Halloween Pt. 2

Alec was dressed up as a pirate for the Halloween party. His outfit consisted of a tattered black coat, a tricorn hat adorned with a skull and crossbones, and a wooden sword strapped to his waist. It was the only costume he could find at the last minute. He wasn't thrilled with it, but he had no other options.

He went toward Caroline and Bonnie when he arrived at the party, hoping to blend in with the crowd. As he approached them, he noticed their elaborate and creative costumes; he must say they both went all out. Caroline was dressed as a mystical fairy with shimmering wings and a flowing gown, while Bonnie had transformed into a wicked witch with a pointy hat and a broomstick. If only she knew the magic that awaited her. As the night went on, the party became livelier and more energetic. People danced and laughed, their costumes adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

Tyler, dressed as a vampire with his shirt off, had some drinks in his hand and walked over toward us. "Cider anyone? Its a Lockwood special!" I thought it was a little funny considering the whole thing going on in this town.

"What is it? Give me one," I said, eager to try, while Tyler just showed me a mischievous smile. "That's the spirit! Here, new guy!" I took it from him, and Bonnie refused it. "No way. Last year, I was hung over until Thanksgiving." I was about to take a sip but stopped hearing what she said. I looked at Bonnie, reconsidering whether or not I should try the Lockwood special. The thought of being hungover for weeks was not appealing. However, Caroline scoffed at Bonnie. "Lightweight," she said, grabbing one of the drinks. "I'm going to drink until someone is hot enough to make out with!"

"Sounds like a plan," I replied, joining Caroline and Tyler as we clinked our glass together and downed it in one go. The strong taste hit me instantly, but I couldn't deny the rush it gave me.

I saw Elena and her brother walking toward the entrance, where Elena was dressed as a nurse while her brother was dressed as a vampire. Right, another vampire costume. But he frowns a little since Elena informed him that she wouldn't come tonight. "I'll be right back," he told them, walking toward Elena. He couldn't help but notice Elena looked like she was in a rush.

"Alec!" Elena called his name in distress, wanting to tell him something. "Elena, what happened? I thought you wouldn't come. Before she could continue, Matt came toward us in a nurse costume as well. He pulled a fake foot out of his pocket and showed her, "You went with last year's costume too, huh?"

"Yeah, I didn't know that I was coming an hour ago." She nodded at Matt. "Me neither," he said, then proceeded to look at Jeremy. "And you're a vampire,ha,same as Vicki too as well. And you're a pirate," he said, nodding his head in greeting.

"Shes here?!" Elena asked suddenly, shocking both of us as Jeremy walked away. "Where?" she asked in a frantic manner. "You can't miss her. She's a vampire," Matt said, not helping at all. Elena then turned toward me and said, "Oh my god, where did Jeremy go?"

"Whats the matter,Elena?" I asked her. "We gotta find him now!" she said, grabbing my hand. I offered a smile at Matt before scanning the crowd for Jeremy. As we searched through the crowd, Elena's worry grew more palpable. "What if something happened to him?" she exclaimed, her voice filled with concern. I reassured her, "Don't worry, we'll find him. Let's split up and cover more ground."

Alec was wandering aimlessly through the crowd, his eyes darting from face-to-face in search of Jeremy. He couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. As he continued his search, he heard Jeremy scream at Vicki as she jumped at him to take a bite. Alec's heart raced as he sprinted towards Jeremy, adrenaline pumping through his veins. He tackled Vicki to the ground, desperately trying to pry her off Jeremy, which proved to be a stupid move.

Vicki turned toward him as veins pulsed under her eyes. She paused, looking at Alec's hand, which was bleeding during their struggle with hunger. And boy, he didn't know vampires could get more ferocous and uglier. She let out a guttural growl, baring her fangs and lunging at him with unprecedented speed. Alec's instincts kicked in, and he managed to dodge her attack.

In panic, he suddenly remembered how Wanda, the Avenger, held her hand up, and he did exactly that, hoping for some miracles. As Alec held his hand up, he hoped that somehow Vicki would be immobilized, just like in the movies. But to his surprise, Vicki started to grab her head as if she were in pain and fell on one knee.

