2 Leave non un-dead!

Her grip tightened on the machete in her hand as she stepped back as the body twitched before dragging its body forward, it looked exactly like a human being, she wouldn't have associated it with a zombie if it didn't walk so slowly... what?

It was rather shocking when suddenly the zombie's speed increased, and it ran at her with its hands hoping to reach her. The other bodies on the floor also began to stir, Amara couldn't do anything but impulsively run into the nearest building with a door that could be locked. She slammed the door locking it quickly trying to calm her beating heart as she heard loud banging and slurred groans. She swiftly ran to the living room looking around before dragging the sofa through the dull curtains that separated the living room and the corridor leading to the front door, then she panted as she pushed it against the door.

[This, this isn't a dream]

She couldn't believe it, right now she was living in a zombie apocalypse with zombies that could run! Without even thinking twice she ran to the nearest room to change her closes into a simple singlet and shorts, Africa was a hot continent and wearing anything more in a situation where she would need to run to escape wasn't the best idea. She grabbed a simple rucksack emptying it completely and grabbing anything she could grab. There was no electricity in the village so it wasn't surprising to see so many torches and batteries, then she threw in a leather jack and a pair of leggings with two more singlets and underwear, she didn't know where she was going or how far long it would before she could find help so she needed to be prepared. She ran downstairs swiftly packing as much bottled water as she could from the fridge and any portable food with long shelf life.

Once her bag started to become too heavy she refrained from getting anything else before grabbing her machete again, then she drew out her card, then she calmed down and closed her eyes hoping for the black sphere, it appeared in front of her and then she touched it imagining the sharp machete in her hand and before she knew it a smooth sharp knife, how sharp it was hadn't crossed her mind, instead she had transferred the machete back to the ball which once again vanished with the card. She placed her hand on her heart, she had a backup weapon, she had water, she had food, what was missing was first aid. She swiftly walked into the storage room rummaging through the bags and bags of medicine that was brought for the missionary work. Taking out antibiotics and pain killers and multivitamins she was ready to leave, this place couldn't accommodate her anymore.

But she really couldn't leave these people like this, in this state at least...

Climbing out of the window she began to sneak around as quietly as she could with the pair of boots she wore, the dust rose and settled quickly as she peaked at the hoard of zombies waiting at the front door, some banging at it and others looking confused and wondering the small village. She gulped, how would she be able to kill all of them? It was completely impossible. She couldn't help but shake in fear, she wanted to avenge her parents, but in the end, her fear was stopping her.

She heard a sharp growl and instinctively dodged a hand that had attempted to scratch her head, gulping she jumped away alerting a few zombies who looked at her, she swore under her breath and began sprinting as they followed suit.

Her cursing continued as she began to run towards the huge woodland surrounding the village, she couldn't believe this, out of all the Armageddon it had to be a zombie apocalypse! However, she had no idea how she would survive a nuclear war either.

Her breathing became harsh and painful as she unknowingly started to slow down due to her aching chest when last had she had to exercise this much? She had no way of escaping the zombies, that was until a large truck came into view, it was the truck they had used to deliver agricultural goods to the nearest towns for trade. In the truck was a dead body that had noticed the chase and had jumped out of the truck chasing after her.

She had no choice but to fight at this point so all she could do was draw out the black knife and charge at the zombie.

Despite their running speed, their skills remained the same as when they were alive, the man driving the farm truck was rather lean and elderly so it was easy enough to push him away stabbing his neck, the knife pierced through the spine into the cervical vertebrae severing the nerves in there paralysing the zombie. She sighed before turning back to face the herd running at her, swearing under her breath she jumped in the car locking the doors. She jolted as she felt a loud bang against her window and the glass cracked sharply, she swiftly turned the keys and pressed her foot on the acceleration pedal, she needed to drive away to a place with no zombies, then she'd have to get off and find her way back to the city in silence, they responded to sound so it didn't make sense to have this loud vehicle has a mode of transportation, but it was undoubtedly safer.

She swore once more and drove off into the forest surrounding them.
