1 Chapter 1

I was born in the year 2020, I do not remember it but everyone talks about how weird it was to have to wear a mask everywhere they went. I am sure it was very weird; I cannot even imagine having to do all of that, I am glad that all ended before I could remember it. The big thing from 2020 was not the pandemic everyone talks about, but the one that came as a reaction to the vaccine it gave certain people "abilities". My parents got the vaccine and it gave both of them "abilities" (we call them superpowers). After getting their superpowers they ended up having five children, and we all have superpowers. My name is Alexander, I am the oldest as you may have guessed. Then there is Benjamin, then Cassandra, Daniel then finally Zachary. You may be wondering what our powers are well...I can fly and shoot lasers out of my eyes, Benjamin can fly and freeze things with his breath, Cassandra has super speed, Daniel can shapeshift, and we do not know what Zachary can do yet, however he is very good at finding new ways to get detention. Those of us are kept pretty busy with keeping the city safe, and the world on occasion.

When Zachary finally got his powers we did not know what he would be able to do, we thought he would only have one or two abilities like the rest of us but he was able to fly, shoot lasers out of his eyes, freeze things with his breath, shapeshift, he had super speed, and he even could become invisible (an ability our parents have). With Zachary having so many powers we all chipped in to help him learn to control them.

"Zachary, do you want me to drive you to school or do you want to use your super speed?" asked Cassandra. Cas was the closest to Zachary they were almost inseparable.

"Um...I think I will practice my super speed. We're you able to finish the special jeans you were going to make for me?" Zachary replied.

Not only was Cassandra super-fast, but she was also a genius. She was able to skip most of high school and graduate from college when she was 18. Even though she skipped most of high school she fit in very well at college, you would have never guessed that she was so musk younger than everyone else.

"Of course! Let me go get them for you!" It did not take two seconds for Cassandra to get back.

"NO POWERS IN THE HOUSE!!" Mom scolded from the other room.

"Sorry mom!" replied Cassandra "anyway here are the jeans...we'll go try them on!"

"Okay, okay! I will be back in just a second."

"One" Daniel said

"Not literally, Dan!" yelled Zachary

"Well why not, it's not like you are not fast enough for it to be literal." Daniel remarked

Zachary and Daniel did not get along, half the time they avoid each other but the other half, well let's just say when we found out Zachary had laser vision Daniel needed to get a haircut and would have needed to go to the hospital if dad did not have healing abilities.

"We are not supposed to use our powers in the house! Did you not just hear mom?"

"Daniel, Zachary is correct we are not permitted to use our abilities in the house." Benjamin interjected. Good thing too because Daniel and Zachary were about to go at it again. Much to Dan's despair he has only won his brawls against Zach maybe twice, and that is counting while Dan has powers and Zack did not. Zack was on the weightlifting team, the football team, and the soccer team. He was also president of a book club as well.

"Oh of course you are on his side!" Cried Dan indignantly "you act like you are so smart, but we all know that Cas is way smarter than any of us! Why would you want to side with the jerk anyway?!" Only Cas saw it but for a moment Zack was affected by what Dan said.

"I am not taking sides, I merely stated that what Zachary said was factually correct." Ben replied coolly

"Guys as much as I enjoy watching you have this argument, Zack has to get to school." I say as I join the conversation

"Zach don't forget today is weightlifting and book club! I love you!" yelled Cas as Zack was getting to the door.

"Thanks Cas! I live you too!" Zack hollered back just before he sped away.

"I am going to visit Angelica," Cas said as she turned to me "where are the car keys?"

" Why not use your super speed?" I asked

"Because she does not know about it yet" Cas informed

"Ok, they are hanging on hook by the back door." I stated

"Are you going tell her today?" Benjamin inquired

"No, I don't think so. I enjoy having a friend who does not ask me to run errands for them."

"Ok, have an enjoyable experience." Ben said as enthusiastically as he gets (which is still pretty monotone).
