9 Chapter 9: Kissed And Suspected

Gisella was quickly becoming irritated by the King’s chief adviser. Lois had been going around the room since she had woken up from her slight fainting episode about thirty minutes ago to the sound of him yelling and accusing anything that moved within the hall.

He had refused to let anyone leave the room to such an extent that even the guards who had fought against the masked assailants could not remove the dead bodies. Instead, they had all been piled up in a corner behind the torn screen of the stage.

Gisella and her troupe were stationed below the broken windows, where they were commanded to stay until the interrogations had finished.

She turned her gaze about the room once again as she looked for Ryre and found him speaking with his brother. What she didn’t notice before was the slight bruising on his neck from where she assumed he had been attacked by the assailants.
