Chapter 14

"Alice" the duchess walked towards Alice, with a wide smile.

She was pushing a small table, with bunch of dishes on it.

"Yes mother" Alice responded, completely alerted. She got up from the bed and sat on the reading table placed in the left of the room.

It was already time for lunch. The afternoon sun was bright and sunlight was pouring into her room, making the room bright and warm. She remembered her conversation with Dr. Charles earlier.

He suddenly said that it was better for her to have her meals in her room. Though she felt suspicious, but she cannot pry into it. She only silently nodded, accepting his advice.

"Alice, I have good news for you" duchess said as she brushed her step-daughter's hair.

Ever since Alice transmigrated, all her meals were laid by the duchess personally. She did not let any other servant to bother them. Till now, Alice thought that it was undeniable mother's love that sincerely worries for her ill daughter. But know, she sees her in different light.

This lady is the one who directed Alice to dooms path. She cannot ignore the fact and relax around as she did it in the past few days. She has to figure out what she wants from her and act accordingly.

"What is it, mother?" Alice asked, with a wide smile.

"We are going to our fief day after tomorrow. You, me, your father, Daniel, Stella, and even Emma" Diana Etkinson declared loudly.

What is this lady planning? Alice could not help but be suspicious of her.

Then she remembered something.

We are shifting there permanently. We are leaving this place forever

This what Emma said to her the other day.

As she remembered her conversation, she became more confused.

Why? She wondered.

Suddenly she felt a light headache. She held her head and moaned in pain.

"Alice are you alright?" the duchess asked, concerned.

"I am suddenly having head ache" Alice said.

"Oh my goodness. Alice, wait. I will immediately call for the doctor" the duchess said.

"Mother" Alice held her mother's hand and asked, "father, isn't he the prime minister of the kingdom. How can he come with us?"

This is question she desperately want to ask.

"Ah… don't worry. He is resigning from his job" the duchess said lightly.

This answer threw Alice in even deeper puddle. As the truth confused her, she felt even more miserable, resulting her head blasting from the pain. To the point, that she felt that it was breaking into several pieces. The same pain she felt last time.

Her entire body started to sweat. Her consciousness became dizzy. And the only she felt in her entire body was pain.

Looking at her dreadful face, the duchess could not do anything but to carry her and lay her down on to the bed.

"Alice, wait, I will call for Dr. Charles now" she said and ran out of the room.

Alice saw her step-mother run out of the room.

Is she faking it? but it feels so real? If she is really acting, then no wonder the real Alice fell into her trap. No wonder she became a villainess under her guidance.

But something is really wrong with the flow of story.

Alicia in the game remained in capital even after the accident. Even her whole family stayed with her. Her father was still in the capital. Working as the prime minister and supporting his spoiled daughter. What resignation? What shifting permanently to fief? Nothing like this happened in the original story.

As she laid in the bed, she wondered what is happening.
