39 Chapter 39

With the silence surrounded around her, Alice picked up the book from the pile of the books around her. She flipped through the pages and stopped at the page she recognized. Stretching her body lazily, she peacefully read the contents in that page.

"Woooooo."

"Hit. Hit. Hit. Hit. Hit."

"Yeeeessssss."

She heard some voices coming from the window. Realizing who were making this noise, she tried to ignore them and concentrate on reading. But those loud noises are really distracting her. She went to the window and looked outside.

A bunch of men with bare chest, were standing outside a circle and cheering loudly for the two men fighting inside. The two men inside the circle, were hugging each other with angry faces, trying to defeat each other.

As she looked at those two, who were only wearing pants, showing off their well-made upper body, their hair as long as hers, with the tattoos running all around their chests and hands, and voices roaring out with energy, she remembered the MMA fighters.

In her past life, she had nephew who was fan of fighters. He would always tell her how cool they are. How they punch and how they fight. Whenever he visited her house, he would always show her their fights and explain all their moves. Though she did not understand any. She just listened to him because he is a cute child.

Alice closed the window and tried to continue reading but couldn't. She could still hear voices clear. So, she moved to the deepest part of the library, but still failed to read.

Meanwhile, Daniel and the knights of the eastern duchy watched the people of the north curiously instead of practicing swords. When the young master of North noticed the serious gazes aiming at them, he looked at the extra audience staring at them.

"Do you want to join?" he shouted at them.

Noticing, other Northern soldiers turned towards the Eastern knights when he shouted. Realizing their mistake, the Etkinson knights looked around, trying to act indifferent. But Daniel who stood in middle walked towards Harrison Fogriever.

"We can if you don't mind" he said.

"Why would we?" Harrison asked, inviting them.

The knights rejoicing, as they can see something new, ran towards the crowd. The northern soldiers welcomed them with open hands. Though the Eastern knights felt awkward at first, but feeling the crazy waves of the people around them, they let themselves be carried with the atmosphere.

As Alice tried her best to concentrate and not get herself carried away, her head started to throb. It has already been an hour, and she cursed them to stop.

"Young master, do it."

"Show them the power of the East."

"Do it, young master."

Alice looked up from her book when she heard a different type of cheering. She looked out with curiosity, and found even the Etkinson knights joined the crowd. Inside the circle there were two kids fighting. Though she couldn't see their faces as she was far away, the shinning blonde hair immediately clicked a face in her head.

"Danny" she called.

The book slipped from her hand and fell down with thud. Ignoring the voice, Alice ran outside. She opened the library door and ran downstairs, worried. As she reached the main hall, she saw few servants carrying the bandaged and medicines.

She then saw Dr. Charles hurrying upstairs.

Worried, she stopped a servant and asked, "what happened?"

"Milady, it seems Young Master is injured" the servant answered obediently.

As soon as Alice heard she ran towards her brother's room. When she opened the door, she found Dr. Charles treating the Daniel who is lying on bed with a plastered hand.

"Dr. Charles, is he alright?" Alice asked.

"Well, he doesn't have any serious injury. Your opponent was very thoughtful while fighting. He did not give you any major injury" Dr. Charles said, "but your left hand will need few weeks to heal."

"Those people of North. Are they monsters? How can they mold a child's hand so mercilessly?" Alice cursed them angrily when she saw her brother's hand enveloped in bandages.

"Sister, it isn't…"

Knock. Knock.

As Daniel tried to explain, all heard a knock at the door. When all looked towards the door, they found a tall and huge man with long purple hair tied in a pony, with cloudy-grey eyes looking at them. There was a child beside him, who looks a bit older than Daniel.

The child had well developed body for a young age. His strong hands had perfect muscles. He young face, with sapphire eyes glowed in sweat. As he looked around, his short navy hair fluttered in air.

Alice, realizing the possibility of them hearing what she just said, looked around.

"Liam, what are you doing here?" Daniel asked.

"I just came here to see if you were fine" the boy replied.

"I am fine. Don't worry" Daniel said with a smile.

"That is good" he said and then he turned towards Alice.

"And one more thing, I didn't break your hand because I wanted to. Have those hands got any strength? They broke like twigs" the boy explained.

Alice immediately understood at whom is the explanation directed to. Well, it can be understood. The child, though looked young, but is strong enough to break even her body in two

"But how can you fight him?" Alice tried to defend herself, "you are older them him, stronger than him, you should have known that such accidents might happen."

"I'm just ten-years-old" the boy shouted.

"What? Ten? Are you serious?" Alice asked, unable to accept the truth.

He looks taller and stronger than a ten-year old child.

"Lady Etkinson, he is telling truth" Harrison Fogriever interrupted.

Alice stared at the boy as she tried to accept the truth.

"It is fine, Liam. I was the one who joined to fight. And injuries are common when you fight. Liam, after seeing you fight so amazingly, I really want to become your friend" Daniel said with sparkling eyes.

Ever since he saw the people of North, he really admired their strong structure. Though they look scary, but their presence made him feel protected. He really liked that. As he saw them, he really wanted to become like them, someone who can make others feel they are safe.

"Fine" Liam said with a smile.

"And forgive my sister. She is just worried about me" Daniel said.

"Hey, for the sake of my friend, I forgive you" he snapped at Alice.

"Yeah, whatever" Alice mumbled.

"Sister, you can go. I am fine" Daniel pleaded.

'He just made a new friend and already left his sister' Alice thought.

Alice actually understood his concern. She was really making everyone uncomfortable with her worries. She left the room with saying anything.
