Chapter 85: The One to Blame

As soon as I gave the signal to my comrades, I commanded my Rainbow Dragon to make a thousand-meter dive from the skies. Combining our weight, speed, and the force of gravity, we managed to get past the speed of sound, which made a huge blast as soon as we crashed on the hotel. Jasmine has her claws covered with rainbow elements, which is why we didn't suffer any damages. The left wing of the hotel has been burst open.

There were about fifteen Arcadian soldiers who immediately acted when they saw me and my Rainbow Dragon. They aimed with their rifles but then they got their brains explode one by one, thanks to our sniper, Rudolf Azregon. I immediately rushed forward to the lower floors where the princess and that kid dragonoid are. I have to rescue both of them!

I slide on the staircase, slashing and thrusting the terrorists who blocks my way with my rainbow scimitar. When I finally reached the floor where the hostages are, I saw Nox holding his decapitated arm and watching it as it grows back again. It was so gross!

"You traitor." Nox muttered. Then he drew his buster sword from his back and prepared to chop the princess's head off!

My reflexes made my body move on adrenaline and point my hand towards the rainbow-eyed freak! "Fusion Flare!" A white fireball bursts to his right arm which made his buster sword flying out of the windows. And then I surged forward with a fast slash, tearing his right shoulder all down to his left waist! He fell lifelessly to the ground with shock on his face.

I immediately removed the explosives and threw it out of the windows. Then I removed the princess from being bound from her chair. Next is to free the now one-eyed Gaz. Poor kid. He didn't have to suffer like this in his young age.

Suddenly, there appeared three Arcadians wielding a sword that raided us! "I got this!" Princess Seris said as she took a step forward. "Princess Punch!"

Her arm was coated with golden flames. Seris made an uppercut straight to one of the terrorist which immediately broke his jaw. His body went flying that it crashed with the two other red-eyed terrorists! T-That's… That's the Princess Punch that was taught to the royal family women. It can seriously put a shield plate to zero percent in one hit! A truly devastating magical attack! But it can only be used once per day, so it's quite a luxury.

"Let's go!"

I immediately attached shield plates to Gaz and Seris. As soon as Jasmine's dragon form peeked at the windows, I carried both of the hostages to jump to my Rainbow Dragon's back. Then the Rainbow Dragon jetted forward in maximum speed.

Our main objective is to rescue the princess right now. Taking down Dragunov is not my job. I'll leave those to the Chevalier Unit. Even if I have a personal grudge on my stepfather, I still won't involve myself in this war they have created. All I care about is the princess's wellbeing.

When we were on the way out, I remembered that Rudolf Azregon must've been backing me up but he didn't follow my lead. My doubt has been extinguished as I saw thick smoke in one part of the city. I had a small detour to check on the area and then we saw him. The princess shrieked as she witnessed this horror. Gaz gritted his teeth.

Rudolf and his dragonoid are completely lifeless on the ground. And then I saw the silver-haired ice lady who's slowly walking close to Rudolf's body, while holding an icicle dagger on both hands. She had her red eyes popped with so many veins that we can mistake him for a crazy woman.

"Jasmine, go!" I commanded my Rainbow Dragon. Jasmine reduced her altitude while maintaining her speed. On the way, I heard Emy shout in front of the unconscious Rudolf.

"YOU KILLED MY ALDER TWICE!!! UNFORGIVABLE!!! THIS IS WHY I WILL KILL BOTH YOU AND YOUR DRAGON-!!!"

Jasmine didn't let Emy finish her monologue. My Rainbow Dragon immediately caught the ice lady with her jaws and crunched. And then Jasmine spitted out the corpse of the dismembered and dislocated Emy.

We didn't have time to think. We acted fast! I carried the bleeding Rudolf and had Seris and Gaz carry his unconscious wife Kyrie. And then we flew off. Rudolf had his heart punctured, and he's losing blood! They both needed medication!

