Julia Ritter is a government employee working in foreign affairs for almost a decade now. She works efficiently and does everything by the rules, but nothing outside of that. Her only joy in life is playing Pinnacle: Online a VR-MMO-RPG. The game is celebrating its 15th anniversary, with events, prizes, and festivities across the in-game world. Julia’s avatar, Ophelia Von Luna, is a high elf vampire and the empress of the Northern States Alliance. Using the celebrations across the alliance as a distraction, she has smuggled an enormous amount of wealth, assets, and materials out of the alliance and into her personal vaults. As Ophelia and her closest companions are discussing plans, she receives a strange in-game notification. When she opens the notification, she experiences a severe headache as those around her fall unconscious. Until finally, she is the last one still awake, when the pain becomes too much, she loses consciousness. When she wakes, Julia finds herself in her avatar’s body and she is no longer in a game. Some unknown force has pulled her and the entire ichor sanctuary into another world. The game Julia played might no longer exist, but empress Ophelia’s tale has only begun.
