4 4. Final Phase of Training and Journey Start

I trained hard and reached Vergil's level of speed, precision, and swordsmanship. He also taught me his unique style of swordsmanship, using the sheath as a blunt weapon and juggling enemies in the air and ending it with force edge helm breaker or judgement cut. Either way my final year of training started and it was the Devil Trigger.

I once unconsciously used devil trigger in trying to be faster than Vergil and a voice in my mind whispered about giving me power and unconsciously let myself feel the power, I transformed and can keep up with Vergil but my mind is slowly being corrupted so Vergil knocked me out before my demonic side takes over me.

I was then trained by Vergil to meditate alongside Bang who guided me in meditation to keep a calm serene mind and slowly draw out the power within me, I embraced my demonic side partially transforming me into my devil trigger form before going back to my normal self and I kept on meditating to slowly accepted my demoic part and slowly let out the demonic power I've been keeping inside my body.

I achieved a safe transformation of devil trigger in 3 months leaving me 9 months more to achieve the sin devil trigger and to achieve it, Vergil needs to separate my human self and my demonic one and fight it for dominance.

I fought with Urizen every single day and after training, Vergil used Rebellion to fuse me back with Urizen and we keep doing the same thing over again. Time passed and I keep on fighting with Urizen using only Beowulf, martial arts, force edge, yamato and my swordplay as I can't use DS style as it requires demonic energy.

I finally defeated Urizen with two months left to spare before the end of the tutorial stage. I spent my time learning from Bang, King Bradley and Vergil himself about life.

"You are me now, and at some point in time we are the same kind of people just different in the path pursued, you pursued revenge, I pursued power. I exchanged everything just to obtain power, my humanity, Dante, and my son in my quest for power. I never regretted what I did but I wish that I've obtained this powers earlier to protect our mother from the demon's hands."

Vergil said and some of his words resonated within me. I exchanged my dream of creating a grand masterpiece in exchange of revenge, I exchanged my happiness just to get back at all those who wronged us, did I regret all the things I've done? Maybe, maybe not. But one thing is for sure, after I stepped out on the new world, I'll live the way I wanted to. Obtain my own happiness and enjoy life in itself.

The two months quickly passed by, in my final day before stepping out of the door to lead me out of the place I once trained. I bowed my head down to my teachers as gratitude for teaching me of all their knowledge, Bang laughed and King Bradley smiled. Vergil was frowning so I came forward and decided to speak first.

"I know I'll never bow my head down but just this once let me show them at least some gratitude for teaching me. Same goes for you" I bowed my head in gratitude and pointed my fist to him.

No words are needed as the silence brought the answer for us, he returned back my fist and we had a fist bump but decided to piss him off before leaving

"Jackpot"

I then ran to the door as quickly as possible and Bang was laughing louder while King Bradley just looked at our interaction with a smile in his face.

"Goodbye master, I thank you for teaching me and I swear to never put your teachings to shame."

I waved my hands to them and as the door closes I caught a brown, gold-embroidered book with a V insignia on it, I knew who threw this to me and smiled and I walked the hallway to 'God's Office', he greeted me with a grin.

"Are you ready boy?"

"Actually... not yet, can you change my system layout? I don't want some robotic voice sounding in my head, I want you to change it. Since you are watching me for 'entertainment', just send me a scroll, or a note, or a text message if you have a mission for me, since that world is a modern world."

"Fine, then. And here is your reward for your first quest." A scroll appeared in front of me and I opened it

"Oh, literally summoning ticket, you can get E-rank summons maybe characters from another world, familiars or pets and list goes on. You can offer me ten of the same kind of ticket and I'll upgrade it to a higher class ticket for example You offered 10 E-rank tickets to me, I'll upgrade it to D-rank summon, the maximum rank of summon you can get can reach up to EX just above SSS+. Get it?" I nodded as I hope this will somehow give me an edge by summoning trusted allies to help me survive that chaotic world.

"Now that that's done are you ready now boy?" I nodded and decided to ask one last question.

"Can I see your face before I go?" He seems to nod and a portal opened behind me, as the gravity of the portal sucks me in I saw his face. Morgan fcking Freeman. I was shook at the revelation and shouted at the top of my lungs.

"YOU'RE TROLLING OLD MAN, YOU'RE TROLLING ME RIGHT NOW AREN'T YOU? DAMN AT LEAST GIVE ME AN AUTOGRA-" My voice was cut off as the portal shuts down

"Hahahahahaha it never really gets old, showing them my face before leaving hahahahahaha!"

