I know what he's thinking

It's 6pm already and Ronnie isn't back yet,it was obvious he was  actually avoiding the jessi.knowing this irritated her so much,well unlike the previous day,she was willing to wait the whole night tirelessly for his return.

Jessica was sitting on the cushion that was in the sitting room,with her eyes fixed endlessly on the clock one could sense trouble from her expression, she folded her two arms and her legs crossed between each other.

She said nothing but just sat and stared at the clock placed on the wall,and this time it's already 9pm. She was really furious and didn't even notice when Maureen walked in.

"Jessica!!-Jessica!!

Your meal is getting cold-you should come eat while you wait for his return Jessi looked at her with a sad expression on her beautiful face," am sorry but I don't feel like eating yet.

Maureen knew that she said that because she wasn't in her best mood though she also knew Jessica is a little bit stubborn she got that from her fathers but she's gotta make her eat so she could take her drugs.

"Am sorry Jessica you gotta eat, I can't afford letting you skip your drugs this evening and I don't want to get on your daddy's bad side.

Jessica acted negatively to what her nanny said, she got really mad, it wasn't actually the Nanny that got her mad,but she transferred the aggression towards Maureen.

'How dare you!!

"How dare you tell me what to do in my own house....

"You don't get to tell me what to do in my house,you are my nanny not my mom,so stop acting like a mom.

Maureen just stood speechless,and amazed at how Jessica threw a tantrum.She had never for once talked to her in that manner and has never been that mad at anyone before though she was hurt by those words but she didn't take it to heart.

'Am sorry jess...….

" didn't mean to get you mad,just needed you to take your medications cause it was your dad and the doctor's prescription.

She explained in a soft and meek tone,she sounded as if she was about to break down in tears. But that didn't move Jessica, she wasn't even remorseful towards her statement.

She had so much anger in her mouth,she didn't even make any statement after Maureen explained.

Seeing that Jessica wasn't gonna oblige,Maureen left the sitting room back to the kitchen to finish up.

Jessie's eyes were fixed back to the clock.

'10 pm and Dad isn't back...…

What could be keeping him this late, she picked up her cell phone that was on the table and dialed his number.

Trin…trin….trin…..trin

It rang but  he didn't take his calls,she kept on calling several times but  still no response."well;I known dad is deliberately snubbing my calls-no issue

Am just gonna sit right here and wait for his return.....

Some minutes later ,she heard a car drive in,this must be dad's car.

He must have thought I might have gone to bed. She went to peep at the window to confirm if her instinct was right, and it turned out to be right.

She went and sat back…..

Ronnie opened the door without knocking, he was being careful so as not to wake Jessi up.

"Welcome Dad'

He was shocked hearing that voice as if he had just seen a ghost he wasn't expecting to see Jess up at that time.

" surprised?

I know you weren't expecting to still be up,I noticed you were trying to avoid me,so I decided to stay up and wait for you to come back.

"Not at all my Darling...…

Why would I try to avoid my own daughter,i has just been really busy at the office." You shouldn't be up dear,where is Maureen?

Jessica noticed Ronnie was actually gonna blame Maureen for her staying up late,she didn't want to involve her.

"Honestly dad,Nanny got nothing to do with it,I insisted on waiting up for you ,she was even defiant about it moreover can we just stop talking about nanny." I just got back and I need to rest dear.

Jessi gazed directly into his eyes furiously,she didn't accept the idea "am sorry dad;but I won't be decile this time.

At this point Ronnie knew there was nothing he would do or say to change her mind he has no choice but to listen.

" Fine, you have my undisputed attention dear...…

Both sat down on the cushion,Ronnie was ready to listen,then she started conversing with the most tender voice….

"You kept forgetting I am an adult and am entitled to my decision;I'm not trying to be defiant.Thjis is me taking a bold step to life,and I wish you would decile with this.

Ronnie sat speechless for some while, he didn't even know the right word to use at this point,he just stared deeply into Jessica's eyes,there was so much pain he could feel the pain her daughter had to go through.

He wished to relieve him of the pain,no parents would want to see their child go through such pain,there was total silence before  finally deciding to break the silence.

" If that's what you'd want,though it's hard, I won't contradict your happiness,I am just gonna let you have your way this time.

Yes!!

Jessica felt happy hearing Ronnie's statements, it is the most interesting  thing she had heard so  far,it means she is now allowed to associate and now study with other kids and not just stay at home all day.

"Thanks dad;you remain the best dad in the world." Anything to make you happy my dear,can I go upstairs now to freshen

 up but before that I noticed you haven't had dinner right?

No!

I was waiting so we could eat together.

"Well, I am here now. I think you should go ahead and eat while I join you later dear,I still have to freshen up.

" OK'

Ronnie went upstairs,while Jessica moved to the dining she was really famished.
