A cold yet calm voice resounded towards Gilbert's back.

But before he can finish his words a streak of purple lightning already landed towards his spot.

Yet luckily enough he dodged the attack, his moves was nimble and fast...Too fast to belong to a normal mage.
"Just what I thought.... Your not a mage,your an assassin."

An Assassin.
A class that focuses on fast, efficient, nimble, and silent type of attacks.
A class that was blessed with mana that suffices their lack of physical strength.
But unlike a marksman that was also blessed with mana, assassins tend to battle in close range than battling in both mid and long ranges.
"And here I though I can prolong on using this weak body."
'Gilbert' said while smirking towards the figure who attacked him.
It was a young man with neck length hair that was tied in a ponytail, his once purple eyes was already replaced by both golden and lavender with a little bit of glow within it.
Streaks of lightning was visible within those lavender like eyes.
"Now that I think about it...base on the reports and your information you can make that lightning hit me, yet you didn't."

"Are you looking down on me.... Valentine?"
Gilbert said while looking at Edward with anger visible in his already crazed eyes.
"Wow, I guess I'm already famous...Should I be proud?"
Edward's ignored him and used a sarcastic tone, it resounded within the ears of Gilbert or so the Assassin.
"He-he-he your bounty was pretty high for a weakling like you. Your bounty was just high because your the son of the legendary northern duke if not I bet your just gonna be like us who live among the slums."

Gilbert tried to agitate Edward but it was all for vain as Edward was still staring at him silently.
"I guess your organization puts a lot of effort on hunting down kids....But I bet I'm not the only target."
Edward said while still maintaining his still stone faced expression.
The assassin just smirked a bit at his words.
"Your right young master Valentine but who cares about the concern of the dead."
"Your speaking as if I'm already within the underworld."
"Isn't that already certain? Now that I've noticed it, Where's my little toy Wendy~."
Edward's expression changed this time, it was replaced with annoyance and a tinge of rage.
"I've put her to sleep for now...But I bet you won't meet her forever."
"Just how cocky you are, a mere manaless [F-] rank human."
"Who said I need mana to kill you."
Edward answered with a little smile in his face and suddenly a huge amount of external force became pressed down upon Gilbert or so the assassin.

Edward's left hand suddenly became wrapped upon blue flames while his left eyes shone lights within it.
"!!?"
Both surprised and clueless was painted within the assassin's face. He didn't expect that one can conjure flames without the use of mana.
'This!? They said he was manaless and only a warrior but what was this pressure and what the fuck!!? Blue flames!?'
"It doesn't matter whatever tricks you got on your sleeves."
The assassin took out a pair of daggers while coating himself in a veil like mana.
"I'm much stronger than you are."
The assassin confidently said while exposing his [F+] strength.
'Well this body was trash, but it can suffice to kill Valentine.'
The assassin was originally a [D+] but with the use of a mysterious art he successfully taken over the body of Gilbert.
Add the fact that taking over bodies was easy once the strength of the one who is being taken over was insufficient.
"You think so?"

But suddenly to the Assassin's surprise , Edward already launched towards his position with fast speed.

Edward swung his right hand that was holding his sword that was given from the academy.
'This bastard!"
Yet luckily enough the assassin successfully parried his attack.

"Ho?"
Edward raised his eyebrows due to his surprise.
'Despite knowing his next movement 5 seconds faster, he still parried huh? Looks like The [Clairvoyance] skill of this eye varies depending on speed.'

Right eye of the sage, was one of the most powerful eyes within the world of Paradis.
An eye that was originally owned by one of the chaos god's most trusted retainers, the commandment of selflessness, Dohle.
The eye clearly gives the owner or user the ability to see the 'truth' and to foresee the future once the strength was enough, but in Edward's case he can only see the future for 5 seconds before one scenario or pattern can happen.
"Ugh!"
The assassin clenched his teeth yet before he can react faster Edward already raised his left hand that was covered with flames trying to grab the man's arm.
"Not so fast!"

But before Edward can grab it the man already moved 5 meters away from him.
And Edward immediately followed thus there clash only ignited.

2 fast and nimble figures was both throwing attacks from left and right.
Wind was even slashed because of the sheer speed of both of them.
Trees was already marked with blades and some tinge of blood.
But Edward suddenly exposed his neck too much thus...
...The assassin suddenly used his left hand that was holding a dagger to target Edward's neck.
"Got you arrogant shit!"
Seemingly elated towards that attack not minding his consequences.
"You forgot about something..."
Suddenly Edward grasped the hilt of the blades of the assassin.
"...I got 2 hands."
Woooshh-!!
While using his right arm to parry the another dagger and his left hand that was covered with flames to hold the left blade.
Edward's left hand suddenly ignited a bluish flame and it corrode the blade faster than expected that it even reach a little bit of skin of the assassin.
"Ugh-!"
"Piece of shit!"
Feeling the hot temperature rising within his hand and the pain of burn the man immediately swung his another dagger with strength to make distance.
Swish-!
Yet Edward just doged it while bending his head backwards.
clank-!
Tap tap tap
Having distanced himself the assassin immediately scanned his left hand only to see it to be burned to almost a crisp.
If not for his speed then he would've lost his arm.
"I got you."
"What?"
Suddenly screams of thunder was can be heard above the man.
Edward's left eye shone more as a fast streak of thunder came from the sky.
'Tribulation!'

A streak from the sky suddenly landed towards the assassin.

It successfully landed towards his left hand thus shattering it to the point that even ashes has faded.
"You bastard!"
The assassin clenched his teeth in pain, but he immediately wanted to collect the debts that Edward made.
"Bastard, do you think I would let you get away without paying the price?"
The assassin said with his crazed eyes.
"Cast!!!!!"
Magic circles started to form in his hand.
"<Aqua Ray>"

A streak of laser like attack came towards Edward yet he didn't dodged nor his expression faltered.
He raise his sword towards the sky.

When the streak was about to hit him he only muttered a few words.
"Sword Sovereign First Skill: [Cut]"

And before it hit him the attack strangely became halved thus it didn't even damaged him.

But before he can even finish his words Edward's left hand already grasped his neck while the flames was still engulfing his hand.
"Ughhh-!!!!"
The assassin screamed in pain and itch that he was feeling from those blue flames.
"I got you."
