5 Rage & Encounter

Aka was stunned by that answer. She drank blood for God's sake, and now she can't get what Red Lotus promised earlier!

Her blood boiled from the hatred swelling up from her, not directed at Ao this time, but Red Lotus, "Damn it, I should've never trusted this parasite. All it wants is blood and making me do its dirty work. It's not even bothered enough to take over my body! Damn it, damn it, damn it, this damn scamming parasite! I am going to tear it out right now!", her hands moved with anger as it tried to fully rip off the lotus.

Even so, her anger was not enough to make the lotus budge.

"I wouldn't advise doing such a thing. Pulling me out will involve taking your whole brain and spinal cord out with me. That's of course excluding the obstructions like the skull.", Red Lotus did not feel a sense of urgency to Aka's anger.

Red Lotus had plenty of time to strengthen his 'grip' onto Aka's body. If Aka wanted him out, she had to say goodbye to her whole central nervous system too.

But he could still feel the tugging from Aka's hands, "Now, stop trying to pull me out and leave this place. We should converse properly when we are at a safer place."

Seeing as her efforts were futile, Aka stopped and soon demanded, "No, tell me now, you parasite. You said tha-"

Red Lotus interrupted her, "I can answer all your questions once we leave the slums. We have accomplished our task here."

Now that Aka had drunk the blood and disposed of the evidence, she didn't need to stay in the dimly lit latrine. Even so, she was unresigned.

"I will not leave this place until you answer me!", Aka shouted in her head indignantly.

Red Lotus sighed internally as he took a stern, radical but rather simple approach, "Leave the slums or I will fry your brain. Your move."

Upon hearing Red Lotus' words, Aka shook as if cold water had been poured onto her head.

That's right. She didn't have the ability to threaten or even make demands to the parasite. All she could do was comply, or she'd lose her life.

Aka clenched her fists and gritted her teeth as it dawned on her how idiotic she was for thinking that this parasite would help her. Nothing had changed, she wasn't in control at all.

She unlocked and bursted out of the wooden latrine with full force, damaging the hinges of the door, before sprinting towards the exit of the slums with a malevolent expression.

Red Lotus didn't say a word as he heard the number of profanities and insults hurled at him inside Aka's head. Obviously, he wasn't offended and was absolutely not going to kill Aka because of it.

Would he kill his own dog because it barked at him? Red Lotus understood that her angry profanities merely stemmed from a self-mechanism for relief.

Dashing through the streets, Aka saw a man up ahead with the intention of blocking her path.

The man had scruffy black hair and blue eyes. He wore cheap clothes with obvious holes in them. The shirt's colours were so washed out that they were white, only leaving scruffs of dirt to colour it.

His face contained thin, slender eyebrows and a strong jawline, making him look handsome and masculine, despite his clothing.

The orange light from the setting sun illuminated the man's face, which revealed a face of suspicion.

Red Lotus cut into Aka's swear-fest and warned, "The human in front of us is most likely an enemy, we should divert paths and avoid-"

"SHUT UP!", Aka screamed in her head. She did not want to hear from Red Lotus anymore, and certainly couldn't care less about the man in front of her.

As Aka intended to run past the man with full speed, the black haired man shouted, "Who are you and why have you come here? If you do not answer, I will be forced to stop you."

"Stop me? I fucking dare you.", Aka did not want to put up with this.

The man's expression turned from suspicious to sour as she heard the profanities of this woman. How inelegant for a face like her's.

When Aka was near the man, she attempted to dodge to the right, only to fail and be caught by the arm.

Aka immediately reacted and stared at the man's eyes with an annoyed gaze, "Get off of me, asshole, or you'll regret being born."

The man smirked as he found her threats to be humorous, "No, I won't. Answer m- AHH!", he was about to interrogate the suspicious woman when he screamed from a sharp pain that pierced his arm.

Aka was biting down on his arm with a jaw strength sent by the gods! He could feel blood flowing out as her what-felt-like canine teeth punctured his skin.

In a reflex, the man let go of Aka and smacked her away, no longer caring about interrogating this animalistic creature!

He inspected his arm wound and was horrifically impressed at how much damage her bite did.

"Holy fuck.", was his verbal response to the matter. If anyone saw this bite wound, they would never guess a human made it, let alone a woman!

When the man saw the woman getting away with a slightly bloody mouth, he did not bother to chase her. It would probably bring more trouble than it was worth.

He wondered, "Just who was that? A pissed off woman clearly not from the slums, and has an unholy talent in biting. I need to investigate this."

It did not take long from asking those around the slums to find out that the same red-eyed woman went to the public latrines.

Finding the latrine area and finding the wide open door with a broken hinge on the bottom of the door, he peaked in.

To his surprise, there were droplets of blood on the floor!

When Aka was pouring blood into the tankard, she accidentally slipped a bit and some blood drops landed on the floor. Not even Red Lotus could warn her about it because it was too dark to see the blood drops.

The man raised his eyebrows and contemplated.

"A pissed off woman, blood drops in the toilet area, didn't choose to do it in her own home… Wait a minute.", the man connected the dots in his mind.

And at that moment, he burst out laughing.

"It was her time of the month! Perhaps she was embarrassed doing it in her own home, and chose here to resolve it! God, and here I thought we had trouble on our hands with the main part of the village.", he shook his head with relief and concluded the matter of the suspicious woman.

Red Lotus making Aka seethe with rage, the accidental drops of blood unbeknownst to the both of them, and the specific location of a public toilet completely mislead the man to making a conclusion that was far from the truth!

Meanwhile, the perpetrator in question had no idea about the black haired man's conclusion.
