CHAPTER 288: If I Say Yes?

After Saphira woke up, they didn't stay too long and moved forward again.

Their next destination was Alcyone Empire.

There is no particular reason for going there, simply because it is currently the closest to where they are as of this moment.

"You really didn't wake up at all," Stormie said to Saphira.

"It is fine, all of us are busy with our own works and right now, there are things we need to focus on. I need to keep my energy and be stronger so that no matter what I can keep going. My grandfather understood that already."

With her reply, Stormie has no other words.

'More like, you are showing them your decision and not saying anything,' Lily still rebuked.

'Lily that's enough. I have already made my decision. There is no point trying to persuade me,' she replied and if not for her being with the others she would have rolled her eyes as well.

She didn't do it but Lily did.

'That's enough. Look at your light,' Vermilion spoke to Lily.

And this conversation couldn't be heard by Saphira.

Lily looked at her body before looking back at Vermilion Bird.

'As compared to the beginning, don't you think that the brightness stopped diminishing?' he asked.

Lily furrowed her brows before once again looking at her body and that is when she realized that he was right.

As compared when Saphira's emotion fluctuated so much, this time she seemed to have become stable.

Lily looked back at Vermilion Bird with her eyes questioning him how things became like this.

'Isn't it obvious, she was now stable. She had accepted everything that she can also honestly accept the fact that she will surely hurt her friends. She had accepted all of this and was instead looking towards the outcome of her decision. The guilt is no longer eating her up but it is still there, the reason why your brightness was lesser as compared to before.'

Vermilion Bird sighed heavily after explaining it.

Then he closed his eyes.

He talked too much and he was already too tired, he was also too lazy to actually say more.

Lily didn't need more explanation and so she left him alone.

She looked at her body intently with so many things running on her mind.

She knew Saphira's predecessor wasn't like this.

The last vision they all saw showed that she wasn't as strong both in heart and determination.

Saphira chose to break her limit while her predecessor was imprisoned by her limit.

Lily felt that she has very strong connection with the predecessor but she felt sad that she couldn't remember anything.

With a sigh, she made a decision.

Since it doesn't seem like Saphira will get lost over her own emotions, Lily will simply watch from now on.

She would stop trying to make Saphira focus more on the light ability.

Because if Saphira did focus on the light ability, she wouldn't have broken her limit.

If she focused then she will simply nurture it without looking at it from different point of view.

With renewed determination, she chose to stop interfering and simply supporting Saphira in everything. As long as she can continue and not get lost then Lily will have nothing else to say.

Vermilion Bird opened one of his eyes and seeing the changes in Lily, he closed it again.

He can tell that what he wanted her to see, was already seen by her.

On the other hand, when Saphira no longer heard anything from Lily, she focused everything on the outside.

If in the past, while they fly above, they chose not to engage in any battle so as not to get the Dark Lord's attention, now they stopped doing that.

Since the Dark Lord started moving already as well, then they will do things their own way now.

No more evading, it is time to have a frontal attack. This way, no matter what they can lessen the number of the demonic beasts surrounding them.

If they chanced upon dark forces then that would be even better.

"Saphira."

While they fly around, with the help of Stormie who can support the rest of them and not just two people, Hunter approached Saphira.

"Hmmm?"

Saphira looked at him, "And if I say yes?"

"When will you tell us then? Why you think you will lose our trust?" he asked in a hushed tone.

"I wonder if you could understand what is going on between them?" Stormie asked with a teasing tone when she noticed that he was watching Saphira and Hunter.

At the same time, she wanted to start a normal conversation between the two of them.

Normal in a way that they are teasing or arguing one another.

Nixon looked at her seriously, he can tell what she was trying to do but every single time, when he thinks that she was closer to Felix, his irritation just kept on increasing.

"I do," still he replied properly this time without brushing her off.

Though he didn't give her the response she was hoping for.

Nixon was serious in his reply.
