Claiming what is ours

"In this age and era pristine witches are quite common, but there is a disadvantage to it. They are highly, highly inexperienced." Hayden mumbled. Nathaniel looked at Hayden in surprise at his knowledge, which wasn't that shocking to be honest given Hayden was an original hunter.

"Not all of them are inexperienced. Any witch or warlock who has never used their powers to hurt others qualifies for a pristine witch." Nathaniel reminded Hayden.

"Oh grow up! No one has that kind of power who has never abused it in the slightest." Hayden huffed. "And let's assume that you're right. That someone is a pristine and yet a trained witch. Who is to say that she or he, in case of warlocks, will be willing to give up his or her status as a pristine witch or warlock. Because taking down Conrad will do that." Hayden recalled.

"If you have any better, more sustainable option, I'm all for it. But if not… then I guess we should go with this one. Cause that's all I got. And it's better than nothing". Nathaniel huffed.

Hayden took a whole moment to consider. There was no way he was being manipulated by Nathaniel into something devious, was he? Someone who was back from death, someone who wanted Hayden dead even though he was perceived as just another human being couldn't be all innocent right? That someone, Conrad, has to be evil right? Worth enough for Hayden to work with Nathaniel on this one. Hayden wondered everything silently.

"Fine." Hayden mumbled. "But let me be clear, once we're done I will be killing you" Spat Hayden.

"You're welcome to try." Nathaniel whispered seductively, lowering his head, but he was stopped by a dagger touching his chest. That's right, Hayden took out his knife in a nick of time in order to stop Nathaniel. If he were to step out of his house in order to associate with a Vampire there is no way he was gonna do that without some preparation, now was he?

"Don't tempt me to stick it in your heart" Warned Hayden. "And I'll do it multiple times, until I get it right. " he added in a whisper.

Nathaniel was amused that Hayden believed that Hayden could ever get it right. "Go ahead, since it's you… I'll let you" winked Nathaniel. At moments like this, Hayden wondered. Was this mere foreplay of their game or was Nathaniel actually flirting with him. Perhaps it was flirting which was part of the plan. If only Nathaniel wasn't this good looking Hayden wouldn't have to fight so much to avoid his charms.

"It's getting late, and I have a morning class to teach so…" Hayden was about to turn around to leave when he heard a scoff coming from Nathaniel.

"You never have a morning class. All your classes are scheduled for the afternoon because you live on campus, thus allowing you to stay late without worrying about transportation." Nathaniel mumbled. Hayden's lips separated, and he stayed open mouthed in surprise for a while. "I told you, I am obsessed with you." Nathaniel smirked.

"I can see that." Hayden nodded. "Beware though, this obsession will one day be the death of you" he noted, bringing his face closer to Nathaniel, whispering in a threatening manner. "Good night" and with that Hayden walked away, leaving an impressed Nathaniel behind.

While Nathaniel's work was done here he still had business left to do. For the past few days he had been tracking Conrad's movements and he had heard about something called 'claiming what is ours'. Nathaniel wasn't completely sure what that meant, but there were some possibilities. One of them included taking over the southeast  region of their home, Castle Town. Which historically belonged to the Wyman's lineage back in the days until multiple branching tore apart their clan.

If anything Conrad was fond of, it was his lineage. Family and blood were of a great deal of importance to him. To the point of decapitating anything that even remotely threatened lineage. In fact that's how Nathaniel met Conrad. Perhaps Nathaniel did have a type after all.

Nathaniel had verified the source Hayeen had talked about. The righteous Conrad that his history books spoke of. Turns out it was the same Conrad indeed, where the historians were biased towards the wealthy and powerful.

Nevertheless, the records were almost rubbish, which is why he decided that he could use a hunter's help in tracking this person. At least Conrad has some historical records however misleading they might have been. There are no records of any pristine witches left.

Nathaniel walked back to the site of resurrection, to see if he missed anything else apart from the runes. The runes he found were drawn on tree barks, making it extremely difficult to detect in the first place. However, Nathaniel's keen observation had helped him quite a bit.

He was looking around when he noticed some sounds coming from nearby distance. Almost certain that it must be one of Conrad's followers, he ran towards the noise, only to find a familiar and yet completely unrelated face there. "What the hell are you doing here?" Nathaniel snarled at Connor.

"Why? You're afraid I'd find out what you did?" Connor scoffed.

"What are you talking about?" Nathaniel asked, tilting his head in confusion.

"This dead body, it belongs to Nick. Clearly whoever buried him didn't do a good job hiding it" Connor huffed. "You think I...killed this boy"? Nathaniel huffed. "You're so good with smells aren't you half wolf boy? Do you smell me anywhere near him?"

"Well, you're here now, so yeah". Connor shrugged.

"It's a good thing you aren't a detective cause you'd be terrible at it." Nathaniel rolled his eyes. "There are bigger things that are going on around here. Pretty soon you'd have a bigger crisis at hand. And you're worried about one werewolf."

"You know, despite your suspicious behavior I expected you to be at least morally grey if not a good vampire. Thanks for proving me wrong." Connor shook his head and disappeared. Of course his speed wasn't as fast as Nathaniel's, but he still was pretty fast. Nathaniel sighed in dismay. He couldn't believe that on top of everything else, he would now have to deal with complications of this situation as well. How the hell did Connor find Nick's body?
