towards Prof Launton and glared at him.

Note: When Betta glares beware.. Her sharp eyes will let you know you shouldn't move, or she will cut down your freewill.
