Nightmare

Blood!

He saw blood all around. He saw blood on the walls, on the floor and on the ceiling.

He looked around and saw there was a corpse. He couldn't see its face as there was blood on the corpse while the face was turned towards the other side. The corpse's lower half was nowhere to be seen.

It was weird for him who didn't like seeing blood to not vomit at the sight of such blood but he shook his head to get rid of these thoughts. There were more important matters right now!

"What is this?" He walked with slow steps towards the corpse. His heart was racing in his chest.

He didn't know why but he was shivering. His eyes turned moist. He was almost near the corpse but before he could get near the corpse, his sight went dark.

...

Lars' eyes snapped open. His breathing was heavy. He looked around and saw that he was in his room of his house.

The same wooden ceiling, wooden walls and the person he loves the most in his life, his beautiful wife, Ingrid. He was currently laying with his wife on the bed under the warm blanket to be safe from cold.

He looked at the beautiful sleeping face of his wife and a smiled adorned his face.

He then, moved his gazed downwards and saw her big belly that held his child.

He caressed her belly with a smile. He was waiting for this child to step into this world. He/she will make his life more beautiful.

"Hmm...Are you awake, dear?" Ingrid opened her eyes slowly before asking Lars.

Lars looked at her and smiled apologetically, "Sorry for waking you up!"

"No, its fine! What happened?" Ingrid moved her hand to his face and caressed his face.

"Hmm. What do you mean by that?" Lars spoke and put the hand, that was on Ingrid's belly, over her hand and caressed it with his thumb and asked.

"You look...sad and nervous." Ingrid spoke with a frown.

"I am fine! What will happen to me? You should take care of yourself!" Lars said as he forced a smile on his face.

"Dear, I have known you for years even before we got married. I can tell at one glance that something is wrong. Tell me, please!" Ingrid spoke with a reassuring smile.

Lars closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath before opening them again. He told her about the same nightmare he has been seeing for many days now. He was worried that it might be a sign to something bad...very bad.

Ingrid, after listening to his husband, flashed a beautiful smile and spoke, "Look, dear. There are somethings that will happen naturally and we cannot do anything to stop them from happening. So, stop worrying about something you don't know or you have no authority over."

Lars nodded with a deep breath. His wife is right. He shouldn't worry about this.

After that, Lars got off the bed and walked towards the door of the room.

"Why don't I cook today?" Ingrid asked Lars, which made him stop and look at her.

Lars turned around and looked at her.

"You know, you will not do any work until our child comes into this world!" Lars spoke with a serious face.

"But—"

"No buts."

"Dear, many people laugh behind your back because you do work, that a woman should do and you also don't like blood and fights." Ingrid spoke with concern on her face.

Lars sighed and walked towards Ingrid. He sat in front of Ingrid.

"What do you think of me?" Lars asked as his blue eye started into green eyes of Ingrid.

"I think that you are the most gentle person in the world who would not hurt even a mosquito unnecessarily." Ingrid spoke with a smile.

"Then, it is enough for me. I don't care about what people think of me. I mostly care about what you think of me." Lars spoke as he looked at Ingrid with a smile and held her hands.

Ingrid nodded with a smile and spoke, "I love you!"

"I know! I love you too!" Lars spoke and moved his head towards Ingrid before kissing her lips.
