The Wild Wolf Ryett

The sun's rays painted a tinge of orange hues through the sky. The faint chirping of birds spread their wings and glided across the horizon to explore a new day. Cars, like drizzles of rain, poured into the traffic lanes, roads, streets, and all parts of the city. Doors opened, and people from all walks of life treaded forward like fish in the sea. All kinds of noises mixed together and formed lively symphonies. Arianne prefers this picturesque scene filled with vigor and vitality, unlike the dreary and hopeless doomsday.

Even with a simple dress on and a pair of pointed doll shoes, Arianne's captivating figure still manages to attract numerous pairs of eyes. The outline of her body alone was enough for men to drool. Some single men tried to initiate a talk, but her verdant eyes, almost turning to the slits of the predatory python, made them step back. However, they were still quite a persistent few who loved a challenge and didn't mind her feisty attitude. Men like to conquer, and a challenge was welcomed.

The system notification kept issuing beeping sounds and introducing names of captureable targets in the vicinity. A bunch of 1 and 2 stars popped up. Arianne was beyond annoyed. The patience she had cultivated from a young age was long gone after experiencing horrendous events; therefore, she couldn't maintain a good face for these people.

"I'm not available. I have a fiancée", Arianne uttered in an emotionless tone. Her waist-length hair with soft curls at the ends set off gentle waves. In addition, her face, more beautiful than the water nymphs, made everything pale in comparison, and not to mention that body, which possessed the perfect curves in all places. She looked like a mermaid from the legends that was lost in the mortal world.

The men weren't bothered by her nonchalance; they became more spirited. They flexed their branded watches and suits like male peacocks.

"It isn't marriage yet. The lady is still single."

"Even the lady is married. I do not mind."

"Mr. Firson, if your fiancée knew of your actions today, what kind of expression would she make?"

"She's abroad, and she wouldn't mind it at all."

Arianne wasn't grateful or happy at all. She had more pressing matters to handle. "Excuse me." She lifted her legs and strode towards the gap, aiming to escape the current predicament, but these guys didn't let her at all and filled the gap in their circle.

"Miss, a day's worth of spring is not wasted. Maybe our encounter was fateful, and how about we deepen the entanglement?" A man wearing a wretched smile blocked her way. The others didn't have any words to say, a clear indication that man has the highest status among them.

"Step away or I'll punch you." Arianne bit her lips and threatened him.

The man wasn't afraid and even teased her. He brought his cheek full of black spots and wrinkles closer to her. Judging from her attire, she wouldn't have an illustrious background if she ever punched him; it would also be very good because he would have a handle on her, making his plans easier. "If the lady will be happy, then this gentleman will comply."

A vein throbbed on her forehead, and instead of using her fist, a kick landed on the man's crotch, breaking his jewels.

"Ahhhh!" A scream akin to a pig being butchered echoed in the surroundings, drawing a large crowd. The men encircling her were shocked by her strength, and they backed off, intending to distance themselves from her limbs. They unconsciously squeezed their legs as their gaze landed on the man rolling over the floor, wincing and wailing in great pain. That really must have hurt. The man's face was beyond pale, and even his pupils were almost covered with whiteness. They somehow felt very lucky.

"Bitch! I will sue you and destroy your family and tear you to pieces." His saliva sprayed all over, making the onlookers refrain their laughter.

Arianne was about to reply when a hearty, youthful laugh filled with derision beat her to it. "If you can destroy Cromwell's foundation, be my guest."

"Cromwell? If this lady is from Cromwell, then could it be that Arianne Cromwell?"

"No, it's impossible. A person from the Cromwell family won't choose to loiter around a mall."

"Then are you saying the nominal heir of the Global Supply Chain of Supermarkets is lying?"

The smart people closed their mouths immediately and escaped with their tails tucked between their legs.

A hand with a slight tan patted Arianne's shoulder. She spun her head and was met with a pair of eyes bluer than the sky. A boy around her age smirked and greeted her with enthusiasm. His hair was tousled in a messy hairstyle. "Good morning."

Arianne kept herself from beating him up. "Good morning, Mr. Andrews." She never thought of encountering the wild wolf, one of Annette's harem, the most loyal of the bunch, Ryett Andrews. If Annette schemes in the dark, Ryett is the opposite; he was very straightforward in expressing his dislike for her. Arianne didn't know how she offended him, but he would pop out often and ruin her clothes, food, water, and bag. If it weren't doomsday, she would easily forgive him; unfortunately, those things were earned by putting her life on the line. Ryett's actions were clearly outrageous, but he escapes responsibility all the time because Annette keeps defending him.

"What's a lady of your status doing around here and all alone? Did you have Mr. Magnus' permission?" A fleeting, playful smile danced around Ryett's lips. He withdrew his hand and stuffed them both inside his pockets. His appearance wasn't striking like Laurence's, nor did he have an inkling of Magnus' morbid beauty. His looks were very warm and amicable, a fitting match for his sunny disposition. He's attending the same school as Arianne, making them both acquaintances. Though Arianne remained focused on her studies, she could still pick up on his name being mentioned during the girls' conversations in the hallway. Ryett had always been approachable and friendly, making him very popular, and even Arianne and Annette had good impressions of him. However, this little milk dog was nowhere near friendly when doomsday came. He could kill undead with a smiling face and fawn over Annette while drenched in blood.

A beeping sound again resounded inside her mind, and without hesitation, she decided to start with him. Without a loyal dog by her side, how will Annette fare?

Arianne suppressed the smile threatening to bloom. "He doesn't know. I'm not a child anymore."

Ryett tilted his head and secretly scanned her figure, which was once veiled by layers of long fabric. His eyes were tainted with amusement. "Yeah, Miss Arianne is all grown up now."
