40 Chapter 39 - Ice Age

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

Aito asked Ernie as he held the straps of a large backpack filled with items.

Aito was looking towards the village they had built over the course of three years. It was a marvelous sight to see, and he's never seen any other clan come close to creating what they have.

Ernie nodded.

"We can't leave it like this, someone else will just use it. What is created can also be destroyed, such is the cycle of life and death."

Ernie told him.

"You are right."

Aito said in agreement.

Ernie activated his Reitgan and jumped into the air. As he overlooked the village below, he held out both hands.

"Ice Age!"

Two beams of ice shot out from his hand and crashed against the mountain side that surrounded the village. Ice quickly spread from the mountain to the land and soon covered the entire village.

Ernie stole this move from Aokiji from One Piece, but he could only use it when he activates his Reitgan. A few techniques he made could only be used when his Reitgan was activated, but each one was powerful.

The control he had over ice surpassed what most people thought was possible.

Ernie landed on the ground and his eyes turned back to normal. The entire village was frozen solid, and no matter how much someone tried to it would never melt.

"Let's go!"

Ernie said loudly as he took the first steps towards his new home.

A black figured appeared on top of the mountain that surrounded the village Ernie just froze. It gazed curiously at Ernie while the figure titled its head.

"I sense a familiar chakra… this boy could be a problem for mother…"

As the black figure finished its sentence, it seemingly turned into a pool of black liquid.

Ernie had no idea that he was being watched from the shadows as his main focus was on arriving at the new land safely.

Together with the villagers and his family, it took time but they finally arrived at the mountains graveyard.

The forest was dense not allowing a person to see past the fifth layer of trees. For all they knew they could be surrounded by enemies.

"This is where we are going to live?"

One man asked as he was worried. A few feet away was a thick bone from some dead beast. It was thicker than his entire body and it went past the trees. He wasn't sure what type of beast was capable of being this tall.

Ernie walked up to him and shook his head.

"Not here, we are going deeper inside."

Ernie created an ice sword and started swinging as he cut down trees to create a clear path for them. As the trees started to fall, Hina waved her fan blowing the trees away.

Aito and Himari worked as they moved the earth uprooting the tree stumps that were left making a smooth path.

Other shinobi started to help as well with whatever they could.

After doing this for three hours or so, people were tired. They used a lot of chakra creating a path.

Seeing the distance they traveled, Ernie nodded his head.

"We'll clear out an area here then start building homes. Remember our main priority is giving each family a place to lay their head tonight."

Ernie said loudly.

Aito, Saito and five others approached Ernie.

There were three women and two other men. All of the people that came to Ernie were members of the village committee. Some in charge of finances, others security. Each of them had their own jobs assigned to them and people working under them.

There was, Nana a middle aged woman with short blue hair. Miyo a beautiful blonde, Mami an elderly woman full of wisdom, Kenji a strong willed man and Ryo the stealth ninja.

Each of them came from different clans, but Ernie found they all had talents that could be put to use. Together with the seven of them, the village he created had rapid progress. Everyone of them had their own ideas and together they created a layout for the village.

"Don't forget, make sure that everyone is in one of the four housing areas. It's hard to get a layout for it now, but once we finish the first section the other ones will just be made naturally."

Ernie said.

"Mhm, but we need to leave space for the village tower. Not to mention the clans that joined us would like to have their own homes."

Nana added.

"We can ignore that for now, they can work on their clan homes later on. Right now we need to survey the area."

Aito commented.

"Leave it to me, I already have ten people willing to check out the area and see if there are any creatures nearby."

Ryo stated.

"Well, get to work!"

Ernie said.

Ernie's chakra burst forth as it started to swirl around his body, with the ice sword in his hand it was coated with chakra. Ernie swung his blade in a wide arc as a crescent arc of wind cut down all the trees in the area.

Once the area was clear of all the trees and rocks, people started to get to work. With the supplies they brought with them everyone worked together to build houses.

"Hina, make sure that the children don't run off. We can't have them getting lost, as we don't know anything about the area."

Ernie said as he looked at Hina who nodded her head.

Hina was helping a family unload some of their items from a wagon, but she would keep her eye on the surroundings as well.

"Himari, let's go see if we can find anything."

"Like what?"

"Aren't you curious what sort of beast these bones came from?"

Ernie asked her.

"Well… as long as they prove to be a challenge…"

Himari thought about it and said her thoughts.

Ernie knew she would probably like to fight, and there were some creatures in the area. He could sense them, but he didn't know if they were close or not. It was because they didn't have chakra in them which is why he couldn't tell their exact location.

Besides, he was still interested in her sage mode. He might be able to get a glimpse of it.
