9 Chapter 9: The Badge and the Burden

~ Third POV~

It was already the next morning of the day and the team members of team JNPR Jae woke up early to make some quick breakfast for them just some toast with eggs on the side and pancakes for Nora. He may be the villain of the story but at least he knows the importance of having breakfast.

When he was done making breakfast for them, he noticed that the rest of the members were starting to wake up from the food Pyrrha looks at Jae with clear surprise, "Good morning Jae… Oh! You made breakfast for everyone today?"

He nodded his head to confirm with Pyrrha as he says to them with a smirk to be friendly, "Yeah pretty much the toast and egg are for us and the pancakes are – "

*Swoosh*

*Burp*

But he could even finish speaking as far as he can say before the plates filled with pancakes are gone then looks at Nora who burps knowing she's full in disbelief thinking to himself, 'Ok I know I have seen her eat her pancakes before, and I have seen how funny she eats them but this ridiculous right now! I can say Pyrrha and I are fast but not fast enough to see Nora eats the pancakes!'

When Ren sees the food, he goes over to pick it up to eat then looks at the disbelief faces of Pyrrha and Jae towards Nora and understands why they have the expression. Ren goes to eat his toast and eggs while he looks at both of them as he spoke in a tired voice, "Thanks for the food, and don't worry about Nora… you'll get used to it."

When Ren says that the Greek warrior and Reincarnator looks at Ren with the expression saying, 'Are you serious?'

However, they did eat their food and Jae made for them to eat then he notify everyone on his team about their time for class, "Ok now that we have something to eat we better get going to class soon from what I remember it starts at 9 o'clock and we have 45 minutes left so time to get going."

The rest of team JNPR agreed and started to change into the Beacon Academy uniform while they took turns in the bathroom to change. When they left for their class team JNPR heard some commotion going on at the door across from them. Jae immediately knew what was happening in that area as team RWBY was decorating their room according to the plot of the story.

Jae decided to be nice and knock on their door only to reveal that Ruby was the one to answer and looked surprised to see Jae there in a surprised voice, "Jae! Good Morning what are you doing here?"

He just smiles at Ruby and explains to her their team is going to be late in a knowing voice to her, "Moring Ruby just wanted you to know that class starts at 9 o'clock soon so the team decided to be there early as not to be late well that's all seen ya later little red."

With that, he left leaving Ruby shocked checking the time on her clock in the dorm room then closing the door and yelling enough for the team of SPRN to hear Ruby say, "Quick guys we have to decorate quickly we have 40 minutes left before class starts!"

Jae laughs at Ruby's reaction when he and his team go ahead of time to get to Peter Port's class on time. When they arrived, they saw the professor of the class and welcomes them inside kind heartily at them, "Oh! Welcome students to my class the names Peter Port I will be your instructor for studying strategies against Grimm now go take your seat team JNPR."

Peter appears to be a man in early old age. He wears a double-breasted burgundy suit with gold piping and buttons. The pants he wears are tucked into olive boots, similar in appearance and construction to cavalry boots.

He has gray hair and a gray mustache and is a fat man. His build is similar to an apple shape, where he is chubbier on his top half, with a bit of a belly. With that Jae saw everything goes all according to the volume with the exception being his team and RWBY have come on in time for class to begin.

Port begins his lecture about his class about Grimm showing all of his bravadoes as Jae rolled his eyes but took notes regardless about the man in question teachings, "Demons… Prowlers of the night! Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names. But I merely refer to them as PREY. Ha ha! Ha ha!"

Everyone remains quiet at the scene causing Port to be awkward till he continues his speech with an educated voice returning to the subject, "Uhh… and you shall too upon graduating from this prestigious academy. Now as I was saying, Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world."

Port walks around back and forth while continuing his educational speeches about the Grimm to inspire the young huntsmen and huntresses, "Our planet is teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces! And that's where we come in Huntsmen! Huntresses… individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves. From what you ask why, the very world!"

Then everyone looks over to the one guy who agrees with Port then shuts himself up from everyone staring at him. Port continues his lesson with a tale of his childhood, "That is what you are training to become. But first a story…"

Jae zones out from Port's lesson while faking to take notes while thinking to himself in a very bored tone, 'Fucking hell this boring as fuck. Makes me miss my time playing as Happy Man. I wonder how Roman, Emerald, and Neo are doing right about now. Anything worthwhile than being in here to listen to this dribble that's for sure.'

After that everything went all according to the plot of the story with Weiss asking to fight the Grimm boar, but Jae was the first to raise his hand to fight the Grimm if out of anything just to do something instead of being bored, "Well then mister Jae, let's find out. Step forward and face your opponent!"

With that Jae goes over to the main floor level with him bringing Berserker out of his chest pocket turning big as he gets into position while Port questions him, "Aren't you getting your armor to help your young man?"

Not glancing at the professor, he responds to Port question with a serious expression on his face as he playfully answers him, "Nah, professor Port, if I'm going to become a Huntsmen then its best be prepared for a fight any time even without armor, that and if I beat the Grimm we leave early right?"

Port nods his head as he readies to release the lock from the cage admiring the young man choice of fighting at all times being ready, "Hmm… that is right young man you can never be too sure when an attack will happen its best to always be ready in case something does happen."

As Jae was going down team RWBY and the rest of team JNPR were encouraging him to win saying good luck, representing team JNPR, and other words of encouragement.

With that Port begins to ready the stage for Alex to fight the Grimm, "Alright, let the match begin!"

*Clank*

"Squee!!"

That was when the Grimm Boar came up running to Jae but just as it was coming towards him Jae began to use his <Aura Manipulation> channeling his aura to his Berserker as the Grimm Boar ever so closely comes closer to the blade. At the last moment the aura channeled to the sharp edge of the ax began to harden into a dark green color as then the Grimm that was running towards him split in half and the two parts separated in the middle then evaporated into dust.

Everyone was surprised at the sudden quick slash and Port was congratulating Jae on his quick win with excitement detected in his voice, "Bravo! Bravo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true huntress in training. It's still a little early but I guess I can let you all off early today just remember be sure to cover the assigned readings and stay vigilant."

With that everyone was going off to their next class soon after but waited a bit to talk considering they had a little free time. As Pyrrha and the rest come over as Ren was curious about Jae's semblance at the end, "I have to say friend that was very well done facing the Grimm Boar. But what was that shiny coloring of dark green at the end of the attack?"

Nora and Pyrrha getting curious Jae put back his Berserker in his chest pocket as he began to explain to his 'teammates' about what he did, "Oh that? I simply harden my aura using my semblance of <Aura Manipulation>. I explained to Pyrrha I can take it up to another step than most and be creative in how I use it for example hardening my aura for defense as well as the offense in the process. Cool right?"

Nora was getting stary eyes as she examines Jae with a happy expression on her face she looks very happy like a child, "Oh! That. Is. So. COOOL!!! WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO WITH YOUR SEMBLANCE! TELL ME!! TELL ME!!"

When the rest of team JNPR came over to Jae they all congratulated him and his quick victory while that was happening unaware Jae paid attention to team RWBY as they all heard the fight conversation with Ruby and Weiss.

Since everything in the class was done early Jae decided to let the plot device be to help Ruby since Ozpin is going to advise Ruby to help her self-confidence, 'Well at least the plot is still following according to plan. No need for me to interfere with their growth as I just need to make sure I stand on top.'

With that Team, JNPR with Pyrrha leading the team all decided to spend their day doing normal student activities for the day as well as Jae keeping a close connection between them. As well as Team RWBY when the need arises but for now kept the part playing the role of a student.

For the time being at least…
