11 Chapter 11: Meeting Eve

There was a girl in the kitchens when Gisella arrived the next morning. She had never seen the servant girl before; she knew this from the blue bands standing brightly at attention around her wrists and ankles.

What Gisella noted firstly about her were her striking features. Her eyes were set apart from each other and they slanted upward, giving a fierce look to otherwise fiercer features. Her cheekbones sat high on her face and full lips were slanted downward.

She was a beautiful woman, Gisella thought, and looked wild and free.

“Hello,” the woman spoke first as she saw Gisella upon entering. “My name is Eve.”

“My name is—“ Gisella began but the woman only waved her hand in the air.

“I know who you are, you’re the woman every man in the castle seems to be speaking of.” Gisella’s cheeks flushed at the statement and she ducked her head, “How sweet,” Eve cooed, “All that beauty, and you are not even aware of it.”
