Chapter 14

As I woke up to a bright light hitting my eyes, I squint and tried to adjust my eyes to the bright room. I look around the room and notice that it's not a hospital. The room is white with a light blue bed in the middle, I continue to look around and see a bucket in the corner of the room above it is a camera. The light on the camera is flashing bright red meaning someone is watching me. I try to remember what happened but everything is blurry, I remember a man carrying me to a truck it's not Luke, Liam, or Levi. His face is blurry but I recognize his cologne. I also remember the man dragging Luke, Levi, and Liam into the back of the truck, as I try to remember my head starts to throb. I start to rub my temples when I feel something in my arm. There is an IV in my arm. I pull it out and sit up on the bed, I look around for my purse or any of my belongings. I find nothing. The only thing in the room that is mine is the clothes that I am wearing. I stand up and start to walk to the door I tug and pull at the handle but nothing seems to make the door open. I look up at the camera and it's still flashing. Suddenly the door opens. I look up at the camera to see that it's no longer flashing. I pull open the door and step into the hallway, the hallway is filled with doors similar to mine. I walk up to the door and see a man-eating a rabbit, he looks up at me and I see that he isn't eating the rabbit but he is drinking its blood. He's a vampire I think to myself but if he's a vampire doesn't that mean that the vampire hunters found us. I start to run to all of the doors looking for Luke, Liam, or Levi, as I come to the final door I try to think positive thoughts and hope for the best. As I approach the final door I see a lot of lab equipment, I survey the room until I see Luke, Liam, and Levi. They are tied to lab tables, they look to be asleep but I can tell that they aren't, I open the door shocked that it was unlocked. I run over to the tables as soon as I do. They all open their eyes but I don't see their kind, sweet, joyful eyes. Instead, I see dead ones, I cover my mouth in shock trying not to cry. When suddenly the door opens, I turn around and see a man in a white shirt and blue jeans, he looks oddly familiar that's when I realize that he was the man that was carrying me. But he looks like someone I have seen before, I start to remember him from back at Dad's house, my uncle, he was almost always around he treated me more like a daughter than my own dad. I stare at him for a while until I run towards him and bring him into a tight hug, "Hey ladybug, long time no see. How ya been?" He says as he embraces me into a tight hug, "Pretty good I guess" I say as I pull back from the hug. "What are you doing here?" I ask "Work," he says as he walks over to Luke, Liam, and Levi. Work? I say in my head this is why he would only visit twice a month and sometimes I was lucky enough to get to see him for a whole week. "I hunt vampires and when I saw these filthy animals feeding off you, it just made me so mad," he says, crossing his arms. "Well I wasn't in any danger," I say walking over to Luke. "Well it sure did look like it when you passed out," he said. "Actually I let them feed off me, they are my friends," "Friends?" "You can't be friends with these bloodsuckers," he says uncrossing his arms. "Actually Luke is my boyfriend," I say confidently as I walk up to Luke, he turns his head to look at me and I could have sworn I saw his eyes soften. I leaned down to try to kiss him but I was stopped by my Uncle "DON'T TOUCH HIM!" my uncle says as he pushes me. I look up at my uncle, confused, he then points to his mouth, Luke's fangs were out ready to kill me. Tears start to cloud my eyes, "What did you do to them?" I ask "Well... I might have given them a little of this antidote I made," my uncle says as he rubs the back of his neck, I can tell that he feels guilty about what he did after he realizes how much they mean to me. "What antidote?" "My team and I are trying to make a cure obviously it doesn't work it just made them worse," my uncle says as he walks over to Liam "What do you mean?" I ask "It means that their abilities are heightened and I don't know how to fix it"
