20 Fort Karzog

The next day Ash and the rest  of the group got up early and left the inn.

After leaving the inn the group continued down the road and after a few hours reached a fork in the road.

"We will go right"

"Creator, this is where i will leave and find my own answers"

"OK, i guess this is bye"

"Goodbye creator"

With this the robot left...

After about 20 feet the robot crashed to the ground.

[Creation ran out of energy]

"What"

"It fell"

"..."

"Lily why did the robot run out of energy and fall"

"It didn't have anything to produce energy so it was a matter of time before it ran out of energy and died"

"But even if it did have the energy it would have failed energy"

"Why"

"It didn't have the knowledge of language to communicate, it didn't have the means to protect itself, and the quality of its parts were not very good so they would have wore out anyway"

"But didn't it speak to me"

"You are its creator so you can hear its speech through thought but to others it would have been some clicks or some mechanical whirring"

"oh"

"But don't be sad if you can create better machinery with better materials, you might be able to make a functioning being"

"OK i will try"

Ash started to wonder why it was so easy to watch her creation die.

After this conversation Ash refocused on the journey"

"Ash there are some rules you have to follow when we reach the city"

"Which are?"

"First, no killing"

"OK that's fine"

"Second don't be rude to other nobles as it could cause my family troubles"

"OK"

"Third, try to remain in the house as it could attract too much attention if you were seen"

"Vetoed"

"Why"

"I'm not staying in one place cooped up because I attract attention!"

"uhhh, is there no way to keep you inside?"

"Nope"

"Fine"

After that Ash started to talk with Arya until it became evening

Everyone setup tent except for Ash who curled up next to the fire.

Arya noticed this.

"Do you want to sleep in my tent tonight"

"No its fine"

"come on it will be fun"

"Really it's fine"

"Do you not like me"

Arya gave Ash a puppy dog look

"Fine"

As she accepted Ash thought to herself

"I'm such a pushover"

After that thought Ash laid down in Arya's tent, Then Arya snuggled against Ash and they fell asleep.

When Ash woke up it was earlier than before and not everyone was awake, so Ash squeezed out of Arya's Grasp and left the tent.

Ash sat down next to the fire and started to tinker with some parts, and after a while a notification popped up.

[New insight: Mechanics(Rookie)]

"Finally made it to rookie level"

"You do realize that rookie is only the first level, and you still have apprentice, amateur, journeyman, professional, Master and grandmaster and that's without mentioning the transcendent levels"

Lily mocked Ash for being excited over a small achievement, but if others knew of her progress speed they would be shocked as it usually took a few months to reach rookie level.

"Thanks for the pep talk"

"your welcome"

At this point it was time to continue moving as they would reach the city by noon

They walked down the path and Ash happily chatted with Iko and Arya

"Do they allow summoned beasts into the city"

"Usually no, but if you are a noble you are allowed to bring one contract beast into the city under the pretense that the beast is your bodyguard"

"So were good then"

"Yes"

They travelled for a few more hours before reaching the city.

When they reached the city Ash saw 100 foot tall stone walls with a large spire coming above the walls from the middle of the city.

"Whoa"

"Never been to a major city before"

"Nope but are all cities this heavily fortified"

"No, this city is a fort used during the war with the nation of Constella"

"What nation are we in"

"The great nation of Androda, but how do you not kno..."

"Oh yeah your a wolf forgot because your so human like"

"You have no idea"

"what was that?"

"Nothing"

With that they walked up to the gates and got in line.

After they got to the front of the line the one of the guardsmen stopped then.

"Id please"

The guard did not look away from Ash

"Here"

Iko handed the man the Id.

"And this is my contract beast"

"I'm sorry Mr. Bellrose i didn't recognize you"

Still keeping an eye on Ash

"Your allowed entry go ahead"

"Thank you"

"Keep your beast handled while inside"

"I know sir"

"Then welcome to the Fort of Karzog"

With that they entered the Fort of Karzog.

After entering Ash was surprised by the joyous atmosphere surrounding the place.

"It is always this joyous"

"Yep, this is the central plaza where its pretty much like this year round"

"Wow, this seems like a rich city"

"It would seem that way but actually there is many poor and starving people in the slums unseen"

"That's sad"

"Indeed"

"So what do you say about heading home and seeing where you will live from now on"

And with that they left for the residence of house Bellrose.
