4 Awakening

Seeing Hedry's satisfied face after eating the Bitter Mango Fruit, the middle aged guard smiled and inquired.

"I am Klaus, who are you?"

"Me, I am Hedry, I came here to suppress you ants!" Hedry was quite happy as his Health had just crossed 100 units and replied with a smile.

Hearing that Hedry wanted to suppress the village while being buck-naked, the middle aged guard shook his head.

'Poor kid, he really lost his mind!'

"Where did you come from? Where is your home?" The middle aged guard tried probing a little. If he could find Hedry's relatives or his home, he could send him back to them so that they could take care of him.

"Audacious!" Hedry suddenly raised his index finger and pointed at the middle aged guard. With an angry expression on his face he scolded, "How dare an ant like you question me?!"

"..."

"Ok! Ok! I am sorry!" The middle aged guard hurriedly apologized. He was a fool to think he could get the mental kid to answer him.

"Come with me." Sighing, the middle aged guard caught Hedry's hand and pulled him into the village.

Hedry wanted to know what the human was going to do, so he let the guard pull him along.

But as he was naked, the humans on the streets started murmuring as soon as they saw him being dragged by the middle aged guard.

"Eh? Who is that handsome yet shameless lad? Did Klaus change his sexual orientation after his wife's death? But even then there is no need for Klaus to show off his new plaything to everyone like this, right?!"

"Kyah! That lad is so handsome! If I was Klaus, even my preference would change! Too bad, I am woman from birth! Oh god, why do want to punish me so much?! Let me be a man in my next life!"

"Shameless! Just shameless!"

"Do you need a hand tonight, Klaus? You can't keep the treasure all to yourself, right?"

Fortunately, Hedry could not make sense of their words as he was too far away from them. Seeing everyone on the road murmur to themselves, he though he was becoming famous!

And because of that, he smiled and waved at the crowd as he passed by.

Some of the naughty villagers waved back at him, while asking in a loud voice, "Do you need our help, after all, Klaus alone would not be able to satisfy you, right?"

Hearing this, Hedry nodded to himself.

'These humans sure know their place! They were already eager to help me. Hehe, later I must order them to bring me all kinds of fruits!'

A smile appeared on Hedry's face as he thought of how his Health and Stamina would increase exponentially with the help of the fruits.

Klaus's house wasn't far from the wooden fence so they reached it within five minutes. Klaus hurriedly entered the house and brought some clothes for Hedry to wear.

Hedry wore them without complaining. Though the clothes were loose, he was satisfied as he earned these clothes by suppressing humans.

It felt good! It felt good suppress humans!

"You can rest here for the moment. I still have my guarding duty, so I will return late!" Klaus hurriedly left after saying these words. After all, the best way to deal with idiots was to leave them alone.

His house did not contain any valuables so he did not fear Hedry stealing anything.

Hedry was also satisfied. The house was warm and it had a bed. He laid down on the bed and closed his eyes for a short nap.

Vampires needed sleep more than humans and Hedry was no exception.

Klaus returned late in the night and found Hedry fast asleep. He sighed and prepared porridge for dinner and woke Hedry up.

But Hedry did not touch the porridge on his plate. He put his hand inside his mouth and pulled a vial that contained red colour fluid inside it.

Hedry as a vampire, obviously had a small compressed space in his mouth. He had previously stored his aunt Arkne's blood vials inside this space and now he took a vial out and drank a drop from the vial. He then stored the vial back in his mouth.

Klaus, who was watching this from the side had his eyeballs almost pop out.

What did he just witness? Sorcery?

"You...Did you awaken your Innate Ability?" Klaus questioned, as if he could believe it what he had just witnessed. Awakening was a huge concept that had a very minute chance to occur after all!

"Innate Ability..?" Hedry looked at Klaus questioningly.

"You...you don't know?" Klaus was dumbfounded for a second before he sighed and explained.

"Innate Ability is something that one would acquire at birth. But only after awakening of the Innate Ability can one use it consciously. For example, you might be able store things in your mouth since your birth, but only after awakening, like at the age of 20 or so, would you be aware of it and can use it according to your will!"

Hedry suddenly fell into thought at Klaus's words. Of course, he did not believe that storing things in his mouth was his Innate Ability! After all, all vampires were able to do it since their birth.

What he was thinking about was the transparent screen, wether it was his innate ability or not?

"Human." After some thought, Hedry turned towards Klaus. This concerned a very huge misunderstanding that he had towards humans so Hedry had to confirm it.

"What?" Klaus's tone, which was previously filled with pity towards Hedry was now a little respectful. This was one of the few effects an Awakened had on normal humans!

"Do you feel your vitality or stamina increase when you eat fruits?" Hedry questioned directly.

"What?! Obviously no!" Klaus rolled his eyes at Hedry.

Why was this guy asking such a basic question? Did he really lose his mind?

After finding that Hedry was an awakened, Kluas thought he had misunderstood Hedry's mental state. But now, he wasn't so sure anymore!
