30 Is that Xiu Ying?

Subconsciously, his grip on his sword tightened. With firm steps, he ascended, barely making a sound.

As the tattoo got hotter, he could feel a faint tug in his heart. His master called for him.

As he reached the top, Li Chen saw dried blood that stained the stairs. When he reached the top, he scanned the wide platform filled with corpses.

Crimson stained the ground and he identified the men as Xiu Ying's underlings. 'What happened here?' he thought.

His eyes wandered and he squatted, inspecting a corpse. 'Claw marks?' Li Chen's eyes dilated and he quickly remembered Tiger Yi's fist when he fought Xiu Ying.

'It can't be.'

His train of thoughts screeched to a halt when a roar pierced through the air and a man shot through the roof and landed on the tilted ground of the courtyard.

Approaching the dying man, he saw blood gushing from his orifices. His chest was ripped open by a weapon, which Li Chen linked to Pig Yun's cleaver!

A gleam flashed through his eyes and he flickered into the building following the trial of blood and corpses that was leading to the main hall.

"You bunch of bastards, how can you believe the words of a sect elder over your leader?" Tiger Yi, who held the throat of a former companion, roared.

Although blood slid down the corners of his lips and his injuries were heavy, Tiger Yi stood firm. Ripping the man's throat, he threw the man toward the others, who made a semicircle, blocking the exit of the main hall.

"AHH!" Pig Yun roared and dashed forward. Two cultivators swung their swords but they bounced off his bronze skin!

Recklessly swinging his cleavers, he mowed down the cultivators but received a devastating punch.

CLANG—!

CLANG—!

Pig Yun dropped to his knees, and his cleavers hit the ground. The power of the punch wasn't what defeated him; it was exhaustion.

"Brother Yi! Get the antidote for Miss!" Having issued his last words to someone worthy of being his martial brother, Pig Yun grabbed those around him, revealing the man at the back, whose expression turned ugly.

"Kill him!"

Tiger Yi took the opportunity. He moved like the wind. His movement was predictable but many couldn't react fast enough.

However, the crowded space severely impacted Tiger Yi's strength. "Get the sack!" The man, who had short hair and a tattoo of a green snake on the right part of his face, snickered.

His predatory eyes feasted on the beauty who fell for the tricks of her subordinates. This was supposed to be a celebration of her breakthrough into the Immortal Daoist level, but the celebration had turned into a slaughter.

A petty grand elder of one of the sects she defeated had lured her men with the fat meat of being inner disciples.

It was stupid bait but what more did anyone expect from men who only saw things in one direction?

"Tsk! I must say, Miss Ying, even though the poison made you freeze, you still have that elegance." The man commended and was awed at Xiu Ying, who sat on her grand chair.

In her hand was a white ceramic bowl that contained the poisoned wine. The effects made her result in a stationary position or her internal organs would turn to mush!

Since dawn, the battle has continued until dusk. She had kept that posture like a statue, but the killing intent in her eyes was like magma.

"I've got the sack." A man shouted. At that moment, the doors were pushed open, revealing a golden mask that had a frightening hue due to the lanterns.

SHING—!

Unsheathing his sword, he walked forward. With each step, two or three shadows would swoosh out of him.

His sword intent boosted his strength by 40 percent and he was now a 18-star immortal human, a result of his three weeks of constant cultivation.

Each shadow delivered a swift, lethal strike. Akin to a mantis!

The man with the antidote stomped the ground and soared but the bottom of a sheath slammed his chest.

He fell to the ground, clutching his chest. "You were gone for just a little over two months. How did you grow this much?!"

Sadly, he could never get his response as Tiger Yi killed him, searched him, and brought out a vial. He took out a green pill and fed Xiu Ying, whose eyes were locked on the tall man standing before her.

His eyes were as dark as the night and a certain gleam lurked within. This Li Chen wasn't the inexperienced man she sent off.

Slowly, raising her head, Xiu Ying's eyes locked with Li Chen. "You came," her horse voice flowed out of her throat.

[I was close by.] Li Chen responded softly.

Xiu Ying's angry gaze sliced over to those who were escaping. With her inner sight, she could see the non-combatants also fleeing.

"Kill them all." Her killing intent filled the room and Li Chen nodded.

He flickered out of the manor, slaying those in his path like a machine programmed to kill. They cultivated mortal-grade manuals so none of them could match the thick energy of a heaven-grade one.

'I can't reach them!' he hissed, staring at four cultivators who fled on flying swords. They soared over the trees, their expressions filled with mockery.

