Chapter 47

The library of the WelFord Academy was a big room filled with tall shelves. It has two floors. And both the floors are filled with thousands of books. There are chairs and tables arranged for sitting. The floor was made of marbles and curtains were made of silk.

On the right side of the library there were no walls, but big glass shields took their place. The tickling morning sunlight that got reflected from the glass, making the readers feel refreshed, as they sat beside them with their respective books.

As Harrison looked around, in an unfamiliar place, where a person can even here the sound of the breeze, Alice interrupted him.

"Let's go" Alice said returning from the reception.

"You came quickly" he said.

"I can't let my guest wait for long" Alice said with a smile.

Normally, only students and professors are allowed inside the library, but Alice being a special guest, can enter the library with any problems. And can even bring another guest with her.

"Follow me. And remember my warning. Do not make any sound" she said.

Harrison nodded obediently.

She turned and lead the way. They went to the second floor of the library and after walking among many shelves, they finally stopped. There was a locked door in front of them. Alice removed a key from her purse. She immediately inserted into the hole of the door knob and twisted it.

A click sound came from the door signaling that it is now open.

"Hey, is it fine to go inside?" Harrison asked worriedly.

"Yes. Why do you think I went to the reception? For the permission to let you enter? It is to retrieve this key" Alice said.

She opened the door and entered with no worries, as if she has done it many times. Harrison entered the room worriedly. It was a dim room with many books stacked on each other forming tall towers. There were no shelves in this room. No chairs or tables. Just books piled up on each other.

Alice walked through them and Harrison followed her. Because of his huge physique, he would brush through the books and even made the tower of books fall. As he was about to pick up, Alice stopped him.

"Leave them. No one will bother them till the year end" Alice said.'

"What is this room?" Harrison asked.

"It is the room where old books are kept. They will be thrown away or sent to orphanage. Being the famous Academy, WelFord Academy will renew its list if books every year. And the books that are thought useless or which are estimated to be used less by the students are sent out and new updated versions of those books will take their place."

"And this is the place where they keep those books, I guess" Harrison said.

"Right. Normally only staff are allowed here but…." Alice said in a tone asking him to understand rest of the story.

"Being a princess really comes handy" Harrison said.

"If you hold the power, you should use it. Thinking that it is unfair to others and feeling bad about it is the waste of the opportunity" Alice said.

She turned and walked straight, leading the path.

She stopped in front of the glass windows and turned. She sat down on the ground, facing Harrison, turned her face right and adjusted her eyes so that she can look outside comfortably.

"Isn't it beautiful?" she said.

Harrison walked towards the glass panes and looked out. The garden outside was green and magnificent. With the morning sun falling on the leaves, and beautiful flowers blooming happily, it looked like scenery drawn out of a painting. The soft breeze and the clear blue sky, enveloped him with positive energy making him feel good. A soft smile appeared on Harrison's tough face.

"Yes, it is" Harrison said standing beside Alice.

He then looked towards Alice, who was busy peeping out.

"I heard that you spend most of your in the library that people it has become your second room" Harrison said.

Alice looked at him.

"They aren't wrong" she said.

"I wanted to know why do you love to read so much. When I was young, I would always find excuses to run away from those books."

"Do you people study?" Alice asked, surprised.

"No. People from my place learn to use weapons at young age. They only give preference to learn how to fight. So they are all uneducated but I am the future heir, so I cannot be illiterate" Harrison explained.

"Ah… right. So did you come here to understand my world?" Alice asked.

"You can say that" Harrison replied honestly.

"Did you understand?" Alice asked curiously.

"I tried but I couldn't" he said sadly.

'What can you expect from this dense guy?' Alice questioned herself.

But it did not matter. The fact that he tried to peek into her world, somehow made her happy.
