49 Chapter 48 - Era of change

The giantiact sword was inching closer towards Tobirama every second, he's never seen Izuna use this before. His mind was wondering what it was and when did he obtain it.

He's heard that Madara was also capable of using something similar, but Tobirama refused to acknowledge that both of them would have the same power.

Making one hand sign, three more Tobirama's appeared from thin air.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

All four Tobirama jumped out of the way dodging the attack of Izuna's. His susanoo's katana cut through the trees cleanly that were behind Tobirama.

Seeing that Tobirama dodged, Izuna's susanoo placed a hand by its mouth as a giant fireball emerged.

"Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Izuna shouted.

Tobirama and his shadow clones made various hand signs as they each launched the same attack. His belly enlarged as he released a giant water dragon.

"Water Dragon Bullet!"

The four water dragons merged with each other, creating an even larger water dragon. The water dragon roared as it collided with the giant fireball made by the susanoo.

Ernie was amazed by both their skills. Even with susanoo, Izuna wasn't able to push Tobirama back. However, Tobirama wasn't able to push Izuna back either. Both were equal in strength, Ernie knew that the only way for one to win was if the other messed up.

For shinobi of their skill it was unlikely they would mess up on something simple.

He watched the two clash a few more times before both were both physical and mentally exhausted. Tobirama was panting heavily, while Izuna's sasunoo disappeared.

Wiping the blood from his eyes, Izuna glared at Tobirama. His eyes were full of hatred. He could sense the same sensation coming from Tobirama.

"Withdraw!"

Izuna said to his Uchiha clansmen.

The open plain they arrived at know looked like it had gone through all four seasons at once.

Seeing the Uchiha members leave, Tobirama kneeled on the ground.

"They are weak, we should chase!"

One senju clansmen stated.

"No, let them retreat. If we run into Madara then we are all dead, I do not have the stamina nor chakra to do anything against him. Once my brother returns, that will be the end of them!"

Tobirama said as he used his sword as a cane to help him get up.

Ernie was disappointed, he wanted the two of them to fight for a longer period of time so he could see what other jutsu's they were capable of.

His body flickered as he appeared in front of Tobirama and the senju clansmen.

All of them were on guard against him.

"Who are you?"

One senju asked as he stood in front of Tobirama.

Seeing Ernie's cold blue eyes, the man figured he had some sort of agenda. Even if it cost him his life, he had to protect Tobirama.

"Relax, I don't care about you. Especially considering your weakened state."

Ernie said calmly.

He wasn't afraid of these people, and considering they used a considerable amount of chakra up in their clash with the Uchiha clan, they wouldn't be able to stop him even if they wanted to.

"Then what is your goal? What do you seek?"

"Originally I was going to check out a clan not too far from here, but now. I'm more interested in Hashirama. Where is he?"

One senju clansman snorted.

"What does it matter to you? Don't tell me someone hired you to take care of him?"

Ernie laughed a little.

"I'm just curious and would like to meet the guy is all. Don't get so worked up over nothing."

"Why you!"

The man shut up when he sensed Ernie's chakra. It was too much for him, and only someone like Tobirama or Hashirama would be able to handle him. Seeing as Tobirama was exhausted, he knew that he shouldn't provoke Ernie any further.

"What do you want from my brother?"

Tobirama asked as he looked Ernie in his blue eyes.

"Talks of peace and a suitable alliance."

"Peace? Why would you talk to him about peace?"

'Because he's the one who began to unite all the clans here and created the hidden leaf village!'

"Honor and glory… such illusions perpetrated by heroes throughout history have led countless young men to their bloody deaths. Thus it is time to stop the pointless bloodshed and look forward to the future!"

Something appeared in Ernie's head, his heart felt like it was on fire.

"Love gives birth to sacrifice, which brings forth hatred and lets you know pain. Ideals, religion, freedom, truth, grudges, love or just because. Reasoning doesn't matter anything that motivates people to act which will eventually lead to war! If no one desires to stop the fighting then I shall be the one to bring forth the era of peace. In this land… in all the lands."

Tobirama's eyes watered a little, behind Ernie's figure he could see the image of his brother.

In all honesty, Ernie wasn't planning on saying that. Those words just came out of his mouth on their own.

"My brother… we don't know where he is. But, I feel he should be returning soon."

Tobirama said to Ernie.

Ernie turned around.

"To bring about change, one needs more than just power."

Tobirama said as he saw Ernie getting ready to leave.

"I have people to protect and and i'm not willing to let them die for some petty disagreement. As long as I can convince one, they will convince another and it'll spark a wave, thus beginning an era of change."

After speaking, Ernie's entire body vanished.

He felt that Tobirama would pass on his words and keep them at heart. What happened after that, he didn't know but he could feel the winds begin to change.
