55 Confrontation

It had been a crazy day. With Hailey and then Siegfried and then Yukio and then the twins. Honestly speaking, Jason had no idea how the fuck he got through the day. Everything started pretty naturally. He had invited Hailey over. She stayed the night they shared breakfast, and then after that, it all went to shit. Dealing with Siegfried and his weird idea of a gift, Yukio was more of a burden than anything else. But if Siegfried went through all this trouble to send her to him, it should be meaningful. It was better to have her around where he knew instead of clueless about her in the shadows. Then the transformation of the twins was abrupt as well. Jason didn't think they would take it in so well. Also, as far as Jason could tell, no side effects as of now. He needed to raise their power so they could compete with Yukio in terms of strength. Jason needed subordinates. That was true, but he required aides he could trust. Yukio was sent over to Jason and couldn't be trusted while the twins are unassociated with anyone, and Jason had direct control over their souls with his brand.

(I want to go home now but not really an option with Yukio. Good thing I have another place.)

Jason headed to the small apartment near Vervain. He had gone to the first night he had been bitten. Technically the condo wasn't only his but belonged to Jason, Tony and Stephen. They had bought it at 16 as an act of teenage rebellion to be "free" from their parents and live away from home. Eventually, they all cracked under pressure from their families. But a compromise was reached where they were allowed to live away from home. This apartment was kept, though. As a trophy of "Victory." The flat ended up a hideout for them in the end. It was home away from home.

But surprisingly, the apartment wasn't empty when he got there. A certain detective was standing center in the living with his nose to the air sniffing deeply. It had taken Luke a ton of work, both supernatural and not, to track Jason's trail from the bar to this apartment. But he was glad his hard work was paying off.

"Who the fuck are you?"

Jason was getting really sick and tired of randos breaking into his apartment.

Hearing Jason's words, Luke swivelled his head and looked at him before breaking out into a wolfish smile.

"So sorry, let me introduce myself. My name is Luke Gallo. Your name is?"

Luke reached out over in a handshake.

Caught off guard by the reaction he got, Jason paused for a second before reaching out for Luke's outstretched hand. But as soon as his hand made contact Luke grabbed onto his hand in a vice grip and pulled Jason to him. As Luke's head swang down for a vicious headbutt. Jason crumpled to the ground, dazed from the sudden and powerful headbutt. Jason barely got to his knees before a quick kick sent him flying back, slamming into the wall.

"Oh, and I don't give a fuck what your name is, Vamp."

Luke smiled, pleased with the effect the sneak attack had.

"Yea, well, Luke, you are going to fucking regret this."

Jason wiped the blood that he spat out earlier from his mouth. Then with a quick burst, Jason dashed forward, slamming himself at Luke. Jason's red armour forming around him as he approached. Then with a BANG, they made contact, forcing both of them back. They rushed at each other again, locked together grappling as they twisted, trying to gain leverage on the other. Suddenly a Hydra head erupted out of Jason's back to launch a sneak attack at Luke's throat lunging. Luke hurriedly raised his right arm to block the serpent. But just as he fended off one another, head erupted to launch itself at him again. This time, the left arm was raised in defence, but it was quickly pinned down by the Hydra as well. With a final burst, two more heads erupted out to force Luke back to the wall as his four limbs had a hydra on each restraining him.

"Now, why are you here, Luke?"

Jason had a slight look of condescension as he stared at the bound detective.

"Hahahahaha ain't time for questions yet, kid. You haven't won yet."

With a roar, Luke erupted free from his bindings as he leapt up, transforming into his Werewolf form. While Luke had been a rather large man before in his Werewolf form, he was massive. Luke stood 8 feet tall, covered in silver fur, with curved 3-inch claws on each digit. He was as deadly as deadly came.

"That was just the warm-up. Now the fight starts."

Luke's initially rough voice was now like gravel after transforming. With a quick leap and a swing of his giant claws, Luke blasted Jason clean through the walls of his apartment and into the one next door. Jason had looked down to notice five scars running down the center of his armour. Luke's claws had put the armour to the test just now. But with a thought, blood flowed out from the centre of his armour and ran over the scars filling them up and repairing the damage.

(Holy shit, that was crazy)

All Jason saw was a silver blur as he was swatted again by Luke's giant paws. This time Jason was blasted clean out of the apartment and onto the street now. But as Jason looked up and around the road, a sense of oddity struck him.

(Where is everyone?)

Jason and Luke had been fighting up a storm with Jason, literally thrown through several walls. Logically someone would check up on the noise or call the cops. But now there was not a single person on the street. Jason kept looking around to the point he briefly forgot about Luke.

"Wondering where everybody is?"

Hearing Luke's voice Jason spun around looking for the source.

"Man, you don't even know shit about shit, eh? Who turned you fledgeling? Who taught you your armour spell?"

Luke was still hidden somewhere as his voice echoed out all around Jason.