"Alec!" he hears Elena call out his name while she helps Jeremy. "Elena, run!" he yelled at her as Vicki took this opportunity to vamp speed and grab Alec by his neck. "Vicki,no!" Elena screamed as Vicki sunk her fangs in Alec's neck as he groaned in pain. Suddenly, Stefan came and threw Vicki away from Alec and held her up against the school bus. "Vicki!" Jeremy shouted, which got her to push Stefan away and vamp speed.

Stefan ran over toward Alec but froze when he smelled Alec's blood. He tore his eyes away from the blood. "You all need to get inside. GO!" he said, and Alec could tell Stefan was restraining himself. Alec quickly got up with the help of Elena and Jeremy as they ran to the door.

Alec opened the door for them to run through when suddenly Jeremy was pulled back and threw onto the ground while Elena was grabbed by Vicki. She was about to bite into Elena's neck when Alec made her flew back onto the ground. Alec's eyes turned black without him realizing it, and black veins started to spread up as he unknowingly fed off the chaos that occurred.

He broke out of his trance when he heard Jeremy's piercing scream, snapping him back to reality. Vicki was lying on the ground as her skin turned gray, with a stake in her heart as Stefan pulled it out. Jeremy tried to run over toward her lifeless body, but Stefan held him back.

"Get them out of here, Stefan," Alec said while the vampire walked away with heartbroken Jeremy and tear-stained Elena. Alec then went to Vicki's body and felt pity as she was dragged into this mess. He couldn't help but wonder how things had escalated to this point. Then Alec hears a footstep behind him: "You should go; I got this." Damon said as he offered a hand. Alec stood up and looked at Damon, ignoring his hand. "This is your fault. If you didn't turn her, she wouldn't die," Alec said. "What are you now? her friend? None of this matters to me. None of it."

"It matters, and you knew it." He just looked at me and said, "You need to leave; you're bleeding, and I'm not sure if I can resist biting you." He said it in a raspy tone. Alec glared at Damon and whispered, "Burn." He walked away, leaving an awesturck Damon and Vicki burning corpses behind.

Eventually, he made it home and immediately hopped into a shower. He realized all the wounds had already healed. As the water cascaded over his body, Alec couldn't help but replay the events in his mind. He can use magic just by thinking about what he wants to happen. He feels confused, as he knew that witches needed to chant a specific spell for it to happen. Alec pondered the possibilities of his newfound abilities. Perhaps he possessed a unique form of magic that didn't require incantations. As he dried off and got dressed, he made a mental note to research more about his powers and their origins.

When he turned toward his bed, he was caught off guard by Damon sitting on it. "How can you- Nevermind. What are you doing here?" he asks, annoyed. "I compelled Jeremy to forget about Vicki being dead," he said while tilting his head. "what now?! Does Elena-" He was cut off when Damon said Elena wanted him to make Jeremy forget. "But why?" Alec asked, stunned. "She doesn't want to see his baby brother get hurt." "Huh, whose fault is that? I wonder," I said sarcastically while Damon just shrugged.

Alec's annoyance grew as he processed Damon's explanation. He couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for Jeremy, who was being manipulated for the sake of protecting him. Alec wondered if Elena truly understood the consequences of erasing someone's memories, especially when it involved their own family.

"But why are you telling me this?" he asked, and Damon just replied nochalantly, "Would you believe me if I said because I like you?" I just scoffed at that, "Yeah, right, as if you didn't tell me your plan to free the love of your life from the tomb."

"what? Are you jealous, huh?" Damon said it playfully, with a smirk plastered on his face. "as if. Now get out! I want to rest." Damon stood up from his bed and walked close to Alec. Alec was surprised when Damon held his cheek. "You can't compel me, remember?" Alec said, thinking that Damon wanted to use compulsion on him. "I know, but I could do this." Damon suddenly kissed his cheek before vamping speed away from there. "

Alec stood there, stunned and speechless, his hand instinctively touching the spot where Damon's lips had just grazed his skin. He couldn't help but scowl at Damon's teasing behavior. Ignoring how his heart was racing, Alec shook his head and reminded himself that Damon was just playing games.