"That damnable God, he just outright trolled me before sending me here." I opened my eyes and saw a ceiling, I then looked at my hands, I turned back to a 4 year old? Well it was much better than being a 1 year old child, you can't sh*t without giving your mother a cry to get her attention.

My thought acceleration was working in full progress, digesting everything. So my mother Eva left me in the hands of her friend, a fallen angel. Mother, wants me to ensure my safety from those who want to harm me. If my guess was correct, she was protecting me from the devils who wants to cause chaos, to be specific... Rizevim Lucifer.

That madman wants to find a way to open a portal to new world and rule it. So to protect me and to prevent them from getting the key to open the sealed demon world, he gave me the perfect amulet, and 3 swords, the Yamato, Rebellion, and Force Edge. And the fallen that took me in was none other than Azazel. I don't know why he took me in but he seems to be interested in Yamato thinking it is a sacred gear.

"Vergil, you awake? Breakfast's here. Its also your first day at prep school." Its been a year since my mother gave me to Azazel, and he is glad and sad at the same time that a child like me was forced to mature because of my mother.

He didn't know who my father was as mother never told Azazel. In a year of being together with Azazel, I was mostly distancing myself, just keep reading and reading books and Azazel never bothered me, just gave me the financial support as he doesn't know how to raise a child.

"Coming." was all I blurted out. I can wear anything in the prep school and it was a prestigious one at that. It is completed starting from prep school, elementary,middle school and high school.

I don't know where he gets the money to enroll me to a prestigious school nearby or maybe he's just lazy to take me to a public school as the place was far away. We are in a backwater port town named Shizaki, I guess even Azazel wants to live a carefree life.

I ate my breakfast with Azazel and decided to gather more info.

"Hey, uncle, how long have you known mother? What was she doing before leaving me?"

"She was of the same generation of an old friend of mine, Grizelda Quarta, the strongest sword user in the church faction right now. In fact if your mother has escaped from her pursuers, you can say that she's an equal or has more potential to Grizelda herself. A pity, it looks like someone spread a word of her lover being an heretic being."

So they considered Sparda, my father, a demon, a heretic being? The church are kind of incompetent in gathering info due to the superiors not working properly. The only thing left was either the fallen or the devils. And someone from the oldest generations of their faction must've known Sparda. Maybe Zekram and Rizevim knows who Sparda is, maybe Azazel and Michael from heaven faction knows.

"I see. Thanks for the food, are you gonna give me a lift or should I walk? Its pretty nearby tho."

"I'll give you a lift, its your first day after all." I nodded and didn't speak anymore.

Azazel took the car and drove to the nearest school to our house. He dropped me off and I waved him off but he just kept looking at me making sure I got inside and made a move at the single moms around the area.

I scanned my senses and I felt something, I'll check it later and yep I see Azazel making moves on the single moms around the school, looks like the man has a detector or his sense of smell was really strong.

I sat down in the middle row and corner seat near the beside the windows hoping to get some sleep. As I was sleeping another girl sits down besides me and seeing I'm the only one beside her, she saw me sleeping and my hair color being on the rare side, her playful mind started cranking up.

She poked my cheeks while I'm sleeping, seeing that I'm not waking up, she used two of her index finger and starts poking me all over my face. Her poking woke me up from my slumber, I felt someone poking my neck and my cheeks. And the girl seeing me waking up was happy that her plan worked.

I looked up and stretched my arms, and see who the hell woke me up and poking me all over my face. As soon as I looked over, I froze.

"Hello, what's your name? My other seatmate is not yet here. Let's be friends, okay?"

Still staring at her not because of her beauty, it was because I can't believe it. She was one of my anime crush back in High School in my old world. This damnable God really wants to troll me for entertainment.

"Hey, What's your name?" She asked again seeing me just staring at her.

"Vergil, Vergil Redgrave. You?" Even though I know her

"Nice to meet you, Vergil. I'm Mayumi, Mayumi Saegusa, but you can just call me by my first name. Its comfortable that way right, Vergil?" Mayumi said

"Yeah, sure. Now can I go back to sleep?"

"Noooooope~. Let's get to know each other first."

Even though she's one of my anime crush back in high-school, that was a long time ago. And she may look adorable but her playfulness and seeing you being bothered makes her happy. Ugh. 'I'm not getting out of this situation right? *sigh*'