My Rainbow Dragon launched upwards again, but then there was this gigantic magma ball that almost hit us. When I turned around, I saw a flying Magma Dragon, and Nox on its head!

"You think you can get away?" Nox shouted. And then he opened a huge portal which became the entrance of the zombie Estoff Wratih and the Seraphim Dragon corpse!

That Nox… How the hell is he still alive? Just do me a favor and stay dead, damn it!

Three, four, five magma balls has been launched, but my Rainbow Dragon evaded all of them. Then there is this sixth ball of fiery rock. I used my Fusion Bolt spell which electrocuted the burning rock which resulted to its explosion. It was followed by another magma boulder, and another, and another. I used all my projectile spells to intercept those attacks just not to have them scratch my comrades.

I would've used my Dracaryx, but that will leave one dragon left. We won't have a ride out of here if I activated Rainbow Road. I have no option but to endure their attacks and escape from this shitty situation!

Suddenly, Estoff Wraith's corpse started gathering light energy from his hand. The corpse then shouted "DRACARYX!!! Activate Crusader Arrow!" And then an energy bow materialized from his hand. A giant beam of light was projected and shaped itself into an arrow which was aimed towards us.

This is it! The end of the line for me! I won't have anything to counter it! If only I still have my Elform…

"DRACARYX!!! Activate Splatoon Burst!"

There were a wave of gigantic pinkish slimy things that rained towards the Magma Dragon and Seraphim Dragon and their riders. When one big chunk of bubblegum-like object splattered to the zombie Estoff Wraith, he lost his balance and had his powerful arrow attack fire upwards. The Crusader Arrow bursts on the skies like fireworks and then a cross-shaped explosion made a deafening roar.

The two dragons which was got hit and now covered by gigantic bubblegum was left out due to their inability to fly. Nox was even covered with that pink slime so he was not able to shout as they fell down on the busy streets.

In front of us, is an airship exclusive for the Task Force. It is the S.S. Liberty, which General Holster was standing stiff, holding his unconscious dragonoid wife Iris. That Dracaryx…It must be his doing!

As soon as we landed the airship, me, the princess, and the ex-dragonoid kid immediately carried Kyrie and Rudolf to the medical ward. On the way, the depressed Amphere, his dragonoid, the young duchess and Richard had their eyes widened as they saw their comrade fully bathed in blood. They followed us all the way to the operation room.

Amphere was so worried that he helped the doctors cover Rudolf's wound. He pressed so hard so that his best friend would never lose some more blood, but it is too late. Rudolf already lost too much blood. Moreover, his heart was completely holed up. There is no way to save him.

"I'm sorry. We've lost him." The doctor said. Then the medic team proceeded to check for Kyrie's vitals. Unlike her husband, Kyrie appears to have suffered no fatal wounds.

Seris and the other girls went out of the room with their tears running on their faces. The ones who stayed are me, Richard and Amphere. Amphere put his face on his dead best friend's chest, not believing that he's already dead.

Richard began mumbling like a traumatized man. "F-First is Reina. Then Rudolf. What the fuck just happened?"

Reina Fleuret!? What the heck happened to her? Is she…dead?

"FUUUUUCK!!!" Amphere slammed the wall which immediately cracked. He then uttered a loud cry.

"A-Amphere…"

It was Kyrie, who just got herself awake at this very moment. She was still being diagnosed by the doctors and nurses, but she continued to speak.

"T-There's something you h-have to know… C-Cleru…Knows…Dragunov and Necross."

Then Kyrie fainted as tears ran down from her eyes.

Suddenly, Amphere summoned a Deus Ex Machina arm and punched me straight to the stomach, which made the wall behind me crack open! And then I got pinned down by the other arms that I can no longer move! I can feel the pain of my body because of the sudden attack, but it is true. I am the one to blame in those deaths.

"You better start storytelling, motherfucker!" Amphere's bloodshot eyes glowed with intent to kill.