Suddenly, time paused, and the tablet, cushion, and table appeared.

A devious glint flashed through Li Chen's eyes and he sat down, lifted his ink pen and gazed at the four men.

'How important are they?!'

Inconsequential to the plot

[Good.] Since he had free reign, Li Chen began to draw their future!

He made them seek refuge in a cave and drew four green daemon calamites. These were a level above the black daemon calamites!

[Enjoy your future.] He snickered as the tablet and the set vanished. Rising to his feet, he crossed his arms.

Focused on the men who vanished into the distance, Li Chen scoffed, turned, and walked into the manor.

He walked into the innermost part. Leaning against the wall, he crossed his arm and waited for Tiger Yi, who was inside Xiu Ying's room, to bring news.

[Did you know this would happen?]

Answers will be revealed in a different dimension.

[What's that supposed to mean?]

He received no response. 'Is it me or did Xiu Ying stop dressing seductively after I stopped drawing her?' he thought, recalling Xiu Ying's attire.

He had always drawn her exposing bits of her skin, especially her cleavage and shoulders. However, his 'co-author' was clearly way more mature than him and preferred dressing the characters according to the times.

His thoughts vanished along with the sound of the doors opening. Li Chen looked past Tiger Yi and saw something that shook his heart.

Lying on the bed was a celestial beauty, greatly surpassing the Xiu Ying he knew. And her hair wasn't short, brown, or curly.

She turned, and some strands of her hair made a veil over her enchanting phoenix eyes, which locked on him.

'It can't be!' Li Chen gasped, and his grip on his sword loosened.

The moment Tiger Yi closed the door, Li Chen heard the sound of someone typing loudly on a keyboard.

TO BE CONTINUED...

HA—!

HA—!

HA—!

Panting, a man sat up. He looked at the chandelier and lowered his eyes to the beautiful kitchen.

A foul smell caused his nose to wrinkle and he saw the bloodstain on his top. Rushing to the bathroom, he removed the top and washed off the dried blood on his face.

Wiping his face with a towel, Li Chen exited the bathroom, his eyes dilated for he felt something was missing.

The moment he arrived at the dining room and saw his meal still hot, a certain chill blew past him. His eyes flew wide open and he dashed for his workroom.

Dashing into the room, he pressed the tablet's power button. Li Chen scattered his hair in anxiety, his eyes locked on the waking tablet.

When the tablet came on, Li Chen hurriedly sat down and began scrolling down. From his appearance to when he saw the celestial lady in his comic.

And it was also published!

Quickly searching for his phone, he switched it on and scanned the reader's comments.

[Wow, the new character looks cool. I hope he's going to be an interesting side character.]

[HE CAN ALTER REALITY!! IS HE FENG LANXI'S ARCH NEMESIS?]

[How could the author introduce such a broken character?]

[OMG, is that celestial goddess, Xiu Ying?] [Please, author, let her be Feng Lanxi's companion.]

[This is an interesting chapter.]

[Thanks for the chapter!]

[Tftc!]

[I see where this is going. Xiu Ying will end up as our Feng Lanxi's woman and he'll get that overpowered slave working under him! Praise the author!]

"What the heck!" Li Chen hissed, switched off his phone and dropped it. The comments he saw were almost a hundred, giving him a fleeting taste of his peak.

Yeah, his comic had dropped from No. 1 after he fell sick, a result of his unhealthy lifestyle.

He had just resumed some weeks ago and was hovering around the top 30 but this amount of comments and likes meant the readers were coming back or that strange being had done some magical advertisement.

{You want to ask if you'll return to the comic? The answer is yes.}

"So I'll return after each chapter?"

{Yes}

Although Li Chen felt modern earth was cool, the feeling of having so much power coursing through his veins wasn't something riding a sports car could surpass.

The thrill of cultivation burned within him. He wasn't aiming to be strong; he just wanted to experience it. No matter how high, he wanted to experience what a cultivator feels and so far, it has been addictive.

If he saw a cultivator crush a mountain, he would certainly train toward such a goal to know how it felt.

"I feel so weak in this body." He sighed heavily. The feeling of sluggishness was dawning on him.

{I would advise you to stay indoors because you can return at any minute.}

Reading those floating words, Li Chen nodded and turned to his phone, this time to check something else.

"What in the next world? I spent months there and just a few minutes have passed in this world?!"

The other words formed a lump in his throat when bold, large words appeared before him.

{Li Chen, your sentence remains: DEATH}
