2 Her story

The girl sighed. She regretted judging Tulip without knowing the full story. She introduced herself.

"My name is Lily Lawrence."

"Nice to meet you Lily" Tulip said.

Suddenly Lily chuckled "Isn't it funny how we're both named after flowers?".

At this Tulip lost control and laughed really loudly causing Lily to look at Tulip weirdly. Tulip controlled herself seeing Lily's expression.

"I'm sorry, please continue with your story." She said as she calmed down.

Lily started to narrate her story.

Lily's childhood was a happy childhood. She was the only child of her parents and so she was spoiled rotten. So much so that she became very overbearing and gained a superiority complex.

After she completed her graduate degree she was married off to Zachary Lawrence the young heir to Lawrence Enterprises. Her marriage was not out of mutual love but a business agreement between both their grandfathers. Despite this, she had fallen in love with him at first sight and hoped for a happy marriage but Zachary found her unpleasant to his eyes.

He hated her existence. For him she was nothing but a spoiled princess. He refused to marry her. He did every possible thing that he could to break the agreement, but his grandfather threatened him with his inheritance, saying he wouldn't receive it if he backed out. Reluctantly, he married her.

It had been a whole year since they were married but nothing had improved. Everyday she saw a different woman sleeping with her husband. She became so jealous and hurt that she started to scheme against those mistresses. Her husband only hated her more after that, he found her disgusting and called her a scheming bitch. He never stayed at home. It was so bad that he wouldn't even breathe the same air that she did.

Today was his birthday party and Lily had never cooked in her life but she learnt how to just for him. Today she prepared a cake for him but as she entered the hall she saw her husband cutting the cake with his most recent mistress. In front of the partygoers, she had become a laughing stock. Everyone was looking at her in amusement and mocking her because she was just a wife in name.

A tear rolled down Lily's face as she spoke.

Tulip pitied the girl. She understood how Lily must have felt, since she had also been through the same thing. Stood up at the altar, she had become a major laughing stock.

Lily burst out crying. Tulip didn't say anything, she just let her cry out all the pain that she was hiding inside her for so long.

'Why was this happening to her?' Lily was tired of the humiliation.
