43 The quest begins

There was a little silence in the room when Edwin said those words before Louisa broke the silence "just do it. I believe in Torren. He will fight it".

Kahlan had nothing to say, neither did any of the knights do. Edwin administered the supposed cure to lord Torren. For over three minutes, he struggled with his life before he finally became calm. All of them were staring at him. Edwin checked his pulse.

"Is he still alive?" Kahlan asked. Edwin shook his head with a devastating look in his face. 

"No. No, we can't loose him just like this, we can't" Kahlan already started to cry while sir Owen threw his arms around her in a comforting manner.

"Do you two really have to make it obvious?" Lord Torren said as he opened his eyes and rose to sit. "Louisa, when did you get here?" He asked as he saw Louisa.

"I came as soon as I got Kahlan's message"

"How on earth did you do that, back there. What was that?" Kahlan asked Louisa.
