The reawakening

In Darca, Kahlan had journeyed to Liah's evil castle like she always did to be sure of lord Torren's whereabouts.

"Did you find them?" She asked Liah.

"It was way too easy that I couldn't even have enough fun, but my brother really changed a lot. I mean he believed a disguised me going to show him where to find who he was looking for. Torren." She smiled.

"He's been like that lately. So tell me, what did you do to them?"

"I sent my serpent to kill them, it's...." But before she finished up her sentence, Kahlan interrupted her.

"You did what? That incompetent serpent? Liah how could you?" Kahlan said in rage.

"Don't call my serpent incompetent Kahlan. You caused it's failure the first time. I'm sure Torren is with the gods right now." 

"You could have just killed him yourself rather than send some serpent. I thought you wanted to take credit for his destruction."
