48 Chapter 48

It was late afternoon when they decided to return back. They walked to the spot where the carriage is left along with the knights.

"It was fun" Harrison said.

"I guess so" Alice said with a smile.

After leaving the library, they visited the garden of the WelFord Academy. It was a beautiful well-maintained garden with a big fountain in the middle. After enjoying its beauty for sometime they left the Academy and wandered around the streets.

"Lady Etkinson, do you think we have become close after this?" Harrison asked suddenly.

"I think so" Alice said.

"I asked my father for this hoping we would get close" Harrison said, blushing.

'Stop blushing' Alice wanted to shout.

Alice felt comfortable around him today, as he was not blushing or saying some cheesy words, because he was too excited to explore more places. She bet that there many new things he saw today, that he would never find in the north.

The north is said to be a cold place, which is always enveloped in snow, while the east is a dry place where barely ever snow appears. Difference in the culture is expected. The things which are normal for her, are new for him, so he lapped around like an excited child.

It was fun to see his eyes sparkle when he ate the street food or the food they ate at the restaurant for lunch. Even today, there have been people doing street performance and she enjoyed seeing him their show with wide eyes. There was even a musician with his bass, playing a nice melody. She saw him standing there and listening to the music he played.

All in all, the day was too exciting for him.

"Lady Etkinson" Harrison called, "can we be called friends?"

"We have already become friends, Lord Fogriever" Alice said.

"Then can I call you Alicia?" Harrison asked excitedly.

Alice sighed.

"Lord Fogriever, you know if a man calls a lady by her name, then people will misunderstand" Alice said.

"But you allowed your childhood friend to call you by your name" Harrison said, complaining.

'Is he talking about Maggie?' Alice thought.

"What was his name? I forgot his name" Harrison said thinking hard.

'His?' Alice questioned.

'Is he talking about Cyneric Byrde? The capture target in the game?' Alice immediately understood.

"Ah… whatever. I heard your father helped his father and that is how you got close. Even my father came here asking for your father's help, so doesn't that put us in same boat" Harrison complained.

'Father helped Cyneric's father, who is the Pope of the Church. And that was how they became friends' Alice thought.

She rummaged her brain to remember if any past of Alicia and Cyneric has been mentioned in the game. But however hard she thought, she couldn't remember anything.

"What help?" Alice asked sharply.

Harrison looked at her. Again, her serious face made him think she is angry.

"I am sorry. I did not mean to bring him up. I was just jealous of him. I am sorry. Ah… this mouth of mine…." Harrison said worriedly.

"Shut up" Alice shouted.

Harrison became silent. She turned and walked forward, showing him her back, as Harrison silently followed her.

'This guy' she thought inwardly, 'why is he always making me dig into the things that I want to ignore?'
