5 5. Mayumi and Akeno

I gave up, because the more I oppose her wishes the more she'll bother me, so its better to concede rather than suffer. Hope her seat mate arrived soon, that could take her attention from me. And lo and behold, ask and you shall receive. Her seat mate arrived and I immediately plunged down to get some more sleep before the teacher came in.

Mayumi with her tingling senses, sensed an approaching girl with a long black hair. Seeing her, Mayumi's eyes lit up and happy that she got a female seat mate. Once she sat down beside Mayumi, she greeted Mayumi and Mayumi being Mayumi asked her a barrage of questions.

They talked for a little bit and Mayumi turned to see me sleeping again, pouting she started poking me again at a faster rate than earlier. I woke up but didn't raise my head up, seeing that I'm not waking up, she increased the speed even further.

"Nee~ Vergil wake uuuuuup" Her seat mate was about to stop her but I raised my head and glared at Mayumi, Mayumi shrugged it off and introduced her new friend to me. Me who just woke up again had blurry eyes so I can't see her clearly.

"Vergil, this girl here is Akeno, Akeno Himejima." 'Wait, what!? I might've misheard what her name is' Her following words made it clear to me

"Akeno, the one sleeping over here is Vergil, Vergil Redgrave." My eyes cleared up when I saw a girl with a long black hair tied up was looking at me with amusement in her eyes. 'So she's still not yet the gremory's queen'

This may be the worst combination ever. Two Ara-ara sisters. I can't help but curse at my luck. Its fine if its only one, but when two are combined, ugh massive headache incoming.

"Nice to meet you, now can I sleep now?"

I was about to put my head down when the teacher went in but I didn't care. They started teaching about alphabets, writing your name, and basic sentences. All others except me, Mayumi, and Akeno are having a good time. I've already known what they are teaching and I'm sleeping, while Mayumi being a heiress of a prestigious clan is being taught earlier and Akeno being taught by her mother.

I just slept throughout the lectures thanks to the abnormal height of those seating in front of me. I woke up as the class ended as if I had an alarm that class ended. I was about to head out but two girls pinned me down. 'Oh God, save me'

They dragged him to the playground where kids play and he just sat in a corner watching them. 'So Mayumi's playfulness started in her childhood huh, Akeno on the other hand is showing a subtle characteristic of bring a sadist. These two are really a handful.'. Done playing, they approached me and sat beside me.

"Ne~ Vergil why don't you play with us? It was a lot of fun right, Akeno?" Mayumi had a big smile on her face. This must be the first time she had friends that can be considered 'real' as others just want to befriend her because her family is wealthy.

"Un. Yeah Mayumi is right, why are you not playing with others? Are you shy? Want us to introduce you to them?" Being a kid sometimes sucks.

"Nah I'm good. You guys aren't going home yet?"

"Not yet, my mother is going to pick me up. Ah! There she is!" Akeno pointed to an older version of her and grabbed the two of us.

"Mom! Mom! Look, I made friends, the one on the left that looks lazy is Vergil and the other one is Mayumi." 'Oi oi, why is Mayumi's introduction simple, while mine has adjectives in it?' I thought and shrugged.

"Nice to meet you, Vergil, Mayumi. I'm Shuri Himejima. Akeno, I'm glad you've made friends. Would you like to come to our house near here? Or someone will pick you up?" Shuri suggested as she rarely saw Akeno play with her age.

"My grandpa would pick me up later so I don't mind." Mayumi said then everyone looks at me. 'Checkmate' I thought

"Sure, my uncle's house is just a 10 minute walk from here." They are curious as to where I live, even though we are going to Akeno's house.

"Its just near the pizza parlor down the road." They are still unsatisfied by my answer but I just shrugged in silence. 'I don't want people suddenly barging in my house and bother my resting time. Considering Mayumi's attitude she'll be the most likely person to do that. I don't know about Akeno, but that's if and only if Mayumi dragged her out to play and barge in our house.'

We walked up to a small hill and found a shrine built on the top of the hill. Shuri then presented their humble home.

"Welcome to Himejima household. Enjoy your stay here, now Akeno can you give them a tour inside while I make some cookies for you guys."

"Okay mom! Lets go, Vergil, Mayumi." Before being dragged by Akeno, I shouted to Shuri

"PUT MORE CHOCOLATE CHIPS IN MINE"

The girls giggled and we toured the shrine, it may be called a shrine but its a big place to be honest, We then used the purification trough and head inside the main hall, their main hall and offering hall was combined into one, thats why I said its a really big place.

After that we prayed for good fortune and they played outside while I watched them while taking out my V book and engorged myself in it, I'm not an avid literature fan but I may get hooked into it as I continued reading into it.

I was interrupted when Shuri came outside with 3 bowls of cookies. Put down 1 beside me and sat down while watching Akeno and Mayumi run around the yard.

"I don't know your circumstances but I see you being the most matured of the three. Akeno was forced to mature early because her father rarely sees and plays with her while Mayumi, maybe because all those that want to befriend her was to get close and get connected to her family, but you on the other hand, didn't see her like a gold mine. You never look at them the same way normal people do when their status were revealed, you just simply don't act like a kid at all." Shuri said to me as I gently put the book down.

"My mother left me just so she could protect me from her pursuers, because she knew they will kill me if they know I'm the spawn of a demon... and a human." Shuri was really shocked as her circumstances was the same as his mother and he seems to know of other races since he was a child. She hugged Vergil to comfort him.

"Whoever your mother may be, I'm sure. She made the hardest decision in her life. A mother being away from her child is the most depressing moment for her." I can sense her words to be heartfelt, not out of pity, but to lay down her pure heartfelt motherly feeling.

She soon broke her hug as she saw Mayumi and Akeno running closer to them.

"Mom, why are you crying? Did Vergil make you cry? I'll take his cookies if he does." Akeno said in a warning tone.

"No, Akeno. Mother just got something in her eyes, I'm not crying." Akeno continued her threat.

"You're lucky Mom did not cry or you will have no cookies." I snickered at her remarks 'Even if you want to get my cookies. You can't get it away from me.'

"Come Akeno, I made your favorite cookies. I don't know Mayumi's favorite cookie so I made a normal one for you."

"Thank you, Auntie." They grabbed their own cookies while I ate mine in a slow way while reading my book.

Time passed by and soon it was time to go home, Mayumi said her grandfather will pick her up at the base of the hill, We all escorted her as it was also in the direction of my way home.

Soon a black limousine stopped in front of us and balck suit men escorted Mayumi to the car and before leaving she waved goodbye to us.

"Bye auntie, Bye Akeno, are you sure you don't want me to give you a lift to your house?"

"No need. I'm good." 'I won't let you crash my peace at home. No way.' The car then left the vicinity and I started walking home.
