4 Chapter 4

After the first kiss between Alice and Hawaii, things became awkward between them. Alice had seen Hawaii's fangs before he disappeared and since then she had grown concerned.

He called her the morning after but she didn't pick up. Things had gotten worse before they could even get better. Alice saw Nina and Amiya on a football court and she approached them like ghost possessed with a backpack and purple sneakers down.

"Who are you people?" She asked in haste.

"What do you mean?" Nina confronted her and they locked eyes.

"You, I remember you. And you..." She pointed at Amiya who was sitting on the field tying her shoes.

"Well I remember you too. We are neighbors, your father is Mark McKelvin. The town's detective" Amiya said

"You tried to erase our encounter. The first day that we met you said forget everything" Alice said to Nina's face.

Amiya and Nina looked at each other and then in unison, they all looked at Alice. Nina said "I don't know what you talking about" and it was like Alice needed exactly that, for Nina to denied everything. She opened her backpack and took out a photo.

The photo was old and she had found it on her dad's archive collection when she was searching for the town's criminal records. It was of Hawaii and Nina in 1965, she was dressed in a white dress with yellow hat and Hawaii in a black suit. They were surrounded by a group of criminals who were put on cuffs.

"This isn't you? Or that friend of yours?"

Nina took the photo and saw herself, she quickly teared it into pieces and then turned to Amiya "We need to go, now!"

"Where are you going? I just asked you a very important question!"

"I don't have to answer you anything Alice. I don't owe you an explanation"

Nina took off with Amiya trying to catch up behind her. Alice was left confused and without answers, she tried calling out but no one responded to her. As she was racing for Nina on the hallway, she suddenly bumped into Hawaii.

"Hey beautiful" He said with that grin on his face.

"You"

"Yes me"

"I know who you are. Or what you are..."

Hawaii was caught off guard, he asked "What I am?"

"Yes! You are a vampire aren't you?"

"Okay, that's it. I'm off!" He barged out of the door but Alice didn't want to leave him alone so she followed him.

"Tell me the truth" She demanded

"What truth Alice?"

Alice looked sideways and some of the students were looking. All eyes were on them.

"You were saying..." Hawaii asked her

"Not here. I'll drive"

In a beautiful Sunday morning, the day was blessed with heavy amount of rainfall fit for a week. The streets were clumsy and wet as usual for a town which received heavy rainfall throughout the year.

The locals were running around trying to get cover from the rainfall , then there was Nina on a big castle with her maiden fitting her dress. She was getting married and it was year 1105, just five years before she turned into a vampire.

She wasn't smiling or showing any sort of feeling whether it was happiness or disappointed. She was just numb. Her big day had arrived, as a princess of Madeira it was her duty to marry a prince so that one day she could unite both kingdoms. Her father, King Leopold IV (The Fourth) never had a son as an heir, hence she was ought to marry.

"You are quiet my Lady" Said one of her maiden who was fixing her dress. "You don't like the dress?"

"It's quiet alright Sadie"

"The fabrics were carefully extracted and the brooch my Lady. Would you take a look at that..." Sadie tried to cheer Nina up but she didn't even look at the brooch that Sadie was referring to.

"How can I marry a man I have never met? I don't know him"

"There will be plenty of time for that, after marriage"

"Sadie we both know how ridiculous that sounds. Love must be between friends who...utterly and perpetually know one another"

"My Lady, I know it's not within my place but Prince Arwan is said to be a good man. He has sow his ought and ready to settle down"

"It's not about that..." Nina walked close by to a window and looked outside.

Some of the very respected guests had started arriving in their carriages in numbers. When they got out, they were in their Sunday's best. Looking sharp and ready for the ceremony. "Look at them" Nina pointed at Duke and Duchess of Helmingway who weren't even on speaking terms and it showed.

The Duke paid no attention at all to his wife. He was seen rather taken by Madeira women who were all swoon in by his charms.

