Chapter 62: General Class Dragon Knight

Dragonoid Evolution. Such thing has never been discovered before. This, in my own very eyes, is the first and only proof that the said phenomenon is not impossible. Just like my Eye of Deus, this Airi's current dragon form is full of mysteries.

Her steel armor all over her body are now painted mostly of glossy crimson red, which makes her look more technological than her steampunk Futuretech Dragon form. The new eight-meter-tall cybernetic dragon has photon circuits all over her body. There is these two shield-like saucers on her back that released blue photonic energy that looked like glowing blue wings! Then at the elbow of her wing, two glasslike pincers materialized with neon light effects. I-Is this really Airi? Her Chimeratech Dragon form is freaking awesome!

"Y-You're so cool!" I shouted. This is the most intense non-sexual-orgasm in my life!

"I'm flattered, Amphy! But now is not the right time! Let's do this, totally!" She talked via telepathy. I answered with a nod, and my crimson dragon dashed with the help of the quad-boosters on her back.

The enemy dragon didn't hesitate either. Using its golden wings, it hastened forward in a phalanx-style assault; shield first, and sword ready. But we didn't come unprepared for that! Two jet-wings was deployed on Airi's arms which contains more boosters, which made our speed at fourfold! They were caught by our speedy surprise! Airi's left pincer crunched the enemy Gladiator Dragon's golden shield, and the right pincer locked down the gigantic sword!

We both know that Gladiator Dragon is unable to fire any projectile on his mouth like any other dragon can. I have studied my enemy's past fights, and I already formulated this strategy from the start. The only troublesome factor is his trump card and his mysterious Dracaryx.

Four gigantic dynamos took off somewhere from the Chimeratech Dragon's back. These dynamos are like four-times bigger than mine, and enhanced too! It fired lasers to the enemy Gladiator Dragon! Thick smoke went off. It would be troublesome if Mark attacks me by surprise, so my dragon dashed backward away from that dusty area.

All dynamos targeted Mark, by the way. Depleting that shield plate is our priority, not hurting his dragon. But when the smoke faded, we got a different result. The golden wings have been completely tattered, for the dragon defended her knight by sacrificing her wings. She can't fly anymore, but that's better than having his knight's shield plate depleted.

Because of this, Mark's green eyes made an angered look at me. "I'll use everything in my arsenal to defeat you immediately, Amphere!" He shouted as he jumped forward and made a superhero landing, smashing the ground. Then he held his halberd tight and stabbed the ground. There is a silent yet visible shockwave in the impact that pulsated throughout the arena. He whispered "Negate!"

My Chimeratech Dragon's body was covered by light! In an instant, she was reverted back to her humanoid form, which resulted in me falling to the ground! But Airi deployed her plasma wings to catch me midair, and prepared me a proper landing just to prevent any fall damage. Well, it's better than having a deduction on my shield plate.

This is the magic I'm more feared of. The Vesryn Pulse Canceler, a bloodline thaumaturgy of the Octavius family. With just a tap of his halberd on the ground, he can cancel any other Vesryn Pulse in the area. This battle is almost one sided, but who knows? Airi once took down a dragon in her human form before. With her enhanced abilities, I know she can match the gigantic gladiator lizard in front of us.

"Don't worry, I'll take the Gladiator Dragon. Totally!" She said with a smile then rocketed forward to confront the gigantic beast. With the agility of Tinkerbelle, she annoyed the dragon by a hit-and-fly tactic.

There was a warcry in front of me. It was Mark, charging again! I know I don't have any chance to fight him in sword play, so I deployed four mechanical arms once more and smashed all over the way! But because Sir Octavius is nimble, I never landed a clear hit. He swung his halberd sideways and upwards, amputating my two metallic arms. His combo didn't stop there, as he prepared for a thrust targeting my stomach!

In the nick of time, six curved plates emerged that looked like a ribcage was projected, which protected me from any harm. Mark was surprised when he witnessed his attack blocked, and he noticed my imminent counter attack! He bolted backwards just before my other gigantic arm had a chance to smash him into doomsville.

Mark was hardly catching his breath. Those graciously agile halberd spins should've exhausted him. On the other hand, I was drenched with sweat. Deus Ex Machina strains my body muscles and blurs my vision whenever activated. But I can't keep this for too long. It would mess up my sense of balance, which will render me unable to walk.

Mark's shield is at 54%, while mine is 32%. My strongest spell could leave him hopeless, so I decided to do it right here, and right now! "Let's finish this!" I shouted. Then I clasped my hands.

The head of Deus ex Machina emerged. Its two arms gripped its hands in the same manner as I do. Three meters above the skull of the giant skeleton, a gravitational force field emerged. It was so strong that scraps of metal from Deus Ex Machina was absorbed, until nothing was left. As a result, a gigantic planet-like ball was floating above me. It had a diameter of eleven meters, which makes it my trump card!

"Asgard Down!" I raised my hand and controlled the specific place where it will crash!

An echoing whirling sound was made as the gigantic ball of metallic trash fall down to the gladiator knight. But he seems rather calm, as if he's not planning to evade my attack at all. To my surprise, he has another trick in his sleeve!

"DRACARYX! Activate Spartacus Field!"

The Gladiator Dragon threw her golden shield up in the sky which released a blue sky beam. Then twelve lights fell down to the edges of the arena, as the shield vanished. The twelve lights magically became statues of Spartans that looked towards the center. Suddenly, my falling planet dissolved into thin air.

"This is the Spartacus Field." Mark said. "As long as you're in my Dracaryx's area of effect, you won't be able to use any special ability you have. Not even your dynamos or Deus Ex Machina…The only thing that would work in this field is a Dracaryx of the same caliber. But as far as I know, you still haven't unlocked your Dracaryx yet."

Abigail the Gladiator Dragon reverted back to her humanoid form. But it didn't last that long. Mark touched his chest again, and shouted. "Activating Vesryn Pulse!" And there she goes again! An eight-meter-tall warrior lizard.

This is clearly cheating. Mark Anthony Octavius is truly a General Class Dragon Knight. Maybe even more powerful than Estoff or Kyle.

As the dragon roared, a held a strong grip of my sword and faced my inevitable doom.
