Chapter 18

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the Hero's Association, Albedo and Scathach found themselves navigating through various tasks and challenges.

The association recognized their connection to an S-Class Hero and extended them the courtesy of a room within the Exam Center itself.

This gesture not only reduced their burden but also demonstrated the Hero Association's utmost respect for their status. Albedo and Scathach accepted the accommodation without so much as a second thought.

"Scathach, why did you hold back during the examination?" Albedo inquired, her tone curious, as she playfully . "You could have performed even better."

Both of them possessed power beyond measure, capable of easily demolishing the entire facility if they wished. However, Scathach had deliberately restrained herself, resulting in her placement at the bottom of B-Class, specifically Rank 98.

The onlookers had been thoroughly impressed by her extraordinary strength, showering her with applause and nicknames like "Super Maid." Despite numerous attempts to recruit them into various factions, Albedo and Scathach had remained resolute in their loyalty to Kai.

Following Albedo's example, Scathach had opted to showcase only a portion of her capabilities. Even her abilities, which were considered magical in this world devoid of such phenomena, had garnered astonished glances from nearly everyone.

Her performance aimed to secure a rank close to Albedo's, as they knew they would need to work together in various situations. Scathach had managed to secure B-Class, Rank 104, not too far behind Albedo.

"I just thought it would be more enjoyable this way," Albedo replied with a lighthearted grin. "Besides, we shouldn't hog all of Master's spotlight for ourselves."

Sekingar stood by the door, inadvertently overhearing Albedo and Scathach's conversation. His initial reaction was a flinch of surprise.

'They were holding back...'

The duo had managed to achieve the highest scores across both the physical and written examinations among all the aspiring heroes.

While they were nowhere near kai's level of power, their potential as rookie heroes was evident.

'A transition to A-Rank seems quite feasible for them.'

However, Sekingar knew that the true distinction lay in the S-Class. Reserved for those who transcended mere human strength and bordered on the domain of monsters, the S-Class represented a league of individuals who could rival or even surpass the might of an entire emergency army division.

His earpiece buzzed, breaking his thoughts, and he swiftly responded to the call.

"Hello."

The voice on the other end was devoid of emotion, sending a shiver down his spine.

"Is everything in order with the new monster?" Tatsumaki's voice demanded. "Give me its location."

Sekingar's mind raced to find a diplomatic answer that wouldn't offend her.

"I have a commitment to go shopping with Fubuki," Tatsumaki pressed impatiently. "Hurry up. I won't hold back if you don't tell me within the next ten seconds."

Tatsumaki's reputation for her volatile temperament wasn't just a rumor, as Sekingar discovered firsthand. Prioritizing shopping over the potential safety of millions seemed almost irrational.

'Blizzard of Hell.'

The news about the incident with Tatsumaki's sister had circulated on television recently. It appeared that their newest S-Class recruit had been involved in a confrontation with her. If Tatsumaki were to find out about Asahi's actions, a major conflict could ensue.

Sekingar cleared his throat, choosing his words carefully. "The situation with the disaster was resolved before it could escalate further. You should have an enjoyable time shopping with your sister."

"Fine," Tatsumaki curtly replied before ending the call.

Sekingar let out a sigh, his gaze shifting back to the room. He felt a temptation to inquire about Asahi's current whereabouts and possibly learn the reason behind his altercation with Tatsumaki.

'Could it be in response to her treatment of others?'

Albedo and Scathach stepped out of the room, interrupting Sekingar's thoughts.

"We're leaving," Albedo declared, preemptively stopping any inquiries Sekingar might have had. "Is there any specific protocol for new heroes that we need to be aware of?"

Sekingar responded promptly, providing them with the necessary information. "C-Class heroes have a weekly task quota to fulfill. However, as B-Class heroes, you are exempted from such obligations. Your initial focus should be on assisting in neutralizing any Mysterious Beings that appear."

As they left, Sekingar contemplated the peculiar circumstances. These newcomers were no ordinary heroes. He knew that their power exceeded the expectations of their rank. What could have brought them into this world? He pondered the mysteries they brought along.

Meanwhile, in the approaching night, a familiar figure leaned against a luxurious sports car. The man removed his glasses and regarded the scene with a distinct air of provocation. His stance and expression were easy to interpret, leaving no room for misinterpretation.

"You're that guy from the room with master" albedo remarked, tapping her forehead. "Though, I can't recall your name right now. Are you here to start a fight?"

Amai Mask let out a dismissive snort. "Give your man a message. Amai Mask will be keeping a close watch on him."

Intent on leaving his message, Amai Mask tried to get into his car. However, an unseen force suddenly grasped him, immobilizing his movements.

"Psychokinesis?" he murmured in surprise.

This was the first time he had witnessed such an ability in action. His life had mainly involved battling monstrous entities, leaving little room for encounters with humans who possessed psychokinetic powers.

Albedo subtly motioned for Scathach intervention. "Your turn."

With a smile in response to Albedo's cue, Scathach turned her attention to Amai Mask, her expression taking on a more serious tone. "Cease your harassment of Master. He doesn't have the time nor patience for your provocations."

Amai Mask's demeanor reflected the animosity he held toward Kai. However, it was an enmity that was clearly not beyond resolution;

otherwise, Kai would have taken more drastic action. Taking Scathach warning into account, he decided against escalating the situation further.

"Annoying," he grumbled, before channeling his strength to break free from Scathach telekinetic hold. Determined not to harm Albedo and Scathach, he chose to retreat, slipping back into his car and driving away.

Observing his departure, Albedo voiced her opinion. "His mind is not in the right place. Forget about him. Let's go on an adventure, my lucky star. There may be damsels in distress we can save tonight."