"He isn't even looking at his wife. That's not what I want, I want to be married to someone I love. Someone who won't leave me alone"

Sadie didn't know what to say anymore hence she just kept her silence. Someone knocked at the door and came inside. "It's time My Lady" she said and walked away. Sadie fixed Nina's dress for a final time and then she escorted her to the drawing room.

Prince Arwan was already at the church, with his father King Reyle and his mother Queen Sofia. All the invitees stood upon the arrival of the princess in a white vale and adorned by yellow gold. Her father was on her left arm walking her to the alter.

Nina reached Prince Arwan and she saw a handsome young charming man standing still with a spear by his waist. The archbishop initiated; "Dearly beloved, we are gathered together here in the sight of God, and in the face of congregation, to join together this man and this woman in holly matrimony. Who giveth this woman to be married to this man?" Asked the archbishop and King Leopold moved closer to his daughter. Took her hand and hand it over to Prince Arwan.

Prince Arwan's gentle fingers held Nina's and for a moment Nina felt safe in the company of that man she barely knew. They said their vows and promised one another a lifetime together of happiness. But Nina wasn't ready to accept Arwan into her life yet and they never got to spend their first night because she complained about having monthly blood.

The next day, she ran away from Madeira and never looked back. Leaving everything including her title, lands, inheritance and her new groom who was waiting for her in their chambers.

**********************************************

Fast forward to nine hundred years later and she was sitting on a couch with Amiya drinking blood out of a blood bag using a straw, while Amiya was practicing some new magic tricks. How life had changed so much for all those years.

"So what's next?" Amiya asked and this released her from those day dreams.

"Huh?"

"After Alice finding out the truth, what's next?"

"It doesn't change anything. Nazar must die and alongside him, we will all be purified"

"So you mean to tell me, you don't want to be a vampire anymore?"

"I wouldn't wish this on anyone" Said Nina and stood up "I don't where she is now but we need to contain her. We still have on more ingredient needed"

"What's that?"

"Lunara's tomb stone"

"A tomb stone? Wasn't she buried a long time ago, how the hell are we supposed to get it?"

A car arrived at Amiya's house and made such a mess. Nina looked at Amiya, then she said "Who said anything about we?" and walked outside. Roberto and Alfredo, long time best friends of Nina dating over a century. She's the one who turned them after finding them during World War One in Italy, they were on the brink of death and she stepped in to help.

"Hey guys..." Nina walked to the twins and hugged them. "I've missed you both!"

"Haven't heard from you in over seventy years! Never knew you'd be hiding in this quiet creepy town" said Alfredo.

"Well, do you have what I asked for?"

Roberto replied "Why do you think we are here then...?"

Roberto opened the car trunk and took out the tomb stone which had Lunara's name written in ancient language. "Careful, it's old and brittle" warned Alfredo and Nina held it carefully then she handed it over to Amiya who came outside to see the newcomers.

Unexpectedly Hawaii and Alice showed up. Nina signaled for the twins to leave and they got inside their car and drove away. She moved close to Alice.

"You have your answers now?" She asked her

"For now. He told me everything"

Nina looked at Hawaii and asked "Everything?"

"Yes" He replied

"Everything?" Amiya intervened.

"He told me everything yes. Now I would like to know how the fuck were you planning on sacrificing me?" Alice snapped in a way no one expected her to.

She moved closer to Nina and Amiya without fear of anything. She was fiery and determined to learn everything concerning herself and history of Warlington. Cullen showed up too, and the group was silent for a moment after seeing how wounded he was.

"Are you okay?" Asked Nina

"You are bleeding..." Hawaii added "Why aren't you healing?"

He looked like he may have just come from a knife fight. His wounds on his face were still raw and some dripping blood. Since the veil was dropped yesterday and he let lose, something happened. He was exhausted and in pain, without a shirt to cover himself, that only sent a sort of red signal to his friend and they looked at him. Cullen managed to say few words "Guys, something's wrong. Something is really wrong..." and he fainted.
